He does not sound like a tough grizzled old soldier but some kind of dandified nancy boy, who is afraid of wars and he is indubitably no sea-dog but the sort of pasty landlubber I have always despised. I'll warrant, the most exciting thing that has happened to this limpid prawn in a whole year, was the day when he forgot to put sugar in his porridge!
wasnt at this one, but saw them in 1994 at t in the park, was totally monged off me tits and cant remember nowt!!! but saw them the year before in newcastle at a smaller venue, it was the most intense, liberating, and violent assault on the eardrums ever, but i loved it!!!!
This still sends shivers down ma spine...was in the middle of it near the front and by the time the 1st song had finished i was 20 ft back..i chipped a tooth lost ma specs but i shall take it to the grave..RAGM legends...Amen!
Haha I did too when I saw Morello in Vancouver, I ended up seeing RATM in SF, both shows were the best show's I've ever been too. The injuries were worth it.
you cannot judge that by this video cos thats only half of the story, the real gig is being there and feeling the electricity and the atmosphere that i don't think i'll ever experience again.
see the problem with them playin t in the park an leeds is that the crowd is full of indie kids who are like ive seen rage an dont even get in a pit. its stupid, they only know the words to killin in the name, all 6 lines of them
haha i duno about that likes, i didnt lift anyone over, i couldnt do it, too weak aye so i left it to aw the guys to do lol i just stood and handed out water lol.
jesus t in the park had it bad! rage during the day? and the size of a gap between the crowd and the stage! it was well dark when they started at oxegen and we were dead close aswell!
how early shold u leave before to get a decent spot. seeing them in chicago and not really sure how early i should go before to the AT&T stage. thanks
I queued to get into the inner circle bit when the band before them were on and got a great spot near the front, but obviously you could go earlier if you like the band on before them, at TITP it was the fratellis, and well come on, i didn't really want to put myself through watching them, and turns out i ddin't need to :D
The BBC tend not to film the first couple, or few, bands from each tent or stage. Some tents don't have coverage at all so all the great emerging talent that play the smaller tents never get broadcast. The Beeb are only interested in the big names.
@miller150474 That could be the reason, but I have a feeling that by allowing the BBC to film it, it would go against everything they stand for. The are called Rage Against the MACHINE for a start; the BBC being part of the machine.
I'm a camera operator but Rage weren't allowing anyone to film them so we got to watch instead...although we got moved from that spot pretty sharpish by their fascistic bouncers.
Coolest intro ever, I nearly died that day I swear to god. Was worth it though :D

Nice move man. I barely remember much from that weekend apart from Rage and Seasick Steve.
Nice second name btw I am a Miller too :)
P.s. You didnt happen to get any of Seasick Steve did you? The fuckers didnt even have cameras in the tent?!
8titties 3 years ago
The BBC tend not to film the first couple, or few, bands from each tent or stage. Some tents don't have coverage at all so all the great emerging talent that play the smaller tents never get broadcast. The Beeb are only interested in the big names.
miller150474 3 years ago
They were brilliant live, but I was wondering why they didn't want to be filmed?
CaptainDouglasFalcon 3 years ago
No Idea. They may just be making a statement - one that reads 'we don't give a shit about our fans that can't be bothered to come see us live'.
miller150474 3 years ago
I think its cause, well it just promotes advertising they don't want or believe in.
And they were doing festival gigs to give out their message as they think the world needs them.
It was the best gig I've ever been at, people missed them to see the Kaiser Chiefs! Guh honestly.
lol:P
