  • Great tune for a flick about time travel (back to the 1960s). Nice "shadowy" reverb-like sound. This tune is king tone!

  • really underrated because that guy from rolling stone had a crush on all the english bands

  • Why is the image so bad? Is the passage of time destroying the film?

  • who woulda thought the Prunes would hold up better than the Smo Bros humor? (Love the show, Dick, but the Prunes jokes...not funny)

  • Is this U2, "Desire?"

(Yeah, that's funny, he could sing about lighting his cigarette but couldn't say "you shake up all my hormones.")

  • The Smother's Brothers were about as funny as a case of the Cambodian clap!

  • @Dayga the brothers were extremely funny.....your not a rightwinger still angry they were anti-war are you?

  • @TheBabyboomkidof53 Although I did serve in the military during that period, I'm not angry with the Smothers brothers. I just feel their behavior was disrespectful towards not only servicemen (many of whom had been drafted), but towards authority and our elected leaders. Personally, I found their antics reprehensible and anything but humorous.

  • great stuff

  • Wow!

  • I have a 2-CD set of the Electric Prunes, and in my version of the song, it goes: "You shake up all my hormones, you put me through a change"...

  • Electric Prunes, one of the most under-rated psychedelic Groups of the 60's IMHO. All of their songs were awesome!

  • @seaness267 I agree 100%. They were awesome and so innovative. People today do not understand what they brought to the music scene then.....their first 2 lp's are legendary, although appreciated by so few today.. To come up with these songs in'67, WOW!

  • The Smother Brothers were about as funny as a case of the clap.

  • @Dayga

The Smothers Brothers were the closest thing we had on television back then that was anti-establishment. The Smothers Brothers were constantly shaking up the CBS censors with their anti war stance and their anti establishment humor. They were, if you were there at the time, absolutly hilarious. I think you are thinking of the wayans brothers.now there's a bunch of unfunny idiots if ever i did see them! So either go find some real Smothers Brothers stuff circa 1967, or shut up!

  • @duanerichardson1 I was there in 67', and the fact remains the Smothers Brothers were pieces of shit.

  • @Dayga

So I guess that makes you diarrhea.

  • @Dayga

Hmmm, Glenn...for someone around in 1967...you listen to pretty modern music

  • @duanerichardson1 Actually, other than Classic Rock format, I hardly listen to radio these days. And although watching Mick and Dylan last night on the Grammy's was a bit painful, I have to admit getting a chuckle out of Gaga's grand entrance. That shit was funny!.

  • @Dayga

Gaga? Is that a band or a person? I haven't watched Television since 1984 and Stopped buying Music about the same time. And only listen to Rush Limbaugh et al on Radio.

  • you sound like a real fun guy lol. sheesh.

  • @KOSMICKEN09

And you sound like someone who has never heard of the word Sarcasm.

  • Ya gotta love the prunes

  • jon heder on lead vocals

  • fucking love that awkward intro.

  • THEY NEED A HAIRCUT

  • the smothers bros?

  • @anguhleak Yeah the Smothers Brothers...sheesh kids these days. You couldn't put the Smothers brothers or Laugh In on television at any hour these days as those flaming liberals were too politically incorrect for children like you.

  • I think it's donald at age 21 lol

  • Who the hell were the two chimps on the start of this great song?

  • I have this song on my ipod , I love it!

  • Secretly influential

  • Sounds similar to Butthole Surfers, Gary Floyd.

  • Tommy Sothers called it man - they actually did shrivel up once Axelrod came in and helped them get fucked over for good.

  • WOW. Thanks for the post.

  • Thanks for sharing this great vid!

  • Yes LOve the Electric Prunes -- and

    dear tommy smother you made us laugh!! * * * * *

    here i go

  • If I was on a deserted Island, this would be one song I would have to have with me !!!! Always in my TOP 10 !!!!!!!

  • Psychodelic song from the day with an actual CLEAN CUT group. Great band and great song!

  • Damn classic song. Damn good group. Smothers was a retard. Typical pretentious Mod 60's psuedo counter culture rock and roll fad super cool crap that everyone took sooooo seriously then and now think of Austin Powers.

You could not get enough of it at the time.

  • You're a moron.

  • As Linc Hayes from Mod Squad might have said "I can dig it!" but for someone who favorited "Hallucination Generation" your not very tolerant of my electric prune juice above so "poops" to you!

    I am so hep!

Note: I changed the John McCain satire theme on my web page for St. Patrick's Day so you could not get the joke. Maybe I should change it back.

  • Grandma always said to eat your Prunes.

  • Funny. That is not Jim Morrison. He was a little busy at the time.

There's not even much of a resemblance. Been doin' a little herb there?

    :D

  • smothers brothers show?

  • I brought this when it came out in the 60s, great song thank you for posting it.

  • love this song ------- cool song go prunes go prunes go pits go pits

  • These host deffenitly went for

    the great banana hoax,

and actually smoked banana peels ))

  • great band, great song, clapham south escalators (pre M3T3ORS) did a worthy cover in the 80s

  • That's my cousin Mark on the bass!

  • Are you shitting me, dude?

  • No, not at all. He is.

  • he's got those sick james brown moves, too. nice.

  • Check out their mass in D. Stunning.

  • Get theri live Cd that was done in Sweden. If youdon't think that is one of the best live CD's ever made...I will buy it back from you.

  • from my hometown san fernando valley

  • I,forever and a day,will lament that I didn't grow up in this era.

  • you would've loved it. i was born in 1950. the 60s was a great time to be a teen.

  • yeaah!...Im 19 now but I just can´t stop listening to these bands, all of garage and primitive; what a groovie gigs they used to did, great era.

  • oh my, same for me

  • music from my youthful days. loved it then and love it now. if you like this check out the seeds, amboy dukes and strawberry alarm clock - in fact anything you can find from the nuggets compilation.

  • yeaaah!!....I´d like to add the monks and gruesomes...but the whole nuggets and vast majority of the pebbles.

  • I like the Bo Diddley beat...how blues influenced were the Electric Prunes, considering some of their live stuff

  • i love the bassist with the worringly small head. try me on for size was their best

  • Thanx to Dad I know this tune, cool stuff!

  • I like it....

  • Ain´t it hard... Stoned Greetings from far East(Berlin), Lilia

  • I always loved the dive-bomber bass at the end of this song. I think the lyrics were "cleaned up" to make it more TV friendly. Thanks for the post.

  • I think you're right... He sings "shake up all my senses" and on the record he sings "shake up all my hormones", right?

  • Damn! from the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. What a great show. Too bad they won't show this on tv any more:(

  • After Too Much to Dream, this song was a downer....Preston's drumming was the only salvation.

  • Wow! Thanks for the compliment!

Preston Ritter (Drummer - Electric Prunes)

  • Where do I get your cds these days? You guys were fantastic! I always loved the dadaesque name, even as a 12 year old
