you can buy a discovery 3 from makro for £30 +vat so yano there not 2 expensive i have 1 and it will go up anything, and were did u buy the winch from?
it isn't just the voltage that effects the sise of the battery. a 7.2 volt rc battery will last a lot longer than if you were to put a regular 9 volt battery in it. voltage is pretty much how fast a battery can get its power out to where it is needed. the size will effect how long it can give its power out for.
looks like you need softer foams or you could just take them out. i'm not running foams on mine because it gives better traction but i need some beadlock wheels because the slip off a lot.

i have a beter rc landrover but mine is full traction control so it dosnt have the problem and its about 5kg so it has beter traction
