Q-Tip's newest album is fucking good. And where is New Jack Swing now? Just one of those forgotten genres that we laugh about like nu-metal.

That ain't fair--New Jack Swing at the time was one of the more exhilarating new musical styles around---it made rap and R&B even more fun to listen and injected some much-needed freshness into the pop musical landscape. I think it lasted from about 1988--1995--just a guess. Heck,even the tune that gave this style its name, "New Jack Swing" was fun as hell to hear. You had to be there in that era to appreciate it, I guess--it was plain fun!
