im thinking of trying this out and i have no problem with the monthly fee.
but how does the additional content payment work? i dont like the idea of having to pay to get more content added, but how much racing will be available if i only subscribe?
iRacing wipes the floor with all other so called simulations. I always though LFS and iRacing were realistic...but honestly, they're a joke compared to iRacing. The only bad thing i can say about iRacing is its price. Its too freaking expensive.
If you like driving sims, there is nothing else like this. Once you've played iRacing, you'll never bother with Forza, Gran Turismo or anything else again - the online racing makes this totally unique.
so they can have have money to go out and scan the tracks (they just announced they are doing spa) scan the cars, model the cars and tracks work on the physics etc.... more goes in to this than your typical NFS game (although those are fun sometimes ;) )
@TheRooster94 Theres people working on this game constantlly that need there wages payed, they cant just release this game possibly do a few updates and forget about it .... Have been in 30+ lap fia gtr races, overtaken someone near end of race, they didnt like it so ram me off the road and quit. Ide rather pay a little more for that to not happen than save a few bucks but not enjoy the game.
I recently got NR2003, and I was very unimpressed. The reviews of it were way overblown. iRacing looks like the real thing. In fact, I may sell my NR2003 and subscribe to iRacing.
It doesn't matter what the post say, unless you try it you'll not understand how really great this sim is, thats all there is to it. Posts and videos have never,in any game, gave the experience the game itself holds. JMI
I highly recommend iRacing to any sim racer who wants serious competition. The service is outstanding although slightly costly. But hell, you get what you pay for. The life you feel from the surface of the track is incredibly realistic. If there is a bump somewhere on the track in real life, you bet it's there in iRacing too. As previously stated, get your way through the rookie ranks and enjoy the best sim racing service I have found to date.
rWhat? Yeah, rFactor has been laying dormant on my HD for over 12 months since i started running iRacing. It's just that good. Some may scoff at the price, but the quality is well worth it. This is a must try for any serious sim racer!
I hate how I cant link anybody to this video from a forum without it opening up in a terrible picture quality. Why cant I link to this video in 720p quality, it looks god awful in 360p. Not everyone notice and clicks on HQ automatically.
I hate how I cant link nobody to this video in HD picture quality. When I post the link in a forum the video opens up in terrible quality, and if someone doesnt click on 720p himself he sees iRacing in awful graphics
iracing has a new promo going on, 32 bucks for 3 months and you get cots and daytona for free, plus now you cant paint cars for iracing. hit me up for the promo code
Why cant I watch this video in HD. I thought about linking this video to someone to inform him about iRacing, but the video looks fuzzy and low resolution makes iRacing looks bad
It's near impossible to go back to rfactor or GTR2 after racing iRacing. If you consider yourself a sim racer, iRacing is the place to be. Respectful racers, no wreckers and unbelievable competition. Worth every penny and everything you learn can be brought to a real race track. Put down the video games and come iRacing!!
I heard all that about Nascar 2003 and I was unimpressed with that. I might give ir a go at some point but it doesn't seem very easy to get into and it does seem like a WoW-style money making exercise.
We'd argue that we charge what it costs us to build. We'd also argue that if it were a money making exercise, why make it a simulation? Arcade games sell far more easily.
@iRacingTV I would think that if you took $2 off the price per month you would definetly increase the number of users. Furthermore, advertising to "actual racers" is nice but people want to have fun.
The wreckers are standard in the rookie ranks, which is why getting above rookie ranks is the way to avoid this. The higher your rank, the less wreckers you will encounter, but you will find yourself greatly humbled the higher up you go.
i feel the same! iracing is by far the most advanced sim out there. u feel it in every damn second of any race. in my opinion its the next step from simulation to reality, like the old 2,5D games. it brings reality into a racing game, which has never been there before! If u are a racer give it a try!
IRacing is hands down the best thing out there. If you cant afford to go real world racing then you NEED to give IRacing a try. I dont think iv ever had so much fun
iRacing is an excellent simulator. I used to think I was pretty good at driving simulations till I started using this product. Wow...all of my deficiencies immediately rose to the surface.
Besides the driving physics, the graphics are also very well done. Real-time shadows in the cockpit look especially nice.
The only real downside to iRacing is the lack of time transitions and weather, both of which would make great additions to the sim.
I am very satisfied with iRacing as well. Weather and time transitions (night racing sounds fun!) as well as multi-class racing are all features I bet they will add in time. That's the greatest part of it being an online based sim-they can change anything they want when they want.
Can't wait for my wheel arrival by next month, then ill get this.. anyone knows how many people work behind iRacing? would be cool they make a video documentary behind the scenes.
It's funny how i first thought iRacing was some shitty app for 'i' devices!!!

I'm debating whether this is worth it.
I was a huge Nascar Racing 2003 Season fan, and I really want to get into this game.. no trial is really killing me.

yes. but it is worth its money. a great game.
TerrorRobin 2 years ago
@ENGLANDTHEGREATEST You have to pay a subscription for the base content, and then pay extra for more cars/tracks.

That's true, but from where I sit, rFactor/GPL represent dramatically better value for money - even if they aren't as good.
