That's interesting how the flight seems to be a lot smoother (or I'm just too used to the emulator) than the final result, and the lasers more awesome. And how there doesn't appear to be an all-range mode, at least not here.

they really need to make a starfox that lives up to the first 2. starfox assault had high quality music, and some of the tunes were memorable.... but they killed off peppy which I hate. whats so bad about having five starfox members? *sigh* never kill off a member of a flagship series. And the main enemy was a cliche boring parasite.

@GraffitiOverlord Pretty sure that in Starfox Assault Peppy kamikazeed great fox to kill some enemy, and while you fight the parasite queen you see her using dead bodies to try and discourage fox, peppy's one of them, as well as fox's father... which was totally cliche and lame. They really need to bring the starfox series back on track with some fresh direction.

@easygoingb Double checked this time. Peppy appears dead but before the final boss he reappears, alive. Otherwise he couldn't have become the General of the Cornerian army in Star Fox Command. Sorry, but I was certain they wouldn't kill him off. Either way I don't think there will be another Star Fox game for awhile sadly.

I'd say that this one of my fave games on the n64. The game looked and played really well. Its play control made it easy to pick up and play. with multiple routes it gave the game a lot of replay value. The voices were great. Heck I even liked slippys voice.

To LightGregami: They did keep that in the final version of the game, the arwing still slightly transforms when you get the laser upgrade in the final version of the game, I notice it all the time.

A beta is a work in progress. It's the game before it's finished, so things are changed or deleted. Beta videos are really popular because people like to see how a game has evolved or see what you can no longer do. There are only rare cases where you can obtain a beta. They are usually stored where the game was made, and in no way are suppose to be playable. Also, sometimes "beta levels", areas designed to test the game can be found with cheat devices.
