  • Ian Anderson from Tull? hahahaha

  • To my ear, vocally, this sounds a bit like Willie Nelson doing a cover of the classic Blind Faith song, but I'm diggin it. The guitar playing is mad evocative. This take is definitely original in sound, so big props to you!

  • Great job Rick..

  • This is one of my Favourite songs of all time..I was expecting to hate this..I am a bit of a 'purist'.I guess you could say..I prefer original Artists...You haven't done too bad a job Ricky...Nobody is Steve Winwood or 'Blind Faith'..but,good work..I will check out more of your Music...Hmmm...Interesting version..:)

  • I didn't know Stephen Stills had covered this lovely song.. :-) great work!

  • Thank you for this version, finally a chord structure that fits my limited vocal range.

  • Very Nice Ricky.

  • Very nice! IN some ways better than the Steve Winwood version :) Thanks!

  • love this cover. best i've heard yet. wonderfully played. nice take on this song. and i love the way you sing it.

  • WOW.

  • you give this better treatment than clapton did in so many of his later renditions (no muzak here ) .....the fingering is the gold....very nice !

  • Looks like a Tom Waits Billy Childish version of Blind Faith. Pretty fucking cool.

  • Great!

  • Dude, I'm impressed , and I'm hard to impress , This is a great cover in a Leon Redbone fashion , Yet with originality . 5 stars ,

  • gee, friend, don't put so much stuff on your vocal track , that doesn't help. good luck

  • thsi is a very nice version of the song...nice job Ricky! ^/^

  • Man, talk about benefits of punchin' in the 'ole echo and reverb knobs! Grandeur in simplicity. And what kinda pathetic moron would punch the dislike red button for this marvelous Ricky Shades cover of "THE" quintessential Blind Faith classic. Fabulous vid. 110% rated.

  • Interesting interpretation. Still has the heart, but from a different direction. Different isn't bad, just different.

  • Thank YOU for comments. It's also one of my fav songs. Performers are usually their own worse critic and I've been meaning to someday redoing this song with better sound quality. I wish I could find the B/W video taken of me doing this song in the middle of an empty, garbage strewn lot (lol) in NYC in 1971 filmed by filmmaker and video pioneer Bill Creston.

  • Very nice version of a timelessly classic song

  • Out of all your videos, I like this one the most ----it's TOPS!

  • Out of all your videos, I like this one the most! It is TOPS!!!! Keep on picking!!!

  • Bravo!

  • Real nice guitar playing. I like your voice but I can't hear too well in this video. Post more and turn up your voice volume.

  • Very cool. I went to you website to take a better look at it. I cant believe u r doing all that using a flat pick. Thanks for the free show here.

  • This is one of my favorite songs. You are very smooth on that picking. So far I like this one the best, you look like yourre enjoying it too.
