Check out Joe Bonamassa, Tab Benoit, & Michael Burks. Also, John Mayall, BB King, JJ Cale, Eric Clapton & Buddy Guy are still playing.
This recording has plenty of noise on the floor. It sounds like one track analog. The playing is all right. Likely an old reel to reel recording. Some people still enjoy playing the blues and most rock and rollers can play it very well when they want too. It was lost to some extent on the musicians within Gen-Y but as a Gen-Y'er myself I can play the blues. And the pentatonic scale is pretty much inescapable in modern rock guitar playing and tracked somewhere into almost every effort.

no most rockers cant play the blues well sure anyone can play tabs but the blues is feeling not just a scale
