kid, grow up. president obama brought this country back from the brink of financial destruction thanks to 8 years of cheny/w. bush and conservative gop senate/house.
Like by using the exact policies that Bush implemented (Bailouts and stimulus anyone?!)? By serving corporate interests first just like Bush? Seriously, get a clue, maybe read a book about economics instead of watching MSNBC next time you think about commenting on the (in)action of one man in relation to an economy of well over 300 million people (which is no further from any "brink" than it was 2 years ago). BTW who was in charge of both houses of Congress 2006-present?? Bipartisan effort man.
@LifeIsPietzsche wow, so you suggest an economics class yet have no comments on how the GOP received a 'FAIL' for their actions on said economics? c'mon dude. you've GOT to be brighter than those other conservative ditto heads. look at the country with your own eyes and quit letting faux news brainwash you with bullshit.
Nice conclusion jump there. I am no conservative, Fox News = MSNBC and they both suck. This video was about Democrats not Republicans, but I do think its important to point out that Obama has done nothing to change economic policies, nor has the Democratic party who has controlled Congress since 2006. BOTH Parties FAIL; that is and has always been the point. I agree that Bush had a negative impact on the economy, and it can't be fixed by Obama copying him in every meaningful policy.
@LifeIsPietzsche then look at it from another angle; had the president NOT implemented the second stim package, just where do you think the usa would be right now? considering stock market was down 1,000 pts, 100,000 jobs lost each month. hundreds of foreclosures each week. where would we be had he NOT acted?
The stimulus did nothing productive, a market correction would have been much better overall. The problem lies with how the State has tried to structure the economy, crashes happen when you artificially manipulate the market, the "stimulus' is just a way that the State can keep its hand in everyones' pockets. The market demands a crash due to the damage done by central economic planning, stimulus just prolongs the crash and spreads it over the next decade or longer.
@LifeIsPietzsche your reply can be summed up in your last sentence "stimulus just prolongs the crash and spreads it over the next decade or longer." this is key; to soften the blow, it's better to 'spread it over' the next decade and deal with the problems in a prolonged manner, which is needed to slowly counter the destructive nature of conservative policies.
First off, no there is no "softening" there is just a long term problem that allows the government to keep control, there is no preferable outcome for the general population, just the State. That needs to be made abundantly clear, stimulus only helps the State. Second, there are no conservative / liberal policies in terms of economics, both parties use the same policies in any meaningful sense, there is no change. Last, the outcome would be a thousand times better if the bad businesses failed.
For future reference: intellectual peasants, such as yourself, need not comment on my videos. Grown-ups are trying to converse here (I mean this in the intellectual sense of maturity).
Please die quickly so as not to waste any more resources or (further) pollute the gene pool. Also, it is poor word choice to use the same adjective twice in one sentence; please note this in case you fail to die quickly enough to prevent you from "writing" again.
Hence the "too" in the title. Any McCain supporters had to be incredibly naive if not absolutely retarded. I never once in my video attempted to prop up McCain, and did not vote for him. The point is that Obama is EXACTLY THE SAME; that eloquence does not equal intelligence and integrity. If you can't see that Obama is just as corrupt and stupid as McCain / Palin, then you are also "stupid (or at least naive)." Again, hence the title!!
Everyday I hear someone say they regret voting for Obama. People don't pay enough attention to what is going on..Everybody says, "Bush is BAD! Evil republicans!" so, instead of putting forth the effort and time to understand, their logic says, "vote democrat!!" Not to mention all of black people that voted for Obama because he's black too. Democracy cant thrive if that is how people vote. I wish people who are clueless to the political world would leave the voting up to the people who get it.
Yes, I agree but it seems it is the nature of democracy that the uneducated majority perpetuate corruption through their ignorance and naiveté. The system is shaped around the gross ignorance of the large majority of he voting population. The questions we are left with are 'should we continue to advocate democracy?' 'is there another system that would be better?' and 'would we be better off with no federal system at all?'
It needs to change....no question about it whatsoever...but I wouldn't say go as far as throwing democracy out the window...just "redefine" it. I just don't think everybody should be entitled to a political opinion...well, everyone is entitled to one...it just should not count. They just need to administer some short quiz or something before every vote regarding politics today to better gauge if someone knows what they are voting for...or if it is someone voting because Oprah said to. lol.
Again I see your point but the problem remains that any type of test for voting would be (a) inadequate as the parties / politicians would be the ones generating and administering these tests, (b) not suited to the problem as the ignorance we are dealing with is mostly willful due to partisanship, and (c) nearly impossible to implement due the aspect of disenfranchisement similar to the literacy tests in the Jim Crow south after the civil war. We cannot improve the system without drastic change.
Not figuratively. I don't think we should literally give voters a written test. In fact, Im sure it's unconstitutional. But, if there was a test, it wouldn't be so much about opinion. There is no right/wrong. It would be more fact based to evaluate knowledge of politics. So, partisanship & administrators wouldn't really matter. I was really trying to get at that we have so many ignorant voters that have no idea what they are really voting for that it could be the difference come election time.
Again, I think it is primarily the partisanship that engenders ignorance on the part of voters, and again, the parties thrive off this ignorance and will at all costs seek to propagate it.
Don't get me wrong, the democratic republic has been the furthest advancement seen in politics, but it is not the end of the road; I am simply at a loss to figure out how a popular voting system, in any form, can be part of the NEXT progression in politics. Surely we are not going in the right direction now.
I agree. They are slave to what their friends/family believe instead of thinking for themselves. People are products of their environments and sometimes never question their beliefs or values. It's just time to think outside their boxes, homes, and comfort zones. Im sick of people voting for the candidate that appeals to what matters to them instead of looking at the bigger picture. (I.e, blacks who voted for obama because he's black...gays who vote based on their stance on gay marriage)
(...cont.) There's a bigger world out there and issues that effect everyone instead of a minority group....like healthcare reform and economic crisis....but instead of worrying about that, they want to make sure their president is black, allows gay marriage, and keeps abortions legal.
True enough, it seems that both parties rest on the same base. The issues that decide the elections are the 'shock-and-awe' issues (like abortion and gay marriage) that are incredibly unimportant in reality but make good news stories / soap opera plots. This is what leads me to believe that any improved system will have to trend away from popular voting. I'm just not sure what will take it's place...if anything.
You need a teleprompter yourself Obama lover. Obama is a socialist, McKain sucked too. Nice try at The Bush slam in there, you blew any crediblity you might have had. We all know that Bush sucked, but Obama is way worse and now you are the stupid one.
Naive is the most accurate word. Stupid is a sensitive word. Using the word stupid will most likely distance yourself from your audience and it contradicts your argument. However I enjoy your videos and thought provoking ideas, keep up the fire. Some people will get it, for the rest of us it's the tip of an iceberg. If you were gay you'd really appreciate the line I just threw at you. ok good night.
Okay... i NEVER found someone that agrees with me ENTIRELY on these two until now!! I love you video poster!!. I voted for a 3rd party actually. I think McCain is an idoiot and Obama is evil and a liar. ..
Another thing is that about Obama being a communist, this is pretty clearly false. Though he does agree with socialist things like health care etc. we already have socialist schools, fire department, and police. Not to mention most people would be helped by is policies.
Separation of church and state aren't just only evolution versus creationism.
true i unforunately didn't vote for anything. I had moved to another state and didn't want to register there because i was planning on back back to my home state soon. So i figured eh screw it. i figure if in four years it doesn't get any better i'm all for anarchy. a "nice" radical change in government lol
I never said 'suburban', and I certainly never said 'just to the suburban', I'm pretty sure I said 'urban'. But you should understand that the majority base of any party organization is predicated on the dominance of genuinely unintelligent people in the population. Republicans and democrats have an excess of this type of voter. It is sadly the pretentious idealists who want to seem smart who sway the election between the two corrupt parties.
Perhaps in some circles, but I find more often then not that people who are attacking Obama are doing so based on misinformation.
And those who attack others based on the lies and propaganda of news outlets, and who don't bother to research into said information, deserve to be scrutinized in turn.
By all means, if one has a legitimate gripe with Obama, air it out. I thought this guy's video did a nice job of stating his opinion; it's light years ahead of "Obama is a Muslim."
hmmmmmm lets see what 4 more years of the same would be oh well who cares the power of the world is shifting east beacuse the people in america are to stupid. stupid people get a stupid leader so i guess mccain will win good thing i live in europe :)
Well Obama will win, but that means people are just as stupid, and we will get four more years of the same with Obama, he's Bush with a different tie, thats it, thats the only real difference in the two major parties, they talk and talk and then do same things as each other. You are right that we will get a stupid leader: Obama or McCain? Its lose-lose!!!
i was a bit mad because i watched a mcain rally before this and the people at the rally were so stupid it made me sick but im wrong for saying america is stupid it just seems obvious to vote for obama.
It is a lot more obvious to not vote for either McCain or Obama because they are both the same: Liars, crooks, and frauds. You can't believe a word that either of them says.
Newsflash: Change happens all the effing time. This change affects you in a VERY REAL WAY.
For example: Do you have any friends/family who are risking their lives in the middle east? Know anybody who's losing their home? Notice the price spike at the gas station? The increasing cost of food?
You may not give a shit about what happens to yourself, friends, and family, but other people DO. Dude, GROW UP.
Who are you talking to? I agree that things change but any progress that is made is in spite of who the president is, politicians don't change, Obama is absolutely no exception.
Oh, I am in the military and have recently been to Iraq, I am living alone in my own home on a factory worker's salary, trying to go to school in my spare time to finish my degree. You could say that I notice the cost of gas and food, I think I'm pretty grown up, life is very real for me right now.
The president is a big factor on how America spends assets. Our assets are used to change specific issues in the world. Whenever we use our assets in one place, we are denying their use in another place. Because of this, different politicians can mean VERY different things for America.
So I don't know HOW you think the current two are alike at all, or how either politician would mean the same thing as BUSH for America. They have very different ideas on how to use America's now dwindling assets.
Dude, we have NO ASSETS we are in debt for now over $10 trillion. The problem is that both candidates want to keep spending, they want to borrow more and print more money. More inflation, more power in the hands of corrupt individuals, and bigger government; thats both candidates, the specifics are not important. There is a huge difference in what Obama/McCain say they will spend money on and what they actually will spend money on, they are all talk, and will do the same things as president.
America's yearly GNP only a little under the amount we now owe. That's why countries are still giving us loans, and as long as we have loans, we have assets (even if stunted). The reason both candidates are spending is because it's the ONLY WAY to get out of a depression- study economics.
How it works: company produces product, workers paid, people buy, company makes more $, workers paid more/jobs made, people have more money to spend on stuff, etc. The opposite occurs when spending is stunted.
I'm talking about government spending you stupid fuck!!!! All the loans are being used to pay for worthless government programs and military bases all around the world. Any increase in government spending means printing more, borrowing more, or taxing more, none of which will help our economy. I know that consumer spending is the way to fix the economy, its called the free market, when government tries to fuck around with the market they make things worse.
If you think government spending on military is hurting us, then wasn't the choice for president obvious? McCain intended to continue the war in Iraq that costs us 10 billion/month. Obama wants to get us out, saving 120 bil. per year. Additionally, Obama has a strategy to add an extra 300 bil. to the government per year in the form of taxes on people making over 250 thou a year. That's 420 bil. worth of assets to barter with and pay off debt.
(continued from my last post) McCain's only plan of income was to cut 30 billion in pork-barrel spending, and some of those so-called erroneous programs are pretty damn important (like after school programs for kids).
So if you think the two candidates were going to be spending equally on the same things, you're completely and abso-frickin-lutely wrong. Read up on candidate's positions before you say they're selling the same thing, or else you sound uneducated.
I didn't vote for McCain or Obama because they are pretty much the same. Obama is not going to cut military spending... at all. He is going to increase spending in Afghanistan and we will probably end up in Pakistan or Iran, Obama is not antiwar or anti-intervention, if you heard his speech last night, it also sounds like we may see many more "humanitarian" intervention mission like Somalia or Bosnia/Kosovo. Obama will likely spend more than Bush in Defense spending.
humans are stupid in general. you're stupid. I'm stupid. people posting on this thread are stupid. what does it matter? we're all just going to point the fucking finger anyway. i believe in hell. i don't believe in hell. i believe in pro choice. i don't believe in pro choice. wtf. when we learn to work together we'll then show some sign of intelligence.
I agree. it's a shame. my favotire quote is "the one who knows, knows that he knows nothing at all." I like to live by the mentality. even though I might say, it doesn't mean I know. if you understand what i mean.
Seriously...they've tried it in my state on numerous different occasions. The Dover PA trial should be enough to convince you that these people really do mean business. It's not just a political appeal. They really are dumb enough to believe it.
This isn't like a federal gay marriage ban or a reversal of Roe v Wade...they really believe in this one.
Why not vote Libertarian? They seem in line with your ideology...
Nice non-partisanship, though. We don't have enough of it.
In fact....that decision is the primary reason that conservatives, legislators, and school board officials have calmed down on the topic...they know that introducing ID or the "debate" will cause costly litigation that the defendants will end up footing the bill for.
Bush said his official position was that we should teach both. Palin says the same thing. It appears to me that only the scientific community, educators, and the Courts (the only wing of the govn involved) stand in the way.
Note: the ONLY reason that we don't have creationism or ID being at least referenced in public schools is because of the court system.
State legislatures, the federal legislature, and MANY rural school boards across the country have already tried to introduce some form of sympathetic ID or "teach the debate" into their curriculum. IT'S ALREADY HAPPENING.
If it weren't for the Dover PA trial or if it had happened differently, the entire education system would have been impacted.
I enjoy watching your videos. I like your objective approach. I also like that your videos are just your flow of thoughts, instead of pre-planned biased entertainment.
I assume that you won't be voting? Because, of course, voting for somebody besides McCain or Obama would be throwing away your vote as well.
Thanks for the comment, I already voted for my state and local officials and my congressmen/senators. For President I simply voted a write-in because I was there and at least I cast a vote for 'none of the above'.
well it takes a stupid person to know one !

I know that consumer spending is the way to fix the economy, its called the free market, when government tries to fuck around with the market they make things worse.

wow, someone's touchy ;)

I'm stupid. people posting on this thread are stupid. what does it matter? we're all just going to point the fucking finger anyway. i believe in hell. i don't believe in hell. i believe in pro choice. i don't believe in pro choice. wtf. when we learn to work together we'll then show some sign of intelligence.

it would be nice but I don't think we will ever stop trying to impose our beliefs on others, everyone wants to be right.

I agree. it's a shame. my favotire quote is "the one who knows, knows that he knows nothing at all." I like to live by the mentality. even though I might say, it doesn't mean I know. if you understand what i mean.

Interesting, I actually didn't know that was an option.
