@Syrus7sk I know it is a fantastic film, I was hoping for a follow on, one of the few films I felt I would have happily had a sequel to. The man of steel isn't going to be a sequel which is unfortunate so the idea of him having a son is out the window.
He has to hold up thousands of tons with one arm and then gently hold the people without ripping Richard's arm off. Very good co-ordination IMO... Old Sup's knows how to make an entrance...
Brendan Routh looked too young to be regarded as a, 'MAN',... he looked too clean-cut, just like your regular 20-something, good looking guy,.. whereas Christopher Reeve looked like a MAN,. rugged, tough yet appealing enough at the same time. To me Superman should have been rugged, tough and manly - unlike the character played by Brendan Routh. Pity.
ripps the medal/or steel door off the boat like sheet paper , while holding a possible maybe a half ton object, then holding three helpless lives all in one hand, and oh! did i mention he's flying all at the same time? but you guys can see it im just so amazed how strong this fictional character truly is:)
@discovery2808 Half ton? Are you talking about the half a ship in his left hand? including the water that's already in it, I'd say it's more like a hundred thousand tons.
he controls lateral movement by sustaining the gravitational pull of the molecular density of the enviroment but hovering and yet holding a solid object at the same time....awsome''' Superman is the best!!!
@LisaAndJohnnyChannel - Lifting it out from the water, then holding it in mid air with 1 hand then ripping a steal door like it was nothing. Then lifting an airplane and guiding it in the right direction. Then to top it off he lifts a kryptonite island into space. I can't wait for the new movie The Man of Steel. Henry Cavill as Superman and Michael Shannon as General Zod
@Lex2see yes.. very impressive. The Strength that he must really have to lift that entire island of crystal that must have weighed well into the BILLIONS of tons or more is almost incomprehensible.. no wonder he was so exhausted that he passed out afterwards, which was also because he was being drained from the kryptonite too making it even more impressive. Similar to Spiderman stopping the runway train in Spiderman 2 using such incredible strength to hold onto the webs.

It boggles my mind why people hated this movie.

Lisa :D & omg Superman is my kind of HerO :) poor Lois wasn't awake 2 warn him bout Lex's Kryptonite trap :(...
Johnny, this is a great scene of Superman's strength, managing to lift the bow and save three people out of it before dropping it back!

it's just amazing that superman can lift something super heavy like a boat then transition and touch human flesh and bone. O_o
