  • OMG! Are you serious!? I LOVE this song! I had no idea that SHE sang it! I never would've guessed since it's on Silent Hill... I'm so surprised. lol

Any way... Motoko's my idol, and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn is my favorite voice actress. I can't take all the coincidences!!! DX

  • I don't care if she's a cyborg I would BEAT THAT ****

  • Dude you guys do not know how long I've been searching for this song! And on top of that it is in a video on my all time favorite anime! Thnx man!

  • This song sucks.

  • Of course, it was Mary McGlynn, (voice of Major Kusanagi) under one of her many stage names, Melissa Williamson.

  • From waht Episode is this Picture: 0:50

  • Silent Hill 3, right?.

  • the song is used in silent hill... did mary reallyl sing this song????

  • Motoko is hot.

  • Holy shit I just confirmed it. xD Wow.

  • No way she sings this doesn't she? O_O

  • That is the sexiest voice in the history of Anime!!

  • indeed.. ;)

  • what the hell is an AMV?

  • AMV = Anime Music Video....

is a music video consisting of clips from one or more anime series or movies set to songs; the term usually refers to fan-made unofficial videos

  • Thanks now i get it!

  • Mary Elizabeth McGlynn where did you find her music

  • song name-YoureNotHere by Akira yamaoka.. :)

  • Yes but the one who sings this version is none other than the same voice actress for Motoko Kusanagi (English Dub) - Mary Elizabeth MyGlynn!

  • i love her

  • a name song pls..

  • Mary Elizabeth McGlynn..for the epic multitalented win!

  • What the heck r u talking about? Motoko Kusanagi is Atsuko Tanaka too bad that u saw gits sac with english voices.

  • non si fa non si fa così cazzo

  • This is part of The Silent Hill 3 Ost song is "You're not here"

  • dude she is a great singer.... I'd love to meet her at a convention.... where did u get this song?

  • I just got the Alter Motoko figure today. One of the best figures of her.

  • I dig the hairstyle. Feel like this only works with rough Asian hair.

  • MARY ELIZABETH MCGLYNN!!! She`s my favourite voice actress and favourite singer although she doesn`t sing that much. And Motoko is my favourite character too! Awsum.

  • yep me too. i would LOVE to meet her someday

  • Production I.G. should make a special anime music video with Motoko on stage performing this song with section 9 as her band. Saitou on lead guitar Togusa on rythym guitar, Batou on Bass, Ishikawa as drummer, Tachikoma back up singers and the section 9 tech support chicks as back up dancers. the old ape would be the stage manager. Motoko's girlfriends would be in the crowd screaming out her name with tears in thier eyes and a wet patch on their seats.

  • ya that would be really cool!

  • tachikoma on drum please

  • yeah, that woud great. i guess Ishikawa could just sit in some dark, smoky corner of the bar with Borma and Pazu, drinking a bottle of Chivas Regal.

  • aw crap, i meant to type "that would BE great"

    -sumimasen

  • Batou's favourite Tachikoma would prolly be a awesome drummer

  • Motoko makes me so happy : )

  • me too

  • Comment removed

  • @GhostInTheShell09 lol, yeah, that would be cool.

  • *witch* ?!

  • Yes this is McGlynn. I recognize the voice. She's pretty good. She should try out for American Idol. ^ ^ I'D SO VOTE FOR HER!!!!!

  • I just downloaded this song from an MP3 site, and the the track is labeled with "Melissa Williamson" as the artist. but i see other comments below say its by someone else. who is it really? is it really the voice actor for the Major?

  • ok, to answer my own question? i just

wikkied SH3 OST and Motoko's voice actor.

it seems that: the song artist is

Mellisa Williamson = Mary Elizabeth McGlynn

and yes, Mary Elizabeth McGlynn is the american voice actress for Motoko! obviously, the creator of this post knew all that. awesome piece of work to put this together. much appreciated by a fan of both SH and GITS.

Double bonus points! Arigatou! ja matane!

  • further digging on Wiki reveals that

Mary Elizabeth McGlynn has a twin sister named Melissa. more pieces to the puzzle.

  • Melissa Williamson is one of merry elizebeth's names she's credited for. its on of her Alias so to speak. but its her dont worry. ^_^

  • great musik and movie. ^^

  • Hell yeah, she's hot and she sings what more could you ask for? thankks for the video!

  • really nice song^^

  • Well, now that everyone says how much the voices sound alike I'm kind of curious too. Who sings the song? Love the pics too ^.^

  • The name of the singer is Heather Morris(composed by Akira Yamaoka). This is the theme song for the game Sient Hill 3, and in the game she does the voice of Heather Mason.

  • Um no the actual singer is Mary Elizabeth McGlynn who also did the voice acting for Motoko Kusanagi. Which is why this amv is pretty spiffy. ^_^

  • Aww man, that was awsome!! I LOVE that song and both GitS and SH ROCK!!

  • I 'ld to see the episode where "the major" is attacked and eavily wounded by some kind of huge robots...

  • hommaustral that sounds like it maybe the final episode of stand alone complex or the final disk, damn i need to get a new job, 2nd gig is long over due for me

  • yes I think so>A big white robot.A new jb?Why?

  • um anyone else think that the singers voice would sound like the major's if she would sing?

  • The woman who does the majors voice sang this song for silent hill

  • NOOOOO WAYYYYYY!! they should do more of that! Thanks for the info!

  • holy crap! i never thought of/or noticed that, but hell yeah i think so too! just thinking of Motoko singin this makes the song that much better!

  • hey, thats the song from silent hill 3! sweeeet! hehehehehe.... its the heather song..... heather sexy beam....

  • anyone else bugged by motoko's many heads in gits 2?

her face, hair, features, all at random lengths and details.

  • very bugged, they had like 12 people drawing her at different episodes or something. ruins the animation 9looks real ugly sometimes too)

    still love Ghost though

I wish they couldve just done the people in cellshaded 3d too, but that would have taken too much energy for a whole series...

  • I am, it's like the only thing that stays the same is the hair.

  • wat ep is 1:17

  • - It's pretty cool that Mary Elizabeth McGlynn is a voice actress and a singer.

  • dude i knew. i'm not a nood and im not fucking stupid ok

  • Silent Hill & Ghost In The Shell = Awesome

  • ¡gau!, que buen video, y Motoko sale genial.

  • yeah....she did know and so did we..i think we all did at least, k new XD

  • my brain actually no longer links this to silent hill and now links it to motoko

  • i find it hard to believe that its he/she chose this tune by accident.. we all love motoko :)

  • um. the creator did know.

  • OMG FELLAS I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU HAVENT FIGURED IT OUT, THE CREATOR DIDNT EVEN REALIZE THIS LMAO

The person who sings this song is Mary Elizabeth McGlynn, Who in the American Version of GITS Stand Alone Complex IS the actual voice actress of Major Motoko Kusanagi. She both sings this song and is in actuality, Motoko Kusanagi in the Amercan Dubed Ghost in the Shell Series

Ironic that the creator chose this song and didnt even realize its relationship to the actual character of Motoko

  • awesome, you done motoko proud

  • yup motoko is sexy in a mature way

  • she sure does!

  • Motoko Kusanagi as usual, kicking ass. Nice video. Already posts have been made concerning Silent Hill 3. I played that game a few times and to be honest, it's the only good Silent Hill game. Anyway, that doesn't matter..What matters is Motoko Kusanagi and she continues to kick ass. ^_^

  • yupp its deffinatly mary mcglynn, heck for me soemtimes it sounds like motoko singing

  • Hell yea Motoko is my all time favorite too!!!! Nice video

  • no is Mary Elizabeth McGlynn but the characters name was (Akira Yamaoka i guess iv never seen the movies but i do no that is Mary Elizabeth McGlynn for a fact

  • no, its actually the main character of Silent Hill 3 who sings this song, i cant remember her name though.

  • The person who sings this song is Mary Elizabeth McGlynn or the voice actress of Motoko Kusanagi. ^^

  • The person who sings this song is Mary Elizabeth McGlynn or the voice actress of Motoko Kusanagi. ^^
