Actually what Col. Trautmann was saying in Rambo 3 was that he needed to come full circle and be a warrior again. He was hiding in Thailand and didn't want to fight and Trautmann said "You need to come full circle and fight and kill again." But it is a nice reinterpretation/retcon to say that he meant that he needed to come full circle and go home.

I really, REALLY hope they leave it at this and will NOT make a fifth movie. That would destroy this ending completely. Also, if they make another and it's pg13 that'd be even worse then a Expendable pg13, because we all remember rambo as this raw hard franchise from the 80's

The hero has come "Full Circle." Today they cut scenes away from the death, and this I dont favor. Theres probably only a few films that still exercise this style of "Ultra Violence," I wud say Rambo4 does this quite well. Yes the plot is weak, but Stallone certainly doesnt mess about with the violence, he just throws it straight at u which I like, because people take the piss out of him now saying he is old, and past it, but at least he gave them a proper "old-skool" action film.

this may be selfish, but I kinda hope and wish this really was the end of the Rambo series. it's just too great of an ending to sacrafice with a sequel. john finally comes home, finally finds some peace in life (hopefully). I really don't think it could have come to a better closure for the fans, or the character himself.
