Being an engineer this pisses me off. What moron engineer at Ford came up with this shit design? An inverted pressed hollow I beam that collects water at the axle like a cup and holds it in the interior walls of the structure. Fire that asshole. FORD should be ashamed of themselves. Idiots..
someone realy close to me owned a 2001 Ford windstar. on october 15,2010 the rear axle cracked and he lost control of the van. he crashed into a building and died. his passanger was seriously injured. Ford needs to take responsibility for this and take all ford windstars off the road NOW

i was in my moms windstar we were driving down the high way the car started to rumble and the tires caved in my mom drifted the car on the high way we had to ditch the car i mean a car hit it
Sept. 4, 2010 my rear axle snapped in 2 on I-80 going 65mph with my 2 children, brother and his son on the way home from my aunts funeral. I had no warning and I had to cut across 3 lanes of traffic and miraculasly nobody hit us. I though we were going to be killed. There is already a class action law suit on the Ford Windstar Rear Axle snapping and Ford is waiting till Sept 27, 2010 to send out recall letters. Somebody will get killed. Please don't drive your Windstar without getting it check
