  • Superb! They outdid themselves with "Papa Oom Mow Mow"

  • Never get tired of when Mike Love has to switch from tenor lead to bass harmony in the same song. I love the beach boys!

  • Shows you what good looks do. Immediate screaming the second Dennis hits the monitor. Well, that's the way of it I guess.

  • re: Little St. Nick: I always love hearing the Boys singing live, even if the music is prerecorded. They were *really* incredible in concert.

re: Papa-Oom-Mow-Mow: Brian showing his rock and roll side. Too rare. I first heard this on the "Beach Boys Concert" album, but couldn't figure out who sang it. I was real surprised to find out that it was Brian.

  • i love this old shit lol x

  • @bigdean0 its not shit

  • What did the beach boys argue and fight about?

  • Im 15 and new to the beach boys so in "little saint nick" who is the main vocal in that? The one withoutt a guitar? Because i like his voice the best

  • @IamTheMountainMan Yes, that's Mike Love! but you should hear Carl Wilson's voice...listen to Pet Sounds album :)

  • dennis fucked up right after Papa-Oom-Mow-Mow lol..

  • R.I.P Carl and Dennis!!!

  • This has to be in my top 5 of all time favorite Christmas songs...Just heard it tonight for the first time this season...You can never get tired of this great Christmas classic ;)

  • ahah at 5:05 Al jardine looking at the girls ahahahahah

  • I love Brian in that video

  • 1:05 - 1:09 <33333

  • And so headbanging was invented....

  • Too bad Mike Love went bald. He has "combover" now.

  • Brian was an awesome bass player...

  • Solid. Thanks very much.

  • dennis

  • This is a brilliant performance. I've never seen Brian look like he's enjoying himself on stage until I saw this clip! They all come across as pretty charismatic here, especially Dennis! I wonder what the BBs used to think when the dancers used to run across their sets, lol!

  • @KreeshaMe this appearence was about a month before brian's breakdown so thats why he is still enjoying performing before a live audience here. I was watching this the night it aired in 1964. in fact I watched all the shindig shows (at least the first season) the night they aired. hullabaloo was good too but nbc used people from their own shows to host which didn't work. who wants to see little joe cartwright (michael landon) introducing the byrds? this doesn't work! it was to "in-house".

  • they were on shindig 2 times the other time they were on a half hour straight the one where they start with dennis singing do you wanna dance

  • Omg!!! I Love the beach boys :3

  • Johnny B. Goode turned into a big Beach Boy hit - Fun Fun Fun, Listen to the beginning - almost the same song. You go Brian

  • if I had been there, my screams would have been stronger than all these girls, and throw me over the Beach Boys <3

    Dennis <3 Brian <3 Mike <3 Alan <3 Carl <3!!!

  • Awesomely gnarly dudes, the best homegrown So Cal musicians ever!

  • Now I understand how it could be that Manson was their friend.

  • Everyone is white, awesome!

  • John Stamos brought me here. lol

    The wonder of twitter.

  • Loves it

  • watching this helps me understand my dad's "goofiness" a little better... =)

  • That was really great. They were so young! Whoever dug that up, thanks. We had arranged for some wounded warriors to see them here in San Antonio a couple years ago, and arranged for them to meet the BBs. What was supposed to be a ver few minutes turned out longer. They were awesome to these soldiers. Didn't hurt we know some of them.

  • Interesting Carl is playing a Rick!

  • I remember watching this Shindig episode when I was in High School. It was Dec. 64, I think a Friday. Wow, for a BB fan then, this was a real thrill to see them play live. They were in competiton with all the British bands then, so it was important to get out there and show their stuff

  • Allo tout monde lolol

  • This is the best XMAS song written by the alleged greatest singers/witers-- Dylan , Lennon, McCartney, or Smokey Robinson. Only Chuck Berry comes close with his "Run, Run, Rudolph." Shows how good Wilson was in his prime.

  • L E G E N D A R Y

  • A song about a suped-up sleigh...that is so Beach Boys. Awesome.

  • I love love all The Beach Boys RIP Dennis and Carl

  • Wow!

  • This is an awesome clip! Denny and Mike are REALLY getting into it. You can see based on this clip why Dennis was chick magnet. It's hard to believe that Brian was so close to falling apart when this was done. He looks so relaxed and happy. I guess that's that's why they call it performance. The Beach Boys really gave it all they got for this performance.

  • @executiveoasis Very insightful comments! The only clue to Brian's true state of mind might be the sideways singing. But he was in truly fine voice here. Papa Oom is one of my favorites, I'm waiting every time for those screamed Papa's.

  • 3:37 is an awesome shot of the band. 4:00 is a good shot of the two lead and the drummer.

  • Woah, the girls are nuts for the drummer and when that guy does the high voice. Their lead singer really knows how to rock-out hahaha!!!

  • As Beach Boy fanatics....we thought " If the BeachBoys had put out a second Christmas album....what would be the follow-up to Little St. Nick....." so......since they didn't....WE DID....Please enjoy Santa's First Stop ~ Euclid Beach Band...our tribute to a legendary band.....summer would not be the same without those songs~ Thanks Brian, Carl, Dennis, Al, Mike and Bruce...

  • I hate Mic Love here

  • Beach Boys surfs

  • Love theses guys

  • Why can't life be like this all the time!

  • no need for covers!

  • Brian and Carl rule, But ever time thay pan back to Dennis...He shakes that huge head of hair and the crowd goes crazy!! I can't help but think that Mike thinks they are screaming at him while he dances. Little did he know it was Denny!! LOL!

  • bang the shit outta those drums denny !

  • This is a Christmas classic!!!!!!!

  • They were and still are the greatest Group ever..nobody could harmonize like them...plus they could really rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Brian's falsetto still sends chills up my spine

  • its funny because even though Brian is like the main man of the group it seems that Mike is the coolest for some reason of all of them!

  • It is great to see Brian smiling! He has always been my favorite, and still is!!

Brian, you still have sooo much to offer in music, and we see it in your newest music. Thank you, because your music has always made me happy!

  • This the REAL Beach Boys

  • what'd i say should also be on on youtube, ripping live cover of them.

  • I love that the crowd can contain themselves until whenever the cameras show Dennis-then it's screaming time! He was the best...

  • Mike's voice isn't to great here, but if it wasnt for mike, none of the great hits would of sounded the same.

  • Caption for Al Jardine at 5.08 should read "this is a helluva lot better than dentistry".

  • Brian seen here in happier times, singing and playing .... and at this time no pressure from Capital Records. thumbs up for posting this video.

  • BEACH BOYS RULE!!!

  • @houseadrian Yes. They totally do rule.

  • FAS1582 yea right the songs would have not been hits without mike love's singing and his voice and the fact that he comtributes alot with his vocals doing all the bass parts, that is a dumb comment

  • There's a song missing between Little Saint Nick & Papa Oom Mow Mow, for this performance that is, it's Monster Mash!

    OMG

  • looks like mike and brian are having a great time!

  • will the negative brian wilson fans ever go away!!! i doubttt it.

  • well said mike was cool ,.am fed up with all the talentless mike stuff,.

  • I love this group... very talented , Brian has such an amazing voice.

  • how short was al jardine

  • i think he was around 5'4-5'5. Brian was like 6'2, mike was 6'0-6'1, Carl and Dennis were like 5'9

  • i love the falsettos from brian starting at 3:11

  • Hell Yeah!

  • Man, that rocks BIG TIME! Great songs. Beach Boys at their zenith!

  • wow i just found this video, took so long, great songs!!

  • Waow was it Mike Love that started the headbanging `2:45-3:25

  • lol

  • haha :P

  • HA HA HA!! It knocked all the hair off of his head! lmao!!

  • Haha yes. And when he finally found out that it was the reason for his hairloss. Then he started on the stupid dance moves, and started to look like jesus :P

  • Thats so hilarious! I thoughtI was the only one who thought he thought he became Jesus..maybe he was praying for his hair back!

  • Haha yeah, trust me. There are many who thinks that he was trying to become jesus :D

  • Their best songs were still ahead of them but Beach Boys live was never better than this!
