I just got my very first car and its a 1992 vw gti mk2 but it didn't have turbo its a 1.8l engine 8v. Someone please response to me because I want to put turbo and I need to know if its possible and what's all needed and a price range
@skate4breastcancer u need to get a mk2 16v head, and mk2 16v pistons. get an exhaust manifold which fits a turbo, get a ko3 or ko3s turbo and wack it on... theres a lil more to it than that but you can start from there.
Not sure if intercooler exposed because owner can't afford a new bumper or because owner is a ricer. Either way, fail. Exposed intercoolers are the new speed holes.
@meltdownup improves airflow and thus optimizes performance. it also lets driver and spectator listen and watch for problems. its good to run the setup as such after putting the car together to ensure everything is working properly. not long of course because those parts need protection.
I had one of these and no one ever beat me. Not honda, acura, nissan, toyota, mits, even V6 saturns, camaros and mustangs all failed to beat me in my non turbo 1990 1.8 16V GTI, not stock of course. Those were the good ole days.
Everyone shits on VW's... but... too bad for them they are idiots, cause VW's are some of the best handling, most reliable cars ever. (The old ones, because I dislike 98% of cars 1997+)

no prob. i build my mkv and am building my mk1 myself. i built the r first sc'd, then tore it apart and did part of the work, but yes a tuning shop did do it, a big tuning company that is. if u were at h20 u saw it.

@kyle7300 ive already ground out the intake ports, done the ferrea vt, finished welding up the tubular manifold, bought the hta gt3582r, integrated rods, weisco oversized pistons, i knive edged the crank myself, welded up the intake manifold, made the fuel rail, did the cage, wiring harness, retrofitted mk4r dashboard,suspension, fitted mkv 6speed put in quaife diff, twin disc clutch, this car will be a top speed car that will compete.

@bed447 I have a 2.0 8v, I'm doing a 16v head conversion, because there's no way in hell im gonna push 300 WHEEL hp with that restrictive as fuck 8v head and do it easily. You're kinda dumb hatin on a front mount intercooler too... for really no apparent reason - even though it's not my favorite, Air/water intercooler for me.
@azimut81 You can install a Turbo in any car. Once you got the basics of your Engine, and how it flows (HP, Torque, Efficiency, Etc) you purchase the right sized turbo for your car. Another Big Step is Fuel Managament. You have a couple of options for Fuel Management (Unitronic, C2). Then it's just bolting shit together, minor Fabrication to the fit the parts, and testing to ensure it drives. Make sure you find out your engines HP limitations.

tubular manifold, hta gt37, tial 44mm wg, hpa intake mani,2000cc inject, ie rods, je pistons, blueprinted block, bored to 3.3, knife edged crank, cat cams, stage 3 h20meth, ferrea vc, ported/polished head, d.ei nitrous, eurodyne bt remap. tranny: hpa haldex controller, custom straight cut gears, southbend stage5, quaife dif, race axles, so much more. u dont know what perf. means faggot

@bed447 I have a 2.0 8v, I'm doing a 16v head conversion, because there's no way in hell im gonna push 300 WHEEL hp with that restrictive as fuck 8v head and do it easily. You're kinda dumb hatin on a front mount intercooler too... for really no apparent reason - even though it's not my favorite, Air/water intercooler for me.

@azimut81 You can install a Turbo in any car. Once you got the basics of your Engine, and how it flows (HP, Torque, Efficiency, Etc) you purchase the right sized turbo for your car. Another Big Step is Fuel Managament. You have a couple of options for Fuel Management (Unitronic, C2). Then it's just bolting shit together, minor Fabrication to the fit the parts, and testing to ensure it drives. Make sure you find out your engines HP limitations.

um no line lock hooked up to car and yes you would beat this car after the life its had with me, but it still holds its ground has been known to beat xr6's and yes anything with forced air induction will be hard to beat.
