  • Sheesh... remember listening to this on the radio going to sleep... wow.

  • Jesus did the record with Alien technology back in the Motown days?? This sound is simply out of space...

  • that was the day..........that my daddy died!

  • First heard this Dec of 72, sitting in a PX snack bar at Ft Gordon, GA. First time I ever smoked thai stick. Music sounded SOOOOO good! Still sounds good, 30 years of sobriety later...!

  • @DUCKBMET If we hear a specific song, it reminds us of the exact time, places where we were as u vividlyly remember, people who were with us as a timeline of our life story. My uncle 's favorite music too, Beautiful music's intro.

  • "And mama, that ain't right." Even though this tune totally is. Never heard a more complex, yet soulful story about a dysfuncisional family (long befor the term became a cliche) although this band was totally "funks-you-all." Sorry, in the mood for puns.

  • @GaminAndStuff25 i truly agree with you on that

  • AND Momma.....

  • Greatest bassline in history.

  • @MurphyMonster Yes. If not THE greatest, it's in the top 5 or ten. And the whole introduction on this song is......., uh,...........I can't describe it. It's that good. And this song is one the very best, written and performed, in popular music. And Motown has produced few this good. And that's saying something.

  • @MurphyMonster Oh, yeah...

  • superb sound of motown!

  • I love the bass line in this song...so simple yet so cool!

  • must learn guitar riffs!!!!! O_O

  • I first heard this song in a disco in Germany in early 73 I think. The place was full of GI.'s and German hippies smoking black hash in the can.Just like yesterday.

  • THE MIGHTY TEMPTATIONS...THE GREATEST SONG EVER WRITTEN-A MASTERPIECE.

  • This is and always will be a fantastic song.

  • Im only 19 and I can honestly say that music from back in the days when and before I was even thought of was the greatest music of all times...better than todays music that I listen to

  • @MsPoohbear515 today's noise people listen to isnt even considered music

  • Comment removed

  • I can't stop listening to this song, it has been in my dreams, and has not left since I heard it the first time with my mom, OMD I love this song!!!!

  • And Mama?

  • now, im not going to blindly hate contemporary music, but it is quite evident that there is a vast disparity between material like this and modern material. its really just a shift in values, so as to say that music today is oriented around the aesthetics of dance and synthetic sensuality, while previously, music had been oriented around musical aptitude and innovation and soulful expression

  • wait no it isnt

  • wait i believe this is instrumental

  • I love this song!

    Classic!

  • @Shamwow56 - - - - Maybe SaltwarerAir1 meant: "there are no words??" to having no lyrcis to read... not the song being instrumental (idiot Shamwow!)

  • @grasshoppa80 No, she replied back to my comment saying "yeah...i realized that after i posted the comment....lol" so you're wrong (idiot grasshoppa!)

  • @WEWILLSECURE What did that have to do with anything? I'm white and just stfu and listen to the music O_O

  • @WEWILLSECURE

    Da fuck.....? >:(

  • The genius of Black soul, at its best!

  • @WEWILLSECURE ಠ_ಠ

  • For those of you who aren't used to a long intro, they start singing at 1:56.

  • @banzaibiloba yeah but the instrumental builds up to an awesome song

  • @ACoKyo

True that. Most people usually hear old songs like this on popular TV shows or other places. They never hear it on a record or heard it in when it came out. Some were too young, like me. Nowadays, intros are never this classic and are maximum 30 seconds. You never hear funky bass or vintage strings in anything Lil wayne or Kesha makes, now do you?

  • @WEWILLSECURE

Maybe in Haiti, but not here in U.S., you random dumbass!

  • @WEWILLSECURE stfu dumb ass.that doesnt have shit to do with this song and it isnt true plus no black male is average were a great race and always be .tell that bitch

  • when i try to do the hand clapping stuff i feel like "the jerk" . Just cant get it but am really feelin it lol.

    oldguy

  • @WEWILLSECURE moodkiller? Are you bitter because your papa was a rolling stone, and wherever he laid his hat was his home, and when he died all he left you was a loan?

  • This song makes me cum in my pants.
