hands down, everybody. this is the first part (of 7) old sega's Dreamcast japanese commercial. if u follow the story, u'll know that it's not weird. it's unique and so creative that tells it's the reflection of sega's fortune at the time.

these commericals came about years ago right around when sega started to loose the council wars. I remember reading about them in game informer or some shit years back. The kids are talking about how much sega sucks, the man works for sega and his life sucks. They we're pretty funny.

Sega Ringedge late summer/early fall 2010. They've been in talks with Apple and Toshiba about a marketing partnership. The console will probably launch in Japan in early spring 2010 under the name "RINGSMASH" or "RINGWIDE".

It's clear that the blunt statement made by the kid that Nintendo is better than Sega distresses the man and will ultimately inspire him to try harder as well as implying that because of this blantant comparison Sega will try harder to improve its future console. ie, the console that surely followed soon after this ad aired.

I remember reading about this commercial in 1998. Sega was trying to build hype for, at the time, the Sega Dreamcast back in November 1998. I don't remember much, but I do remember, like Ceredir mentioned, this commercial was about kids saying how the PS1 and Sony were so much better than Sega. The head president (you see in the commercial) realizes that maybe those kids "might be" right. Hence, the transition from the poorly famed Sega Saturn into Sega Dreamcast.
