It is a decent song with straight lyrics as far as I can make out. Josie Lawrence and her dancers don't seem to be dancing in a particularly comic way apart from when she grabs the gentleman's testicles towards the end of the video. Why are the audience laughing all the way through it? Did these people used to watch Top of the Pops and piss themselves?

It's funny because the lyrics aren't about true love. She's clearly a stalker.
If the dancing was OTT, it would ruin the joke.
