  • Can I ask what you use to paint on and whatever it is is it reusable? I love the way it looks

  • @KursedInk It is just a aluminum panel.

  • @edhubbs Ahh okay! Thank you very much :D!

  • Very cool. I will definitely try this.

  • bad ass homie

  • How do I do such ultra fine lines? I love the way they turn out but I have problems with them... I am using a Pashee Talon, with #2 needle, gravity feed, and for transparent coloring I have a second pashee that is siphon feed ... dont know the gauge of the needle.

  • @newdad85 I will have a look.

  • Nice work Ed..Think this lightning video better because you added clouds which gives the artwork further depth and effect..

  • hey edhubbs hate to ask about tcp u said u will not used them or product .is something wrong wit there product i just order some thing

  • @dcade30 There is nothing wrong with there products,I just choose not to use them any more for personal reasons.

  • @dcade30 ive had problems with there master series brushs and there CS so i finally picked up a iwata and love it!

  • if i have a plain white and iam wanting it to turn out like the lighting.. do i need a candy color over the white to get that effect ? or can i use something else other than candy to get that effect ??

  • @hockeyfreak043 You can use a over reduced base coat

  • when putting one color over another..do i need to have a candy or a transperate ?????

  • @hockeyfreak043 What are you applying one color over the other ? Are you wanting the underlayment color to show through the top color?

  • soy argentino y simplemente usted es mi inspiracion y un maestro gracias por los aportes

  • whicked job, hi Ed im a custom bicycle painter and have always paid an autobody shop to clearcoat for me. I want to start doing it myself, any tips on a reasonably priced spray gun for small jobs like bike frames? price range would be around $200 and under.Ill be using HOK clears over HOK airbrush and pinstripe paints. Thanks!

  • When you do the final fine line, do you have the crown on your brush? I've heard that taking it off can give you a finer line. Is there any truth to that?

  • @bmxfreak1101 Yes it does give you a way finer line.

  • Just an FYI, This video isn't quite titled right. I did find it as I knew your name/account, but the misspelled 'Lightning' might make it harder for people to find. Thanks for all the great videos. I bought the big set of DVD's from the site. As a new business owner (celebrating 2 years) I am trying to step up my game and learn more stuff and farm out less of it. Turns out a good portion of this stuff is knowing the 'trick' more than specific art talent (aka scotch brite clouds). Thanks again!

  • @78Revolutions Thank you I will make the change. Good luck,I am sure you will find out as you go I have a little more talent than tricks. But hey what ever works to get the job done right.LOL

  • @edhubbs Crap. I worded that poorly. Naturally you have mad talent! I meant that so much amazing artwork, such as the clouds, I always thought was freehand...and it turns out with a few tricks of the trade, These things can be done rather easily. Not unlike 15 years ago when I first learned of saran wrap in paint...lways thought it was an artistic hand, not crinkled plastic! But all these tricks mean nothing without an artistic hand, which you clearly have. Thanks again!

  • @78Revolutions LOL No worries man.

  • Merry Christmas!Blessings from China. I admire you and love u!

  • @AirbrushBoyX Thank you.

  • LOL...I have watched this vid a few times now but I just noticed something Ed. I remember you giving me a hard time about listening for the "whistle".... at 9:35 - 9:40 I heard it...lol. I love the end result thou.

    Big Dog!

  • @Mr500xl LOL

  • @Mr500xl I use aluminum panels to paint on and the cotton is stuffing out of a pillow I bought at Good Will.

  • i meant to say clouds in my last comment.. another question.. what is it that you are painting on... what do you recomend for me as a teenager who doesnt have a job yet?

  • @TheDiminishing Get a job.LOL

I was using cotton to do the clouds. I would recommend just practicing as much as you can and keep setting goals for your self.

  • @edhubbs lol, as i set "yet" i'm, looking for a job these school holidays :) what sort of cotton, specificly? i love that cloud effect.. and what would be a good surface to paint on, i was thinking a fair size piece of wood and just paint it black after each job?

  • what is that stuff your using to do the coulds? .. im just starting up in the next few weeks and i watch alot of your videos :)

  • top stuff ed!

    you are the king

  • @Cre8iveSignWorks Thanks.

  • just out of curiosity why not use a gravity feed gun?

  • @mower26 I actually use both.

  • LOL 5 minute free hand skull, thats why you're the MAN man!

  • @oOsebcreedOo LOL Thanks.

  • Why no more tcp global?

  • @windsorman1000 Personal reasons, they have a good product just choose not to use them any more.

  • hey ed what is the stuff called your ussing to spray like your cleatrcoating it and could you give me a homemade recipe for it?

also love the way you use scotchbrite for the cloud effect, what all other types of stuff can a airbrush artist use?

im new to airbrushing is why im asking and i think your work is amazing!!!!

  • @dimebagcfh You mean the clear coat ?

  • @edhubbs yeah at the end of this video wax grease remover?

whats the recipe for that also what all other stuff can be used to make clouds other than scothbrite?

    thanks in advance

  • @dimebagcfh Free hand the clouds,or even use cotton. Wax and grease remover is its own product.

  • Hello I am wanting to get into airbrushing and I was wondering if you have to buy a special compressor for it. Or can you use a regular one?thanks

  • @Kmurray9244 Just happen to be the one I was using I have several air brushes.

  • Good Job Ed, It looks fantastic. I like how my eyes widen and I get excited watching your tutorials, I learn things from them continually-thats why I have to watch them over and over again. Thanks Ed, You are The Man!!

  • @MegaTitaniumMan Thanks for watching.

  • TCP Global products are garbage, They are by far the most un-professional company I have every done business with. Good business move on your part, glad to see your using good paint products and Great vid as always Thank you Ed.

  • Lightning was my first ever airbrush paint job. It's easier than some people might think, and it's fun to do too. Great tutorial!

  • @UrbanSportGuy Ya it is pretty simple.

  • great video thanks for sharing Ed!!!

  • I know you dont use kustom shop anymore. Is it a personal reason or a product quality reason. I have been using there products and am worried that I might be getting some work back from customers.

    Thanks

  • @10FordF150 Kustom Shop sells a good product,I just personally choose not to use them. There is nothing wrong what so ever with there products.
