I'm a huge Poison (have been since the "Cat Dragged In") and a guitar player as well. I love the band but C.C. is a train wreck, especially live. All of his cool sounds are basically effects and are very easy to duplicate. For flashy fingering, he basically has one riff that makes its way into every solo. Good guitar players, and good musicians, know when to play fast and loud -- and when NOT to play fast and loud. I sort of wish C.C. had learned that.

Yeah, C.C. does tend to overplay live, but hey, so do I when my energy is high, and I've never seen his energy low! I've seen him do the original solo in this song, but I actually liked this little improv...a bit sloppy, but his heart was in it, which is what counts. He may not be a virtuoso, but he's totally comfortable with who he is as a player. He's found his musical identity, and it's perfect for Poison.
