  • ....

  • Ear rape at the beginning

  • @Boohooadorable Exept for major/minor graphical changes and the addition of holding the B button to run.

  • This ending theme should have been playing at the end of SMB2. Much more satisfying.

  • This game has a lot more stuff in it than Super Mario Bros. 2.

  • @jasmin8ter2010 nope, both are EXACTLY the same execpt for the endings

  • @Boohooadorable And Intro

  • interesting

  • Interesting. Super Mario Bros. 2 just shows the characters in the game and Mario sleeping!

  • lol @ thanks a million, haven't heard that phrase in awhile.

  • Kinda like an NES-ified version of Yoshi Story's ending with more up-beat music.

  • wow, that frog was killed by vedgetebles?

2nd moral of the story: dont eat vedgetebles

another reeason for kids to dont eat vedgetebles

I already see it in real life: no mom, I am jnot gonna eat that carrot

    why sweetheart?

frog dies! =O from ****ing vedgetebles!

    mom: come sweetheart, quick

    kid: where we going?

    mom: to the Mc. Donalds!

  • @TheMrminimario

    Frogs die from veggies...not Humans

  • SOOO glad they changed the credits music. This sounds repetitive, whereas the SMB2 version is one of the best chiptunes of all time.

  • Oh so silly, That's just Mario's half brother Mahmar from the Sand Kingdom.

  • hmm this game reminds me of mario 2 for some reason strang isnt it

  • 1:20 Miyahon? Isn't Miyamoto?

  • @SailorMercury64 It's a mistake; hon and moto share the same kanji symbol - 本.

  • @SailorMercury64

he was credited as Miyahon in all of his 8-Bit NES games.... check out the end of Zelda for proof....

    Who knows why?

  • @SailorMercury64

    so yes Miyahon is Miyamoto....

  • 00:43 Is that a skitty? xD

  • hmmmm well that stinks

  • in all these years, Nintendo should make a game with the cast of Doki Doki Panic for the 3DS, or a remake with actual graphics & without Mario on it (unless he´s the victim of Wart)

  • and thus kids stay away from smb2 (usa version)

  • @gamemaster641998 NOOOOO! NOOOOOOOOO!!! DOES NOT COMPUTE!!!!

  • @Chikun382 IT DOES COMPUTE!

  • I understand why they left Mario the way they did,

If they had put Bowser as the final boss the whole dream thing wouldn't have made as much sence, As far as sence goes with this game. I agree, The game lacked some major detail. Still an awesome game though. And Doki Doki Panic, Is just as good if not better.

  • @ZAPPSOFT i agree 100% because smb2 stinks bad

  • @gamemaster641998 Thats why the japanese went speshit over it and had it released in 1992. The SMB2 usa turned out ot be a success. Extending the mario universe..

  • @ZAPPSOFT I agree.

  • Oh, lame-0 ending.

  • oh wow i just the end.......AND YOU WERE RIGHT!!!!!!!!! it was gross

  • are you sure!? i never saw the blood EVER!

  • really they did add blood? i never knew that

  • @gamemaster641998 they didn't add blood. I just checked all 3 versions. NES, SNES (All Stars), and GBA versions.

  • @gamemaster641998 Yes, but that was the Super Mario All Stars version, the NES version didn't. But what makes it even more bad ass is that he's bleeding form his eyes!

  • they added blood in mario 2

  • is that osama at the beginning?

    he looks like osama

  • mario 2

  • you know i bet those whole game is still locked in the super mario bros 2 cartridge like the doki dokipanic sprites

  • why couldnt this be the super mario 2 ending?!?!?!?!

  • @XCr393 copyright?

  • I see a lot of people complaining how Mario 2 was a dream but when I was a kid, and reading the instruction manuall, I was always under the assumption that it was another world in a dream world, or something to that effect. I still enjoyed the game but remembered being very disappointed that it wasn't two player.

  • its really super mario 2

  • @keeganmc23 this is the origenal tho

  • @keeganmc23 no,super mario 2 is the REAMKE of this game

  • u dussagree with both of you (kalaida and zackskullz) its when mario (in the american version) has a dream entered the universe etc.

  • MUST...ADD.....STARRRS!!!

  • Once you've played this game and beaten it you look at Mario 2/USA like any other mario hack. It was just licensed and given a commercial release. It is this game with the difficulty significantly lowered and mario characters pasted in. The Mario version doesn't even have a real ending just mario in a bed and it doesn't even make you finish it with everyone.

  • this ending is way better then the smb2 ending.

why? because in the smb2 ending, the only thing you get is that it was all a dream.

in doki doki panic, you get a storybook ending, like it was telling you a story.

  • @rickyony That's because this is it's own game. Nintendo screwed up with the opening plot they gave it. If they had had Mario just venture to a new land like sunshine I think the game could have been given a good ending with mario and co coming home in a plane or by some other transportation like Link's Awakening. Let it fit into the canon but be a side quest on a distant land. Wouldn't be the first time nintendo gave us a unique mario experience.

  • I call this dud aramario

  • This Music would of made a great Super Mario Bros ending.

  • the kids probably aren't happy because they left a magical dream world and came back to the dull real world. back to school!

  • @irishtrash15 they're two yrs. old

  • @irishtrash15 They can always go back now though Wart is dead and I'm sure the sub cons won't have a problem.

  • why did wart or warp whatever kidnnapp the kids anyway is he a pedo?

  • the kids are too stoned to be happy.

  • What's actually strange is that the credits theme in SMB2 is the intro theme from DDP.

  • @megamanfan3 Yeah, they extended it quite a bit too.

  • Miyahon lol 宮本?

  • @lindscatlover no its the other way around they didnt copy nintendo nintendo copyed them

  • @nicka209 umm no more like nintendo copied nintendo... theyre both by shigeru miyamoto :P

  • @Kosmicd12 Nintendo didn't copy anything. Mario 2/USA is this game just easier with mario characters. Our mario 2 is a hack just a well done one naturally since nintendo did it.

  • @Luigi84289 ...? The person i replied to said nintendo copied this and i was disagreeing with them. then you disagree with me by agreeing with me? i was saying nintendo did both the games so they were NOT copying anyone... so anyways try reading posts thoroughly before commenting...

  • okay to my eyes they could make the ending just like this for smb2: kids = peach and Daisy Main chars= Mario Luigi Toad yoshi

  • @lindscatlover Err,,,this came out BEFORE super mario bros. two, so your entire point is completely invalid.

  • Are you telling me you have to beat the game four times before you get the proper ending?

  • @TomSFox Yes.

  • now i get to hear the full music. :D

  • Now THIS is an ending

  • @lindscatlover "OH NOEZ NINTENDO RIPPED THEMSEVLES OFF" wait what.

  • I think doki doki panic also got some things from super mario bros, as the stars, coins, the POW power, design the last sub-level like a castle with the level boss, and using some vases as pipes.

  • the hell is "set side A"?

  • @rmazing This was a Famicom Disk System Game. It was on a floppy disk with two sides. Side A had all the cutscenes, and you had to switch to Side B to actually play the game. In this case, you had to switch to Side A again to see the ending scene.

  • @Ketorulz So it had RAM in the system. Awesome.

  • @rmazing This is from the old famicon disk system from japan, it used floppy disks

  • @lindscatlover You are a huge retard.

  • but i thought it was all a dream like smb2

  • @lindscatlover

smb 2 was a copy of doki doki panic, not the other way around.

dunno why nintendo did it though. maybe because the REAL mario bros 2 (that later got released as "the lost levels") was too much like the first one.

  • @lindscatlover don't worry, i'm sure they had "premition". in fact, they had so much that doki doki panic was released BEFORE smb2. smb2 was released as a western version of THIS game. also, i don't know why on earth nintendo would ask itself permission to copy one it its own games

  • @lindscatlover no we have not. They looked more evil in Super mario bros. here they look funny

  • i actually like this ending better than the smb2 ending........

  • i wish i could play this. id like to play a real story, not a dream. not in the usa.

  • LOL! look at the faces of the phantos at the top when he defeats wart!

  • Moral of the story: Stop reading books.

  • @42ndIcicle also, vegetables can hurt you

  • cool

  • Who'd like this version to be ported to the Virtual Console?

  • I really like the end credits music! So catchy...

It's really interesting to see SMB2's origins. I kinda like the ending better in this game though...

  • @jaderoseofchaos um this is smb2 smb2 usa is this game

  • When could you save in Yume Kōjō:Doki Doki Panic? Did you have to get a game over first, or was there another way to save?

  • @PingasMyBoy No save function on the NES/Famicom. Super Mario 2/USA on SNES/SFamicom's Super Mario All*Stars/Collection was the first version with a save feature.

  • @PingasMyBoy Pretty sure the FDS saved after you beat each world. There's no way they would expect you to beat the game 4 times in one playthrough to get the final ending.

  • it wasnt a dream... but... it was a whole intire story. all along that was a story.

  • I like the music in this game better. Just listen to that rockin' tune!

  • At least this made since! There is absolutely no story behind SMB2!

  • At least doki doki panic wasn't a dream, that's what pissed me off about mario 2

  • This makes me angry, why nintendo had to do this rip off, this changes my life =.(.....

  • Mario 2 the American version of this. The real Mario 2 (Mario the lost levels) was decided to hard to be sent to America.

  • you can play the lost levels in super mario all stars for the snes

  • They did it because they thought Americans wouldn't like the real Super Mario Bros 2 because it looked too much like the original. The "real" sequel is available on the Wii through the internet. It was also released on the Super Nintendo years ago. I know too much about this! I have no life!

  • @Pnloxo Shigero Miyamoto creator of Mario worked on this game as well. The real Super Mario Bros 2 (know today as the lost levels) was only released in japan because they thought it was to hard. Miyamoto then decided to give this one a makeover to please the american market with another mario game.

  • @gylfimar "Too hard" was always the company's line, but really, I think they knew that the American public wouldn't like a new Mario game without graphical enhancements.

  • For those who don't know:

    Imajin - Mario

    Lina - Peach

    Mama - Luigi

    Papa - Toad

    That's how that work.

  • I feel a little depressed because I smirked at "Mama Luigi."

  • this had a better ending than smb2 tho

  • I kind of find this ending better than Super mario USA

  • Why does it say please set side a and wait?

  • Because of the Famicom Disk System, which used these floppy disk-like thingies you had to switch for the game to load properly.

  • Oh ok, thanks.

  • Do a google or Wikipedia search on "Famicom Disk System" to find out why the game says "please set to side B".

  • See, kids. Vegetables are bad for you. (If you're a giant Toad king...)

  • true dat

  • Doki Doki Panic And

Super Mario Bros 2 Are The Same Thing.

    But Diffrerent.

  • this is exactly like mario bors. 2! same bosses and attacks specials everything!

  • It is because it is the same game. Doki Doki Panic was the original game that was released first in Japan, and then changed into Mario Bros 2 in the West. There is no "Mario Bros 2" in Japan.

  • There is a Super Mario Bros 2 in Japan. It is just so hard that they chose not to release it in the West and instead modified Doki Doki Panic. The original Mario Bros 2 (Japan) can be found as Super Mario Bros Lost Levels on Mario Allstars on the SNES. It is also now available on Wii Virtual Console.

  • lintonthepenguin is right, but they did release the "doki doki panic mario 2"in japan as Super Mario USA

  • ahh but there is it is in the US called super mario bros. the lost levels.

that is the true sequel the Smb

  • the smb2 japan is super mario bros. lost levels but just called smb2

  • thats what it is its super mario bros 2 just with different character selections if you watch the irate gamer super mario bros 2 review youll know what it is

  • How did you play this? Is there a ROM for it?

  • Haha, thanks a million?

    What's this sarcastic crap?

  • ... WTF?!?!

  • lol luigi he looks so scary and mario just the fat guy lulz

  • What's funny is that Luigi took over the role of "Mama". (lol, Mama Luigi)

The role of the fat guy, on the other hand, was actually given to Toad, not Mario.

  • lol thats so true

  • Umm no if you played the game the fat guy has Mario's gameplay style

while the other Male arab is toad

  • Actually, it's the thinner one (can't remember his name) that has Mario's gameplay attributes. The fat one (Papa) is the strong, can't-jump-that-high one that Toad ends up mimicking. (And yes, I have played the game.)

  • @ShiitakeWarrior

    Imajin

  • who the fuk are those kids? Its like they aren't even happy about being rescued. Fine then get ur ass back in the cage.

  • DOESNT WORK. FIX!

  • "Please set side A"!!! lol

  • wow why would anyone want to complet copied to Super Mario Bros 2

  • On my ROM version of the game, when it says switch to side A at the end, it always brings me to the title screen.. =S

  • That's the point. Not SMB2 we wanna play, but DDP. That's an essential difference!! ;-)

  • Uaaa...Why in the Holy Mother of Sickness didn't Nintendo re-release this jewel on Wii's Virtual Console, no matter how many extra Wii points id'd cost??

    ==__==#

  • well when you think about it they did and its SM2 but i agree i wanna play this

  • SMB2 USA and Doki Doki Panic are essentially the same game with negligible differences. Re-releasing it would have little merit for Nintendo.

  • Have you seen the waterfalls in this game? My god this game can give anyone seizures. But this game would be a nice VC release.

  • Mario 2 is basically an improved version of this game. No reason for releasing the same game twice. Though it would be interesting for people to see SMB2's origins, it's probably not worth 5 dollars

  • I disagree. This game's storyline doesn't give you a big slap on the face saying "Wait, it never happened!" the way Mario 2 did by making everything a dream.

  • oh i didnt know you played mario games for the story buddy

  • Why not? Mario Galaxy has a great story to it.

  • you totally missed the point. i was trying to say most people like mario games because of gameplay, not the story. and in my original comment i meant it was an improvement gameplay-wise

  • The only real difference between Doki Doki Panic and the original US Mario 2 on the NES was a few graphic changes i.e. changing the main cast to Mario and co., changing the head/faces to Eagles, changing the weird heads to turtle shells, ect. there was no changes to the core gameplay until the re-release in Super mario all stars and the GBA Super Mario Advance

  • have you played doki doki panic? aside from the graphical changes, the music is worse, and you can't run.

  • also, doki doki panic has less animation than NES SMB2. which, by the way, has the same "core gameplay" as the all stars one (not mario advance though)

  • @Kalaida

It wasnt a dream if you read the instruction manual. At the end it was accually mario dreaming of what would happen cause it said in the manual that mario had a dream and then the next day he went up a mountain for a picknick with his friends when they found a door, The door looked the same thing like the ones in his dreams so he went thru the door and it was his dream.

  • 2:08 SOUND COMPOSER = KONCHAN

    Koji Kondo?

  • Yes! That is Koji Kondo

back in the 1980s, many Japanese staffers had nicknames such as Shigeru Miyamoto being known as Miyahon, or Takashi Tekuza being Ten Ten , or Keiji Inafune (Capcom) being Inafking

  • errrrrm...

this was first than SMB2 and actually SMB2 is a remake for USA of this game.. or what do you think? nintendo is from USA? nope.. is a JAPANESE company, they make games in japan before than in the occident world.

  • nop, Mario and this game Doki doki panic both were created by the same person, I think its name is Shigeru Miyamoto

  • oh strange he's not in the credit and Yes Shigeru Miyamoto is the creator of Mario

  • well, i searched why they changed the games, and i found something that said that nintendo took another game from miyamoto and remplaced the main characters

  • He is, they mispelled his name as "Miyahan" (just like they did in Zelda)

  • isnt it miyahon?

  • OMG RAAAAARRRRRRRRRR

  • "PLEASE SET SIDE A"

It's hard to imagine a time where a console loaded it's games from writable floppy disks.

  • this version is infirior and weird compared with smb2, since the dpcm soundchannel was in most cases not used etc,,,

weird is the fact that you had to flip the game at one point like a cassette,

,m happy with my smb2 game cuzz it has simmilair themas, graphics to smb3,and despites the different gameplay, it perfectly fits in the smb sequel.

  • This one is more amusing in some ways

  • yeah.. too bad this "inferior" game is the one SMB2 copied in order to exist hehe.. the irony ¬¬

  • cool

  • wow mario copied off this

  • well done

  • crazy ass ending.

  • If not for this game, Yoshi's Island wouldn't have Shy Guys!

  • we wouldnt even have shy guys to begin with

  • That's a very good point! Especially since Shy Guys are my favorite Super Mario characters ever!

  • I see, this is different then "Super Mario Bros. 2." 1. Whats the story for SMB2? 2. The ending is different then "Super Mario Bros. 2"

    3. The ad has Mario in it.

  • You know this was made by Shigeru Miyamoto because of some of the mario elemts in it such as the coin noise, the POW blocks, the jump noise, and the starman. and he tried to cover it up at the end by putting Miyahon as his last name.

  • If I remember correctly, Zelda II also referred to Miyamoto as Miyahon.

  • please set side A? what does that mean?
