  • I have Ben Nye products and I am going to be getting their foundations for my kit and right now they run about $8 bucks and there are a few stores within 5 blocks from my home that sell them.

  • Hi,Could you recommend a drugstore/ beauty supply dupe for Mac's lipglass-Ornamenta?

  • Black Opal has great well-pigmented color and feel compared to most of the drugstore brands out there period. They, Revlon and the L'Oreal HIP are worth spending your money on and the CG Queen Collection bronzing powders.

With the other brands their mascaras may be worth it.

  • I don't know WHY for the love of God the UK sleeps so heavily on the L'Oreal HIP when normal L'Oreal is just like everywhere! But they do sadly.... And the UK never sells Cover Girl so sadly the CG Queen Collection's excellent dark bronzers just won't come overe at all! :(

  • Hey lady.. I would like to purchase some ben nye... do you remember the store you purchased it from... I live in the baltimore area... thanks

  • I find Ben Nye, in my opinion, comparable to MAC and the other pricier brands. It gives a high level of coverage becuase it's stage makeup and made to hold up under the heat of stage lights. The only thing is that i find it's a bit heavy. I have some left over from my modeling days and had no idea it's still available. I'll be looking for it now! Thanks.

  • OMG! the same thing happened to me when i was 15 yrs old. i went to the mall and the lady helped me pick the iman loose powder foundation, and she didnt know what she was dioing, but i didnt either when i got home... lol!

  • need better lighting because your beautiful but we cat see you!!!!!!

  • ben nye creme rouge is...amazing @ least :)

  • loved the catonsville shout out lol... just wanted to say that i love your tutorials, i have been watching them all night

  • Awesome video. Very Informative. And black opal really is not a bad brand. I have never tried the stick foundation so I cannot comment on that. But I have tried some of their other products and they work well for me. Keep up the videos though. Love it!

  • thanks! I like these vids

  • what cn i use to make my eyeshaadow last all day?

  • @imsofablous primer?

  • it was covergirl

  • I love black opal & covergirl queen, but I find black opal foundation stick is lighter. CS have a GREAT discount this week on cosmetics, all loreal shadows duo $5.oo, maybellinebuy 1 get 1 free. I bought the lipstick the new black tube NICE! The photoshop ready buy 1 get 1 free, the thing with the p.s. ready soon when I put the foundation on with in minutes my face was stinging like crazy & broke out with tiny bumps. I really wish I can use it, so natural looking on me.

  • I was glad to hear you mention Iman's foundation. I ordered a stick foundation from her line for the first time a few days ago. I was a little nervous about it because the swatches I viewed weren't too helpful, but I heard a woman on Youtube talking about one particular shade and...long story short, I ordered it, got it two days later, and it's actually perfect.

  • Thank you! for this video. I usually use Bobbie Brown but decided I had to switch (due to finances) to Iman, at least for foundation. I'm still struggling with finding a concealer that brightens my under eye area. Do yo have any recommendations. I used to use Bobbi Brown's "eye brightener" but, the product was reformulated plus they raised the price for half the product. I'm trying to accomplish the wide awake well rested look.

  • I am looking for the NYX ~ Iced Coffee ES was it discontinued?

  • that plastic sheet is from L'real and yeah its Bs the shade never matches your face.

  • Thank you for the tips on ben nye and building a kit bc even though I sooo dont think I'm ready...this lady wants me to do makeup for her wedding next yr....

  • you are so helpfull

  • Black Opal Products are hypo-allergenic but it does not say comedogenic which means will not clog your pores...that has been my personal experience

  • it has to be non-comedogenic so that it won't clog your pores, but I've read that they put some not so friendly stuff in their foundations etc. user be ware.

  • I have the sensitive, oily skin that breaks out in a shine in a few hours...I do love the Black Opal Finishing Powder I mix the Medium and Dark colors and apply with a kabuki brush for full coverage on weekends. Does not break me out. And it is affordable. Tried to find a cheaper alternative to Bobbi Brown, but Bobby Brown does not break me out.

  • Black Opal Stick Foundation is great for coverage and color matching; however it made me break out after using it for a week or so...so mad cause the color (Beautiful Bronze) is spot on for me...I

  • please help how to get rid of oily skin

  • I have a video all about oily skin, you should do a search on my homepage for it!

  • could you please do a tutorial on your eyemakeup for the drugstore products. I bought the H.I.P. pencil and I like it, but I'd like to pull off the look youu have, I love it!

  • i think its rediculous that cover girl comes out w/a line that you cant find it at any stores. my cousin has been ordering everything online. btw, you have beautiful flawless skin.

  • i love ur videos and ur pretty too.thanks

  • The hand test was Loreal True Match (lol) I use that foundation and I remember picking it out.

  • have you ever tried the revelon colorstay liquid foundation???

  • @MiSsV117 I have and it works pretty well if you have dry or combo skin. If you have oily skin, I don't recommend it because it will leave you with an oil slick within 3-4 hrs. Other than that it does have a matte finish and stays on for hours. I recommend it.

  • Mm..If I used MAC, I would be a NW40, plus I have red undertones if that helps any..

  • What foundation do you prefer for brown skin, of course for oily -sensitive skin?

I know that it would help if I had a pic of myself on my profile or even a video, but I will get there. Any suggestions?

  • MAC Studio Fix Powder stays on pretty good, even without a face primer. I'm oily/combo/sensitive, and it stays on well for me and doesn't break me out. BUT when I put it on my neck area, I get bumps, not sure why. Not my face tho.

  • where can i get ben nye?

  • lol i agree! im VERY darkskinned so i thought soft sable would be the right covergirl shade for me because it seemed like it mathched my skintone but when i put it on my face it was SOO DARK. i really dont know what color i should be wearing & i cant afford to keep buying things so i dont wear anything even though i really want to. plus my skin is REALLY OILY so its like the makeup just melts away. omg the first time i wore it out in school[[high school]] i was SO EMBARASSED BECAUSE IT MELTED.

  • @soufwesthoustontx If you're having that hard a time then drugstore foundation isn't for you because they doon't let you refund. So you MUST go to the department store then. It may be a pain but at least you can try without wasting time and money.

Just go in the daytime especially a bright day, so that you can look at the foundation outside the store in your mirror. I hate the lying dept. store lights; they will make you waste money too!

  • i brought that same lip gloss the other day. i love it

that pecious ( i know i spelled that wrong, but it is ok.)

  • Did the Ben Nye break you out?

  • I love your videos and your website...Can you suggest another eye stick because I purchased the NYX and I almost lost my mind, they burned so bad. Thanks, you so rock

  • me and ohh baby by MAC are best friends! I wear it practically everyday. Thanks for the fake out tip. i'll look for it locally. I only wear MAC now with the exception of Clinique mascara. I need to find some cheaper alternatives. thanks for the vid!

  • Hey do u kno of an foundation base that do not make the skin oily any recommendations because i use a base foundation and it makes my face oily then i use a covergirl loose powder

  • This is going to sound crazy, but as a girl with very oily skin Milk of Magnesia applied on the face in a very small amount does wonders to control oil under my foundation throughout the day. Seriously, it's amazing and super cheap and works better than anything I've tried! Just make sure you don't apply too much or else your face will look powdery and white. It works as a great foundation primer!

  • Thank you so much for your videos...you are my go to girl for makeup!

  • hi I love your videos

    can you help me?

okay well I'm in the eighth grade and for graduation

I want to look stunning (I have perfect dress and hair style) but I have a problem because I don't usually wear make up liek only lipgloss and eye shadow and that's only sometimes.

plus I don't even know how to put it on properly and my mom being a cheapo wants to buy a whole big make up set instead of buying things separately I have the same skin tone as you

    plzzzzzzz help :)

    plz n tnx :P

  • if you google it all sorts of websites sell them ...even ebay xsparkage talks about ben nye a LOT ...ben nye is the shit :)

  • very good advice.

  • So would you recommend Ben Nye for everyday use?

  • You are very pretty ... you could have pie on your face and still look stunning...but I'll take your advice.

  • love this. yeah, that CG eventually oxidizes on me later in the day. I used to rock the smoothers liquid though. i'm loving revlon custom creations, color stay & loreal true match liquid. thanks so much for sharing!

  • I love your videos they are always informative plus you have great energy.

  • Erin, I totally & completely agree with you on Ben Nye. I absolutely love their products!

  • Both CoverGirl and Loreal do that little "put your wrist under this shade" thingy. I actually had luck with Loreal's TrueMatch line.

    Thanks for the tips!

  • Hey Erin,

This is kind of off subject here. But I wanted to know if you know anything about applying rhinestone makeup. I love glitter and anything shiny. So I was wondering if you could do a tutorial about either glitter or rhinestones or both if you have the time!

    Thanks!!

  • I am a BLACK OPAL stick lover to the bottom of my soul!!! Hard to find now a days, hear they are trying to discontinue it. I go on eBay and RACK UP!!! THANKs for other options, I may be Shh outta luck soon.

  • I love Black Opal stick and finishing powder.

  • LOL....Nw60!!

  • What's your IMAN Cream to Powder Foundation shade, Clay 3?

  • Have you tried any of the Iman foundations or other Iman products?

  • Thanks for the heads-up on all the great bargain makeup. I also love Milani glosses. Their great.

  • i loooooove all the HIP lip glosses! and i never buy them for full price! im making a really ridiculous list of stuff to buy right now! lol

  • I feel you. I've finshed the shadow collection. now onto to the glosses

  • Thanks so much, Erin!

  • Hi erin!! which store in dc did you purchase your ben nye foundation from?

  • you look soo pretty!

  • iM soooooo glad to see you doing something for ladies like me,thats not spending $50.00 for a brush.lol.Thanks Erin your great.

  • You love to say blah blah LOL. I find myself doing it now from watchin your videos.

  • Hey Erin, just wanted to say you're doing an AMAZING, HA-MAZING job :)... i spent my whole spring break shopping for makeup using your recommendations ...lol...love it :)

  • Your rockin this look! Very Nice!

  • Beautiful!!! I'm going to have to buy those HIP products because of you. Thank you friend. (If only in my head)! :)

  • WOW, NYX pencil are expensive there! They are only .99 cent here (Memphis). And now they have a new design and they are 2 inches longer (more product) and the same price! BTW: I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE NYX pencils! I'll go to MAC and they will have a pencil I like and I will find a NYX dup. Haven't found a NYX dup to MAC's Vino yet though. Thanks for this vid.

  • I bought MAC Studio Tech in NC50 and it made me look dead, but then I got the Black Opal in Nutmeg and it fit me PERFECTLY. The stick foundation is the bomb and my Studio Tech sits unused. Don't sleep it on it, ladies!

  • i love the brazen HIP eyeshadow to girl, i use the pink part as a blush all the time..and i have a dark complexion

  • I was actually thinking of buying Bobbi Brown skin foundation, until I found the new Maybeline dream mousse foundation. and I have like darkest end of the AfroAm spectrum skin and it works really well for me. (But their blushes suck).

  • OK give up the store for Ben Nye. I will drive to DC or do we have a store in maryland

  • girl how you forgot black radiance?! best blushes and bronzers hands down!!!

  • yeah im sleeping on been nye but i'm a drugstore girl recently became a kinda sorta mac girl and heading up to more expensive stuff when i can. ebay is your friend y'all! i can't stress that enough. i don't mess with lip pencils like that but i have been eyeing nyx. on cam your foundation looked so dark maybe it was just the light? but when you took the pic everything came together. in the meantime i am going to ebay that gloss LOL!

  • You looked absolutely beautiful!!!!! Great video! It's nice that you covered this topic, for us bargain divas

  • Thanks, Lemonchic, I'd appreciate that!

  • you look absolutely gorgeous in this video :) . i love your videos, they are always really informative

  • hey lady

do you use sasha cosmetics? any in particular? it's big here in trini so lemme know :)

  • interesting. I do love Iman, though in the UK it is just as pricey as MAC and Fashion Fair. The UK absolute highly pigmented brand is Sleek Makeup. they will be spreading their wings to the usa soon.

Been hearing about Black Opal for years but have not tried.

oh Yeah I find Iman cream to powder the easiest to wash off compared to other foundations

  • @Sofrolushes Oh NO! Look away NOW America! Because Sleek is the WORST! Take a look at their lipsticks, glosses, loose shadows, and maybe their blushes but their foundations are from the pit of hell!

Their foundations and powders at Sleek are straight up red like a lipstick, all of em. I looked at em and said WTH?!?

  • @jrmetmoi nver tried Sleek foundations as of yet. But I do love their eyeshadows lipsticks and lipgloss and blush

  • I wish they catered for women of colour in my country!!!! :S

    You look great!

  • yes i love nyx. i bought them in every color. i got them for a $1 though. Question were would i find ben nye

  • Hi where did you get NYX for a $1.00

  • Hi, I've seen NYX at dollar stores DOLLAR TREE, and DEALS

  • I love the foundation on you! Your skin looks flawless from my view!

  • i love brazen2 although oddly enough i've never used it as actual eyeshadow. i got dressed in the semi dark once and coudnt find my brow powder..brazen was out so i used that brown and went out..i never saw myself in natural light..9hrs later i caught a glimps of myself in the mirror andwas suprised to see this reddish/pinky/earthen clay color on my brows..i fel in luv..now i use it as my regular brow color! that brown is so tricky! it looks so randomly brown in the pot, but is so pretty on.

  • HOT! I wore the brown in my brows in this video!

  • you look so pretty!

  • o ye were u bought ya stuff?

  • i swear by iman...iman is my lover.lol..well a powder atleast lol..i need 2 try black opal too..i dont like da cover girl stuff anymore..yuckk

  • Great Information!

  • Black opal is the best foundation. The color matches are phenomenal. I have tried so many different brands including mac, fashion fair, covergirl, etc and non of them compare to black opal foundation for my brown skin!

  • Thank as always!!!!!

  • haha duuufuuss - sorry havnt heard that used in ages :) really want a ben nye pallet

  • I love the look you have on. You look very pretty.

  • I have olive skin and i find it hard to find drugstore foundations that match my skin tone. I think most of them are made for people with fair skin or pink undertones.

  • i felt the same way for sooo long, infact i still havnt found a great drug store brand!

  • @lipglosswhore4life What's wrong with adding a little more depth and warmth? It's a free country where I am baby! Yeah!
