  • Not only do you do exactly what active duty does but you stay in one spot your whole career. Hey if moving every year and uprooting your family is what you're looking for, more power to you. I would like my family to stay where I grew up and still serve my country. Meanwhile earning a college degree, and holding a great paying civilian job. Active duty needs National Guard and NG needs AD. One team one fight! Everyone has their own preference, but NG is a great and crucial asset to our nation.

  • Wow... Anyone who commented that the NG is a waste of time must be retarded. The national guard is an elite force of many educated individuals! The funny thing is, NG is one weekend a month and they get the same benefits basically. Education paid for, VA benefits, retirement, and more! Not only do you recieve these benefits but you can help your own community! My community was recently struck by a horrible flood. Nothing like rolling up to your own neighbors house in a LMTV and helping them.

  • SurfingCali69, We all know that you're just jelous or too lazy to appreciate these heros. So do the world a favor, shut the fuck up.

  • I just enlisted in the Guard

  • National guard , underpaid security guards for corporate America , expendable , easily replaced, waste of your time and life being in an unprofitable - uneducated -no benefit- job- with less then a welfare check retirement.

  • its funny the people that say this is of waste of time probley couldnt even survive basic IF U DONT WANNA SAY ANYTHING GOOD DONT WATCH THE VID whos really wasting time

  • Marine Corp- for the brainless illiterate morons of america

  • National Guard- waste of time

    - putting your life on hold for a part time \ life time commitment.

    - state not federal - you don't even qualify for veterans preference on exams , that's including state exams civil service in your state.

    - no VA benefits if your injured on state duty

    - have to do 20 years to be VA qualified or to even be considered a veteran.

  • @surfingcali69 I did a year in Iraq, in the NG, I get veteran's preference, va benefits, disability, and i do 20 years to RETIRE. A veteran is one who served their country overseas, in a war.

  • Hooah! Proud to be a part of it. Ohio

  • Jerky - I'd be a police officer, sounds like a crack neighborhood!

  • Jermey- your a tool and a fool

The national guard is like being in the cub scouts, the active duty military does not respect you national guard want a bees , so next time your at your unit look around at the fat guts , and when your at your civilian job driving a patrol car look and see if your guts in the way of the steering wheel, and when Rambo trashes your town don't tell your CO that you have to be back at the office monday

  • Your state military _ not federal _ no VA benefits _ no veterans preference for federal city or even " state jobs" how funny is that!!!!

Joining the national guard, if your activated for a national emergency like 911 an act if WAR- terrorism and your hurt, your not covered thru the state or VA your fucked!

  • You won't get any respect in the National Guard you tool !!!!

    * no federal points toward retirement or veterans credits!

    * your an expendable fool , IRS state not federal military and they will screw you if you get hurt putting your claim in the garbage!!

    * put your life on hold in the National Guard

    * unemployable in the civilian job market

    * highest suicide rate - google national guard suicide rate. The head of the national guard acknowledges this to the press.

    * high PSTD rate for life

  • @surfingcali69

I think any person who wears a uniform to protect the citizens of their country is respected, ignorant bitch. Its about service to your country, unless you've served than your mouth.

  • @surfingcali69 Bro, are you stupid? All that shit you said isn't true. How you that dumb? I mean seriously? National Guard is just as important as Air Force, Marines, Army, Navy. Still protecting your country. Protecting your freedom. So I'd shut the fuck up if I were you. Plus, this is part time. You'd have a civiillian job. For me, I'd be a police officer / MP. So yeah, shut the fuck up.

  • Stepping forward. This could me my chance, to finally earn some respect.

  • Just Enlisted :)

  • Hooah! Proud citizen-soldier!(;

  • hopefully I will be going to MEPS this friday to join. Go Guard!

  • I personally only have great things to say about the guard. I've been in for 11 years and I enjoyed my time as a private as well as an NCO. I've earned 2 college degrees payed for by the guard. Traveled to places I other wise would have never traveled to.... Seen things most people will never see. I'm from Louisiana and worked With hurricane Katrina, Ike and gustov. Nothing but heroes! If your from Louisiana and interested in joining the guard call me.... I only speak the truth!! I'm SFC Mike M

  • @mikimilton21 I wish to join the National Guard and i want to now if its a full time job, i plan to be an 88M driver.

  • I don't see why we send guardsmen overseas. Hence the word NATIONAL not INTERNATIONAL. We need the National Guard here in the US to protect us from these damn crips and bloods and mafia.

  • @Rantalicious The term National Guard is based on the New York militia changing their name to National Guard, because it was a French military unit that a French advisor (revolutionary war) commanded. The renamed their militia to honor of him

  • ok... 1 thing is not clear to me: as US guardsmen, can you be deployed overseas when ordered or are you free tbase? cause im going to join the dutch national guard next month and here its only inside my country. if you want deployment you heve to sign up for it.

  • FOR ALL YOU FUCK ASS DEMONS OUT THERE SHUT THE HELL UP AND GO BACK TO THE PITS OF HELL WHERE YOU CAME FROM.!!!! TALKING SHIT ABOUT PEOPLE WHO SERVE AND PROTECT EVERYDAY. WHILE YOU ARE AT HOME EATING AND WATCHING CABLE TV THESE WOMEN AND MEN ARE PUTTING THERE LIFE ON THE LINE TO PROTECT US AND OUR NATION. SO YOU AND YOUR FAMILYS ROT STRAIGHT TO HELL. YOU DON'T LIKE THIS COUNTRY GET THE HELL OUT.

  • 3:18 MTARNG!

  • Heroes.

  • Hooah! Just joined Arkansas army national guard three months ago!

  • This guys a tool haha Stfu u probably wont due shit with your life now, and u joined the least paying military branch cuz were part time you tool

  • Right now Im currently getting ready to join, but I do have one obstacle which is my asthma, but if I can receive a medical waver through MEPS then I will be set to go. But I believe that even if you do have asthma and you still want to serve I think you l

Should be allowed to. Statistically speaking more and more people are being diagnosed with asthma and if that's true they will have to start rethinking enlistment standards. Besides pulling out an inhaler is no different than reloading your w

  • I enlisted for the money... as turns out, as a private, they get paid 3,000 a year.. which is 250 bucks a month.

  • @blackyblackblack505 well duh.... seriously 1 you're an idiot for enlisting for the money.2 you dont get paid much at all is cause with the national guard you can hold a job as a guard and get a civilian job as well. but you my friend are a greedy bastard who just looked for an easy way out and you got bit in the ass

  • @ladiezman247 Do you honestly think the military is an easy way out? LOL you sir are retarded. Pride and honor are words to get you to sacrafice yourself; I'd like to think that evolution made me smarter than that. I'd rather be the one sending YOU into battle while I watch in my two story mansion we all call the white house.

  • @blackyblackblack505 lma did i say it was an easy way no i said it was your easy way out cause you enlisted for the money so dont talk to me about pride and honor while you contridict your self saying you enlisted for the money you sir are the fool i enlisted for pride and honor while you enlisted for money. so re read what your saying befor you make your self look like a fool

  • @ladiezman247 Exactly dude! I enlisted for the money and look at how shitty they pay us! That is OBVIOUSLY NOT the easy way out lol. Your pride and honor makes you feel good? That's o.k. with me you can go up in front while I sit in the back and watch you lol. When I use my intellect and logic to win wars you'll see that there is little honor killing other people.

  • @blackyblackblack505 you my friend are the fool like i said you tried looking for an easy way out but yet. your lame greedy ass didnt due reserch you get paid little. but you my friend are a disgrace.id rather die with honor then be dishonorable my whole life.

  • @blackyblackblack505 Wow buddy, your moral compass is so fucked up I would be suprised if you could find your own car in a parking lot. You have no intellectual knowledge or logic. You my friend are mistaking these atributes for greed. MONEY? Really? That's why you joined? lol WOW you must have been the punch line for a few days at the recruiting station. You're name is ladiezman... you're fucking lame dude.

  • @ladiezman247

I want to enlist in the Military for their training. Most of the special operation classes that I want to join requires a military background. If you're joining the military for money, there must be something wrong with you. Even if you're paid highly, you need to factor the transitional skills you can bring with you to civilian life. I'm just worried that once I join, I get shipped out to suicide missions. That's not cool.

  • @nickintp there never gonig to send you on a "suicide mission" they'll give you the skills to make it out of a fight alive and well you just have to use them and be uber focused. There will aways be a light at the end of the tunnel dont worry about the training the army will take care of that

    3rd Infantry Division

  • @nickintp Suicide missions? LMAO Are you sure you joined the right side?

  • "We live in the best country in the world. Why not fight to protect it?"

  • I here so many stories on how bullshit the military can be. Like they lie and deceive you. That's why I am afraid of joining

  • anyone who thinks the ng isnt as good as the other services, fuck you. the ng helps at the U.S. and overseas study your fucking shit.

  • I want to be a full time soldier , but I am married with a son. I believe joining the National Guard allows you to serve your country and be home with your family as well. Now if my wife wanted to leave her job and her family behind on her Owen, I would go Active Duty but it is a lot for me to ask of her just to do those thing for me.there for I join the National Guard .

  • NG=Gay...man up and join the real army

  • @88M325TC It's not gay :/ We help at home and over seas. What are you doing for the country?

  • @88M325TC HEY STFU U DUMB 5 YEAR OLD THE NATIONAL GUARD DOES THE SAME WORK U JUST GET A CITIZE JOB AD SPEND MORE TIME WIT R FAMILY AT THE SAME TIME. ID LIKE TO SEE YOU GO OUT THERE YOU FUCKING PRICK.

  • In the UK you have to be 16 to join the army.....but you have to be 18 to play modern warfare 2...

  • @rainbowplastic looooooool.

  • @rainbowplastic 16 really??

  • @ARMA365 well 15 and 9 months actually

  • so now my good ol buddy is going to afghanistan, national gaurd was supposed to keep it clear, ended up having trouble with taliban coming back and regrouping in afghanistan. at least we know the usmc and other military branches will get it done....right.

  • im 17 and im going to join :)

  • All this inter-service rivalry garbage really has to stop on this page .... Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard are all brothers in arms. Each has a part to play and they're all equally strong.

  • Stupid State of California eliminated medical benefits for our guardsman in this state. I would of enlisted but I joined the Marine Corps. If they didn't take away the medical benefits then I would of joined

  • I want to be a Army National guard Combat Medic

  • I don't know what to think, I hear the recruiters lie like mother fuckers. All I know is that I want to do something important, and serving the country seems to be fulfilling enough.

  • @88Sublime96

Not all recruiters lie, mine didn't and im glad that he didn't otherwise i would've been really pissed

  • hoooah hoooah hoooah! 18b camp rilea oregan

  • HOOAH!!!! 35W

  • can u jion if u have asthuma. i really need to know

  • @BryanL14k no

  • ask a recruiter, that really the only way you can findout. trust their judgement, not random ppl

  • disgusting

  • @usmcrifleman07 Like your bitch ass face. Other marines here say you can't fix stupid. This is about you. From me in Iraq.

  • disgusting

  • well i take my asvab test tomrrow and if i pass i get sworn in, ill keep in touch.

  • :[ my brothers going into the national gaurd its sad :(

  • im 26 years old im thinking about joining, im already talking to a recruiter but i been having douts. i just scared im gonna get into the national and not like it there.

  • go for it jo, i joined a little while back and i love it. i'm 27

  • @joj0724 well the hardest part is basic and ait. You make friends and enemies. After all that when you get to your home station you will like it better.

  • @joj0724

if u have doubts ask ur recruiter if u can go to an rsp weekend with em

  • goodluck to our buddies out, I love being in this, I am proud

  • my best friend just joined the Air National Guard and i couldn't be prouder i am a little worried but that is just expected i am proud of all of our troops here in the states and the soldiers who are abroad. god bless and be safe

  • who the fuck is luke?

  • your father

  • It seems like you've fallen for the conformist american consumer culture, Mr. Eddie Van Halen.

    Fuck off.

  • Your a funny guy. Care to explain why you think so? Or you just feel like repeating words you don't understand?

  • what are you like 13 get reaL

  • how much do the natinal gurad get pay?

  • depends on your rank and if your in school or not.

  • Plus most people who join don't really care about their paycheck it's really in the back of their mind. They join mostly because they want to do whats best for their country.

  • @zlighting200

Amen to that zlighting200, i just joined the guard 2 months ago and i could care less that i get paid once a month right now

  • @zlighting200 Thats why I joined, FOR COUNTRY!!!! National Guard just seemed the best, I can help HERE and OVERSEAS.

  • @MrFuckyouintheneck I am Joining the Marine Corps and to you I say to you, Go for it, There ain't no time wasting. OO-RAH

  • @zlighting200 AND the college

  • hooah

  • The National Guard is hardcore.

  • Just gunna have Christmas with my family this year, and then I'll probably sign up. Btw, anyone know what the two mile run has to be under?

  • For 17-21 year olds you have to run two miles under 15:54

  • pv2kurtb:

Thx for the info. Im set then, lol.

  • pv2kurtb:

Sorry to ask another question, but let's say if I do my time for 2 years. And im still in for another 6 years to be called back, can I travel out of country during the 6 years? Or if i want to move out of country?

  • Yea you should be able to travel out of country. During my last deployment, they pulled guys out from Korea and Germany.

  • pv2kurb:

    Thx!

  • Yes you can travel out of country but be sure to inform your commander. I know there is some sort of policy.

  • thats easy for me now but idkk about then. my one mile is 5:40

  • This video is so motivating. And embodies what we true Soldiers are. 28th Infantry Division, Pennsylvania Army National Guard. Putting Active Duty units to shame since 1879.

    This We'll Defend!

  • i want to join the 28th after ROTC. How do you like PA national guard?

  • I wouldn't want to be anywhere else! As the most deployed National Guard state, we have equipment that Active Duty units don't even have. We're also the only National Guard to have a Stryker Brigade Combat Team, which just came home from Iraq recently. We are the best, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. You're making an awesome choice.

  • how long were you guys deployed?

  • One year

  • I was deployed in Iraq for a year

then I was in Afganistan for a year

    while in the national guard

  • 4 yrs till i can and will join

  • national guards saved my life during blizzard

    of 1978 in massachusettes

    what would that be army?

they came and rescued me in a big green

hummer snow everywhere we couldnt see

    the street....I am grateful

  • I would love to be in the National Guard, I like what they stand for. I don't want to join the Marines, they're just a bunch of people who WANT to kill people - besides, every ex-marine that I know is a fucking moron. I got turned down from the National Guard for having Asthma, but at least I tried.

  • Maybe your state has a state defense program. My state (Virginia) has the Virginia Defense Force. Kind of like the National Guard except you can't be deployed to another country and I don't believe theres a bootcamp. You can still serve that way possibly if your state has that? Or maybe a Police officer, Paramedic, of Firefighter.

  • Don't judge all by a few, that's rather ignorant.

    - Former Marine, and not a moron as you put it. And I'm making the transition to the Guard.

  • Yea asthma has a high likelyhood of killing you or incapacitating you during BCT.

  • @cripplesmasher

They probably turned you down because of your attitude toward the Military.

  • Poison12346

you should not talk shit excpecialy for a guy that hasnt even made it threw basic. n ur complaining about the guards standards being to high for you. a person that has the stones to talk shit about people serving their country will make nothing more the a substandard soldier, citizen, father or son

  • Show some fucking respect. There are guard members in Iraq serving their fifth tour right there in the mud and blood with the USMC, some of them not coming home for up to two years at a time.

you obviously are, and never have been, and for the sake of this country i hope you never are a marine. A soldier would have shown more respect.

  • Well you make sure to let those soldiers fighting right alongside you how much of a pussy you think they are.

  • Like they're gonna do something about it.

I don't hate the soldiers... I just hate the people in charge of them.

  • Fuck you. We're all fighting for the same country last time I checked. If you don't like it than get the hell out of the United States of America. We stand united, not diveded. Some of these guys might not even return from combat and might not ever see their families again. And for you to say their pussys. Any one that talks shit about the military is a pussy themselves.

  • @TheActionGuy1 - If you feel that strongly I hope you answer the call and can gratefully serve for our Armed Forces. It's a great privilege. God Bless America

  • @neelysam Thanks. I'm thinking about joining the Air Force.

  • @TheActionGuy1 I'm Prior Service Active Duty USAF, and my brother spent over 10 years in the California Air Guard. We both enjoyed our time & learned valuable skills that we still utilize today in our current jobs. Congrats on considering joining and I hope you do; for the Country, The Brotherhood, and for yourself. I'm looking into going back to serve again via Army NG. HOOAH!

  • the last month of my second deployment we were given a platoon of National Guard "Soldiers" to pull guard while we went on missions, did patrols, and convoys(the real soldier stuff). These guys were so fucked up we had to pull them out of the towers in two days. One guy would forget to bring his weapon to guard, one would be playing his PSP, the other wouldnt wear any gear at all and sleep in the tower. We put all these NG "soldiers" on permanent KP because thats all they were good for.

  • @Armyscout1979 there not all that way.....

  • fuck this, im just gonna go to school!

  • I wanna be in the NG...I don't live the military life, though. I'm 15, and a 10th grader. I wanna be a soldier and a medic.

I'm the first female who will serve in my family. Since Grandpa's time, no one has served in my family. (He was a Marine in his 20s, now he's in his 70s and dropped out at 24.)

I really want this...I'm a girl in a suburb that's 1 square mile. But I can do this.:)

  • If you want to be a field medic why the National guard?

  • ...Are there medics who work in hospitals AND on the field???

  • Well who do you think keeps them alive until they get to a field hospital?

  • Oh...Haha. (Anime sweatdrop)

Heehee...But I want to be a soldier too.

  • Combat medics, take a look into that.

  • Thank youz!!!<3

  • No probs, good luck!

  • <3333333333333

  • none of my friends would join with me ahhahaa i go to boot camp by myself in 120 days :D muahahahahahahahaha!

  • I'd go with you. If I was old enough...

  • i was in a national guard boot camp with my cousin and 4 of our friends when i was about 14 or 15, the way these guys are trained is no joke, we all dropped except for one of my friends whose in the army atm

  • I live in California. What state you in?

  • Comment removed

  • I might join the national guard 2 years from now.

  • in basic i have to say from what i saw in other people is that its the hardest 9 weeks in your life

  • I just signed up and am leaving for training in august...Ive been training my fitness pretty hard..what else can I expect from basic training?

  • I think i may be joining you. What state you in?

  • Ive been in the guard for about a year and a half. Anyway, has any one else noticed that their taking away the national guards tanks? just wondering

  • How is the guard over all to you? And what do you mean they are taking the tanks away?

  • They're trying to turn the national guard into a primarily light infantry type role, they will still have tanks but in reduced numbers. they will instead be fielding primarily strikers and bradlys instead.

on a side note I heard something along the lines of the federal government dosent want tanks in the hands of the state but that was just a rumor.

dosent matter to me anymore anyway, i got discharged a week ago from the guard. Im switching over to the Marine Corps.

    Semper Fi

    Oorah

  • well on that side of your's. the U.S Army is reducing it's tank numbers. that's for both active and Guard. tanks are not needed that much any more in modern warfare as they where 20 years ago. like the knights of old tanks will go away.

  • HOOAH! i can't wait till i enlist in about 4 weeks

  • I'm going to the UofA right now and I want to enlist, but is it a good idea? Can anybody tell me the pros and cons?

  • Hey man, U of A? Arkansas????

  • NO! IDIOT!

    University of Alabama!

  • oh. Im from Arkansas, and live near the U of Ar. So i was just wondering.

  • Oh, ok.

  • I've been in a year and a half, going on two. I would make NO changes, and have NO second thoughts about being in. Im very glad. There are no cons, besides being away from home, and probally put into danger. But the pros are endless, and you will never be the same (in a good way).

  • Thanks for doin' what you do.

  • What are Pros and Cons?

  • @MustangMalone refuse!

  • i go to talk to a recruiter next week any advice about basic training would be appreciated

  • yea, get ready to wait, at least on the east coast that is, don't know about the west. I'm in Virginia, and actualy signing my contract and swearing in thursday, first off. MEPS will suck, and you may need to go back a second, third, fourth, fith, ect. time.MEPS is the MILITARY ENTRANCE PROSESSING STATION.they will DQ you for anything(medical) possible. But first and formost, try and schedule an ASVAB,you have to score over a50 to enlist right now, although the normal standard is 35. so start studying

  • what is there to study to get ready for the ASVAB

  • ASVAB for dummies...really look into the electronics section and construction section. everything else is basically common sense. math wise just know how to multiply large numbers and divide. also know your basics of geometry...triangles in particular....how gears work...etc...I just took mine last week and scored well enough for officer school and intel school but I dont know my exact score yet.

  • hey does anybody know the song in the beginning of the video?

  • Alabama Army National Guard 31B here

  • juneau, ak

thats how we do it motha fucka

  • OHIO ARMY NATIONAL GUARD!!! HOOAH!!!
