I never got why the Blue Monkey could turn people back into what they were descended from, as well as monkeys in the original cut. Well, I guess it's a case of wherever or not you believe in Darwin's theory of evolution. They used the idea for the video game adaptation as well. Personally, I prefer the original ending, where Mr Smith is She-Devil and Marvin the Martian (my fave Looney Tune) is involved in the climax.
