This video can be improved. You forgot that the pages of the Koran can be rolled up and used for tampons also. For heavy flows I think you can gold one up and use it as a tampon
isn't it funny how the eucharists at 1:04 look a lot like pills? maybe the eucharist is a drug to keep the catholics from thinking, that would explain a lot
I really like the quran designer ass wipe , someone should market the stuff even mix it up a bit with the bible , book of moron and of course the torah
I support your comment Kpetals, The maker of this video actually shows he does not support freedom for all of us to have a view point & just shows that the maker of this video Is the "ignorant fuck" more comments like yours need to be said letting the makers of this shit know they are the TRUE HYPOCRITES not letting PZ Myers have his voice as well as he is the 1 that actually put this Desecration video together and posted it.
Good job Kpetals for pointing out that this KINTAROCRAB is A FUCK!
I dont appologise but But your original comment was very open for interpretation and it looked as if you were talking Crap about PZ. so i thought id give something for the maker of this stupid video to read by what i thought was turning your comment around on you. But now I know your a Non-Theist you could not have ment it the way i read it.
ok, I still don't understand what you are trying to talk about or what "original comment" you are referring too. Am right to assume your original comment was some sort of satire?
It was intended to be a purly asshole way to ReAddress a comment back at one of the jackass comments someone said about you and your video. but now that i look at the comment log it didn't reply to there comment but inctead it was sent to you as a new comment & it was all down hill from their.
sure but what's worse: eye strain or ear strain when my child screams to watch this ridiculous movie? pete's dragon is his favorite, and there's only so much helen reddy one can watch!
That's tough, and plums will not do the job, unfortunately. Just kidding. Sometimes too much television will do it as well. It may be that the eyestrain cause by sitting in front of the "tube " will produce a headache. Have you considered that?
well, I didn't this morning, then I watched "Pete's Dragon" with my son about 3 times, and now my head is really throbbing. Unfortunately, I'm plum out of bananas :(
No, you're not getting my drift at all. I don't think the banana can hurt you, just that you should run it by your physician first. You don't have the migraine now, do you?
enhances, my good fellow, why are you going on about chocolates, when you can easily see we are talking about bananas. Chocolate, in my specific case, often caused migraines. Red wine was often a culprit too, as well as seafood. Now if you can talk about something related to what I've said, or to this video, then we can have a conversation. Please do not minimize my pain, sir. It is painful to me when we don't talk about bananas. Do they use bananas in any Italian desserts, perchance?
Yes, tonyloves, migraines are miserable critters indeed. But before you try the banana cure, it's wise to consult wit hyour physician to make sure you don't have anything seriously wrong with you, like God forbid, an aneurysm or a tumor. If your health checks out OK, then go for the banana.
are you guys for real?!! Bananas curing headaches? It seems a little wacky to me, but I'll try anything once!!! Especially for migraines! They can be real whoppers!
like intolerance to light, which can be very nasty indeed. So please do not make light of my suffering. Well I don't suffer anymore; the migraines went away about ten years ago.
I would appreciate a serious response, if you please, sir. Headaches are a most serious matter indeed. And migraines are the worst kind imaginable, far worse than the simple "tension headaches" that plague most of the population. Not only must the sufferer contend with the excruciating pain factor, but the whole miserable scenario is frequently accompanied by nausea, very similar to the nausea one often experiences after watching videos on the internet. There are also visual symptoms
potassium content in the banana. Coffee taken with a regular painkiller such as aspirin also helps the painkiller work more quickly. That is why many commercial painkillers have caffeine as an ingredient. The music in this video is also very nice indeed.
to cure just about any kind of ache - place a banana skin on your forehead then go visit the most serious person you know. Stay speaking to them for at least 15 minutes whilst refusing to acknowledge the presence of said banana skin. It should help you forget just any problem that is bothering you.
I really love Swiss chocolate truffles. The swiss tradition of uncompromising quality meets the chocolate truffle. The result is a chocolate lovers dream. Premium milk and dark chocolates cover soft centers made of whipped chocolate and heavy cream, accentuated with ammaretto, espresso, blackp\erry pure and other special flavors. Colorfully decorated each truffle has a deeep, rich chocolate taste with silky smooth consistency and a delightful finish. I loves these chololates.
I was serious about my banana skin cure. But if I remember correctly, it only worked about fifty percent of the time, which doesn't seem to be very good odds at all. I mean, if you're going to go to all of the trouble of eating the banana and putting the skin on your head, you want to be able to depend on it to work! Now, I do notice what appear to be coffee grounds in the trash. Coffee sometimes works marvelously all by itself to cure a headache. And the next time you respond to me,
I notice a banana peel there in the trashcan. I once heard of a "folk remedy" for migraines involving bananas and their peels. Since I suffered terribly from migraines, and nothing else worked, I thought I'd give the "banana cure" a shot. And it did work! The cure is simple: eat an entire banana. Don't throw away the banana peel, but place it over your forehead. Then try to take a nap. When you wake up, the migraine headache will be gone. It's supposed to work because of the high
I wonder how long you have the strength to wait for your judgement day? 2000 years more? 3000? 10000? Or maybe it is sooner when reality hits you and you understand that no Lord Cookie or no Lord Jebus will flutter down from clouds.
Jesus H tap-dancing fucking Christ. A lot of the theist responses look like a gigantic parade of stupid, followed up by an even larger carnival of stupefaction.
That article is somewhat dubious when comparing the United Kingdom with the USA. Sure, the USA has some of the highest figures for practicing religion in the Western world but the United Kingdom also has an affiliation rate of 84.5%!
I would agree completely that a "God is on our side" approach to religion is terrible and certainly detrimental. I would also argue that the majority of Christians and most certainly Catholics believe evolution to be true, a fact the article appears to ignore.
The UK is not as religious as you think. What are you quoting for that 84.5%? Less than 10% of the population attend church services regularly in England.
I don't know where your figures are coming from. I'm relying on the work over the past thirty years of the National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago. They show that numbers of believers in Western Europe are very high indeed. Church going, of course, is a different matter. Last polls I read maintain that well over 90% of people in the West believe in God. I have reported this video, is is absolutely disgusting. I will pray for you!
PrinceAntonVoytek, I don't know who you're trying to defend, but it's people like you who give people of faith a bad name.
Kintarocrab, Atheism has as much negative impact on society as religious belief does, to turn into a society without belief and hope in a better day to come would be a terrible thing.
You're both self-obsessed.
Atheists need to have a good look at who they're criticising, for the most part right wing fundamentalists who do not deserve to be called Christians anyway.
"Societies worse off 'when they have God on their side'", times online do a search for it on google, youtube won't let me put the link here. I showed you mine now you show me yours.
"Atheism has as much negative impact on society as religious belief does, to turn into a society without belief and hope in a better day to come would be a terrible thing."
Where do you get this from? Why would you think atheism equates to no belief or hope in a better day to come? Atheists are just as capable as theists, if not more, to have hope for a better future. What we don't do, however, is cling to unproven fairy tales of of an afterlife no one alive has ever seen.
I don't get why people of religious faith are treated the way they are? Whether you agree with them or not is of absolutely no consequence, as long as they aren't hurting anyone I don't see the need for this hatred.
While personally being of Catholic faith I am more than willing to accept that you may have no belief in God, I'm not going to evangelise you-that just aint cool, but I'm more than willing to sit down and have a sensible conversation with you about belief, both yours and mine.
Dude step out of your box, religion has a major negative impact on society. Why do you think there is so much opposition to gay marriage, stem cell research, contraceptive use, and abortion?
Christian, while always open for a discussion, as I suspect we won't have many differences anyhow. What I would prefer is sensible believers as you present yourself to be, and I have no reason to doubt, to confront the extremist elements in your own faiths. As long as you(in general) allow them to exist, and sometimes even favor their devotion, there is really nothing more we can say.
Hobu It is PZ, you, and yours that claim it is a cookie. Due to that insistence, as law abiding citizens, you should assert that these be prosecuted as property crimes. Applicable 2008 Minnesota Statutes: Property Crimes 609/52 609/53 609/595 609/72 609/74 609/765 609/79 Jul 8: "score me some" 609/05 If PZ protects his sources of hosts 609/495 Accepted as consecrated, this can be made to apply 307/08 The truth an how God sees these acts: 609/222
Mr. Cook's self-proclaimed advocates and defenders, PZ Myers of U of Minnesota, and Dominique Poulin of Quebec Canada went beyond Mr. Cook, by not only illegally acquiring their hosts, but then destroying them very publicly, accompanied by shows of arrogance, derision, and mockery, all done with an invalid sense of impunity.
They also have called others to commit the same crimes. Incitement is the Legal Terminology for that.
Although you and others are attempting to have this framed in the court of public opinion as a free speech issue. That is a false framework for it; especially to any and all who choose to disregard the real presence in the Eucharist, and claim that the host is (by their own admission) a piece of real property... with an owner, who has property rights protected by the state.
Those property rights were violated when Mr. Cook misrepresented himself in order to fraudulently obtain the "property". The Catholic Eucharist is offered only to people satisfying very specific qualifications, and accepting very specific conditions for handling.
Most noteworthy, is that each recipient must verbally assent to the conditions of this contract (covenant) when the host is held up before them and described as "Body of Christ". The recipient must speak publicly the word "amen", which is no less than their public, verbal agreement that they understand and accept the contract and it's conditions, and that they will honor it. It is only then that they are given a host.
Unqualified individuals can only acquire this particular type of property through deception and perjury. Once received into the hand of such a perpetrator, the property status changes to "stolen". There are criminal statutes in force in all US states that prohibit misrepresentation, fraud, theft, transport of stolen goods, and destruction of property. What was done in fact breaks several laws.
The secular law of the land applies here as well as it does to any physical location in the US.
Alright idiot, the youtube comment box is not the police department! If this was against the law the police would do something about it, but guess what it isn't, and your insane rantings won't change that.
nyah nyah nyah, well then, we shall see if your idiotic case against Dr. Myers bears any fruits, and when they don't who do you think will get the final laugh.
Youtube has got to remove these types of videos. I just can't believe how many of them are posted here. I am utterly offended by all the desecrations of the eucharist. I hope that these are removed soon.
I hope so, too, akuryi. It amazes me how this kind of hate speech is tolerated. It is scary to think of how quickly people defend this. What is next -- a new persecution in which Christians are killed for their beliefs?
Well, actually I was referring to a persecution similar to the Marxist-Leninist hysteria in the old Soviet Union -- which was primarily atheist, of course.
This is hate speech. Only one who supports the hate speech would find this humorous (similar to the way Nazis treated the Jews). So it is clear where you stand. And this is how persecution starts. Oh, all in good fun, they say. Then they take a little more, and a little more. Then, like in the USSR, we are imprisoned for believing in God, because theism is seen as such a horrible sickness that we need to be removed from society. Would you want to imprison us?
You're the Jew and I'm the Nazi? Very dramatic. Hitler, of course, was the pope of his own little "religion".
Of course we don't want to lock you up or kill you, but then, according to you guys, I'M the one who's going to burn in the fires of Hell for all eternity.
I'm very lucky - I live in Britain, a place where the very religious are thought of as slightly silly by the majority, even those who are religious themselves. But in the US, the religious run the country, seemingly priding themselves on THEIR God (not the hundreds of other Gods) dictating their actions.
Everyone can live their lives without believing in magical nonsense. Religion is simply wishful thinking. All you need is a belief in people. And how much faith do you need for that?
Errr...not quite. Those with the most power and influence are secularists. That is one of the reasons so many American despise Bush so much, because he doesn't accept the secularist agenda.
ScarranHafBreed, Thank you for saying you dont want to lock us up or kill us -- you have successfully distanced yourself from the atheists who ran the USSR, and the Maoist atheists who currently run China. In terms of burning in hell, I never said you would. But, of course, if you are an atheist, you don't even believe that hell exists, so why would you care?
ScarranHalfBreed: "Yeah, shock news: Atheists can be just as deplorable as people who believe in some mystical garbage. It gives me a migraine just thinking about it."
Wow, thanks for saying that. You are the first atheist I have ever heard to ever admit that.
You haven't been talking to atheists very long then.
Some atheists and theists can be horrible people because some people are horrible people.
This is why it bothers me when Christians point out the good things that Christians do as if they're the only ones who can do them, or as if it's because of their beliefs that they do them. Most Christians are good people because most people are good people.
"I hope so, too, akuryi. It amazes me how this kind of hate speech is tolerated. It is scary to think of how quickly people defend this. What is next -- a new persecution in which Christians are killed for their beliefs?"
Yes, because there is just such a tiny difference between driving a nail through a cracker and killing innocent people.
"Yes, because there is just such a tiny difference between driving a nail through a cracker and killing innocent people."
Check out a link provided by the guy who made the video "my flagging campaign against fsmdude." A recent story shows a self-proclaimed atheist recently tried to murder two women for being Christian. He actually tried to cut their heads off! Crazy atheist.
"Check out a link provided by the guy who made the video "my flagging campaign against fsmdude.""
Wow, that has got to be the single most useless citation I've ever seen. The link 'provided' isn't on his user page, it isn't on this page, it isn't on his 'flagging campaign' video, and there's no way I'm sifting through all 115 of his videos to find it.
Tell me specifically WHERE he provides the link, or post it yourself.
He wasn't a crazy atheist. He was a crazy person who happened to be an atheist. His being an atheist has nothing to do with his actions. Atheism has no teachings, no tenets, no dogmas, and no doctrines. There is no holy book by which to justify any action. Blaming atheism for what that guy did is like blaming mustaches for what Hitler and Stalin did. You have to establish a causal link between the belief and the action before you can blame the action on the belief.
Opposition is mounting, and more and more people are asking that youtube be CONSISTENT in its refusal to allow hate speech. Let us pray that videos like this will be pulled from youtube and that we can have a tolerant and respectful environment once again.
cont.- I do not think we will understand one another, just know that those of us who oppose this video have the same passion for the Eucharist, as you have for defending this video. You're not in a place where you can understand us, but one day you will. What we believe in and practice, if done well- and unfortunately, I believe those of us who haven't done well have a lot to do with your opposition to us- brings us true peace and true joy, whereas PZ Meyer's vidoes will never do that for you.
Chrisman737- I agree; this videos are hateful, but since they're not responding I'm flagging them as offensive. If muslims become aware of this I'll bet they'll be taken off really fast, and once this goes, youtube would have to take the others in order to remain consistent.
Cafeeine- If you know latin american spanish, then you'll know that Xiomara is a name; a religious name
Xio-Christ and Mara-mary. Three refers to the three Trinity. I'm very happy to have this name.
"...but since they're not responding I'm flagging them as offensive."
You are right, xio3mara. Others told me the same thing. So I am starting to flag these videos as well. It just amazes me that other hate videos, such as that young person peeing on a Holocaust Memorial, was taken off very quickly, but this video, which obviously goes beyond that, it kept on youtube. But I will keep flagging away.
What are you people talking about? I responded to almost every comment made on this video. I guess there is no way to get across to you crazed believers. Flag away, my video's won't be taken down, your own accounts will probably be banned instead for harassment and misuse of the flagging feature.
How cowardly to title this in such a way that this video remains hidden from muslims. Are you afraid?I dare you to retitle this video so muslims find it first.
"How cowardly to title this in such a way that this video remains hidden from muslims. Are you afraid?I dare you to retitle this video so muslims find it first."
Good point, xio3mara. This video attacks Muslims as well.
There is a move, by the way, as others have indicated, to get these hate videos removed from youtube, just as other hate videos have been removed in the past. People are asking youtube to be consistent in its policy.
Whatever happened to atheists who were reasonable and not hate-filled? Isaac Asimov seemed to be a rather mature and well-balanced fellow, and even wrote a commentary on the Bible. Arthur C. Clarke I would have to say I actually admired a great deal. He seemed to have a calm maturity about him which was way above the silliness we see in the above video. When speaking on religion, he was brief and never hate-filled. Why can't today's atheists be like that? That's all I am asking.End the hate.
If by reasonable, you mean acquiescent, there are still many, but some of us have begun stating that irrational beliefs cannot be afforded a free pass any more. A belief claim in ancient superstitions cannot be an excuse for immoral behavior or corrupt organizations that coopt the good of their virtuous members while projecting their failings on "satanic influence"
"End the hate." We are trying, by example, through logic and sometimes through ridicule, but you are resisting. Open your eyes Chris
And just who the hell are you to decide which beliefs are irrational and which arent?
Some superior atheist paragon who knows all?
You trample under foot beliefs and faiths which you yourself are incapable of comprehending, let alone coming to an undrstanding of,and then mock the people who can and do.
That, sir/madame, is called BIGOTRY,no matter if you believe in God or not.
It's ideological racism of the most venomous kind, and you and Myers,Dawkins and the rest are as bad as Hitler ever was
Atheists are obviously free to think what they want. To verbally attack people for their beliefs is hateful. To encourage and participate in the stealing of sacred objects from churches is hateful and, hopefully one day, criminal. Atheists, please respect our beliefs and stop promoting hatred and bigotry. Thank you.
I have never heard anyone say that atheists are spawns of Satan. I have not heard many preachers (protestant??) and I have heard many many priests, and none have sad that. If it is true, it wounds like hate speech. And this, of course, does not automatically cancel out the hate speech and hateful actions of PZ Myers and other militant atheists.
preacher was meant as a generic term for clergy. I have heard it from Greek orthodox (moreso those, due to location), protestants, catholics, evangelicals, and some nondescript firebrand preachers.
I have been very clear and to the point with you. But what is the use? You have made up your mind. You will defend PZ Myers until your dying day. That is very sad. So many people of different faiths are targeted by Myers hate video. I can beg you to foster peace, but I can't force you. You have clearly made up your mind. Reason and pleading will not sway you. For my part, I forgive you for your part in fostering hatred.
You have declared Myers' action hateful without showing why it is so. When explained otherwise you ignore, evade and inundate me with pleas to 'stop the (imagined) hate'. You want me to acknowldge that expresing my POV in word and in lawful action is inheretly offensive and hateful to you, which is absurd. I offer evidence, you offer emotional pleas. In defense of your transsubstantiated deity you defend death threats. The actual hatred is all a scroll away in black pixels.
"...established his personal fictional world as a reality,..."
Your prejudice is unrelenting, and so is your ardent defense of Myers who has been attacking theists of all kinds for years. Even when it seems that you have finally gotten the point you dip back down into hatred and prejudice. I have tried to reason with you. And I thought atheists treasured reason? Incredible. I beg you to renounce the hateful actions of Myers and renounce hate from your life.
My prejudice? A prejudice is a preconceived notion, usually used for false notions. Are you telling me you don't believe in a god you have no evidence for? (and no, faith is not evidence) I keep hammering the point to you and you keep coming back with straw men accusations about hatred, almost as if you don't have an actual answer to my arguments. you invent hatred for Myers and defend it on your side. Your continuing hypocrisy is frankly all that keeps me responding. Matt. 7:5 comes to mind.
All we are asking is that, if you are an atheist, please do not invade our churches, steal our hosts, and desecrate them. If you don't believe, then why go into our churches anyway??? I would never presume to simply march into an atheist's office somewhere and start tearing up books and papers. C'mon, atheists, show some decency and maturity. Stop with the hate crimes.
Why are you doing this? I'm really shocked. You hurt the feelings of faithful Catholics and Muslims. Do you think this is a way to peace in our world? I tell you, it isn't. Do not to your neighbor what you would take ill from him. Stop it NOW!!!!
"The law, unfortunately for you, does not recognise your right to not be offended..."
We are not talking about a right to not be offended. We are talking about a right to celebrate our rites in peace without having atheists invade our churches, steal sacred objects, and desecrate them. That you say we have a "crazy mental illness" is hate speech. A radio host says one nasty comment about blacks and gets fired. Catholics are trampled upon and no one cares. Double standard.
it is a double standard, and a just one. Race cannot be chosen. Religion is chosen. two different issues. And I doubt you've flinched whenever atheists are called nihilistic devil-worshiping sinners. "Trampled", like an elephant by an ant.
I looked you up again Chris because Myers put up the latest samples of letters by your fellow believers. They seem not to be stopping. Read some of those letters to see how they seem to envision 'peace'. Getting people who openly disagree with them fired.
"The crackers are given to the nonbeliever. Hence it is not stealing..."
Yes it is. Here is why. The hosts are distributed to the FAITHFUL as part of the rite of communion. The assumption is always a worthiness to receive and that the person believes. Part of the rite has the priest saying "The Body of Christ" as he presents the host. The person receiving says "Amen," agreeing that it is the Body of Christ. To receive as a non-believer in order to walk away with the host is stealing.
Atheists are free to dissent and free to disagree. But to advocate the stealing and desecration of objects sacred to certain religions is hateful and ought to be punishable under the law. No question about it. I hope all atheists will try to foster peace and understanding instead of supporting hateful actions.
I don't agree with stealing. I think that's possibly one of the reasons I criticize religion. After all, the amount of money they have stolen from gullible people who are influenced by untestable threats of hell, must be enormous. I also have difficulty respecting a religion that vilifies those who don't believe by comparing them to what they believe to be the epitome of evil - the anti-christ. Before you lecture others on being hateful, perhaps you should look at your scripture.
"We understand that you hold certain things as sacred. You do not seem to understand that we do not, with all that that entails."
I do understand. So here is the deal (as I have said before)...if you do not hold the host as sacred, then don't go to our churches. Don't go to Mass. Don't get in line to receive the host. Don't say "Amen." When the priest says, "The Body of Christ." Don't receive the host. It's that simple. At long last, do you get it now???
I don't do any of these things. Neither do I consider them blasphemous. I do consider them on a par with sneaking into a private club, and this eucharist affair (for those entering the churches, provided they actually went there to disrupt the service)with petty theft. And in the original incident, these petty crimes (which didn't actually happen. Myers' wafer was taken years ago), done in protest, are worth doing. Your claims of hatred and prejudice are just smokescreens.
Good for you. Hatred and prejudice smokescreens? I think not. Hatred and prejudice clearly comes through with every word from Myers and every action that he and his army of atheist friends inflict on us and our beliefs. Do you think painting swatztikas on Jewish homes is "worth doing?" Do you think burning a cross on the lawn of a black family is "worth doing?" I urge you to change your thinking on this and embrace tolerance instead of hate.
This is rich! That you place crackers on equal ground as human lives saddens me. Here I am talking about smokescreens, and you go and bring up swastikas and burning crosses (some of the finest examples of bigotry by the religious) in comparison with manhandling baked goods in protest against an act of violence by the religious. Spin, spin, spin your straw men, they no longer work. I urge you to look at the hate inherent in your own religion and change it for the better.
And you still do not understand. Your own prejudice blinds you. To say, "it is just a cracker" is just like painting a swastika on a Jewish home and saying, "so what, it is just a bunch of painted lines." That is why I bring up these other hateful actions -- they are more than just a burning cross or painted lines. Just as your defense of host desecration is more than just "manhandling baked goods." Now, at long last, do you finally understand???
And that you have the gall to say that the actions you so ardently defend are "worth doing" prompted me to ask you if other hateful actions were "worth doing." Apparently you see very well the hatred in others (for example, in those who are racist and/or anti-Semitic) but you fail to see the same tendency in yourself. I will ask you again to please do not invade our churches and steal sacred objects AND please do not defend people who do such things.
And, of course, our concern as religious is quite profound, since the history of atheists persecuting, imprisoning and killing theists is quite bloody indeed. This is what happens when atheists set the tone for a society. Please convince me that I am wrong. Please convince me that you are reasonable. Please do so by giving up your hate and your defense of those who do hateful actions.
Please stop the propaganda chris, you are truly not doing your side any favors. The facts are that Cook, a catholic took his eucharist with him, wrongly by religious terms but not illegal. He was 1st assaulted, and then campaigned against by the CL for a "hate crime". Myers heard about it and made his initial proclamation in protest of this outrageous behavior, and having been sent the thing did the deed. If there is any hate it is towards the misanthropic behavior shown by catholics.
Facts are these ... Cook took the Eucharist out of the context of the rite. He was asked to consume it, he said no. He was asked to give it back, he said no. People tried to get it from him (gently) and he ran away with it. Myers heard it and did NOT simply make a "proclamation" but called on people to steal hosts for him so he could desecrate them. Now many atheists have joined his ranks with a full scale attack on Catholics. These are facts.
And I suppose Donohue's efforts against Cook and Myers, as well as the menacing letters and death threats they received are figments of the imagination, are they?
And "full scale attack on catholics"?? Really Chris? A bunch of youtubers make videos and its a 'full scale attack'? No wonder you can't get it that eucharist abuse has no relation to swastikas and burning crosses. You really enjoy the drama don't you?
Repeating your persecution fantasy will not make it any more tangible. Agan, you confuse active dissent with hatred. If you are attacked, bullied, threatened out of a job, out of your livelihood, or about your life, I'll be on your side, whether the culprit is atheist or theist. Thing is, the only people in that position are Myers and Cook. What Myers did was akin to destroying a Star Wars DVD in front of rabid SW fans. Not even, in his own front lawn. Not in hate, but in protest.
"Repeating your persecution fantasy..." And once again, you fail to understand. Someone who paints a swastika on the door of a Jewish family is not actively "attacking" the person directly or "threatening" them "out of a job" or "out of their livelihood." (your words). And so, I invite you to THINK once again...would you support the painting of swastikas on the doors of Jewish families? When will you understand that, yes, Catholics ARE being attacked (and Muslims, too).
I do understand, I also disagree that your examples have anything to do with this situation. Tryin g to draw a parallel does not mean there is one there.
"What Myers did was akin to destroying a Star Wars DVD in front of rabid SW fans..."
A sentence which clearly indicates, once again, that you have little or no understanding of the situation. Is burning a cross on the lawn of a black man's house equal to making a star wars fan angry? Think, Caffeine, why did Myers do this? To make a star wars fan all upset? Oh really? Is that why Richard Dawkins wrote an entire book attacking theists? Think, Caffeine, think.
I understand chris, I just don't buy into your delusion that atheists are hateful bigots. You keep talking about swastikas and burning crosses while those are actual instances of bigotry.
Try to realize that to an atheist, you are essentially an SW fan that has established his personal fictional world as a reality, and then is outraged when I throw a SW poster in the trash. You are imagining ulterior motives because you can't handle that people consider your beliefs fairy tales.
"I just don't buy into your delusion that atheists are hateful bigots..."
Then you do not understand or refuse to understand. And, obviously, I do not believe that all atheists who ever lived and ever will live are bigots. But many atheists are bigots. And those who attack others merely because they believe in God are being hateful towards others.
Obviously some atheists are bigots. But the actions that you describe as bigoted and hateful are simply not so. You refuse to see the real situation here, the reasons behind people's actions. You view Donohue's attacks as justified self-defense and Myers' actions as unprovoked, out-of-the-blue knee-jerks, and since you refuse to acknowledge the provocation, you attribute them to hate.
"But the actions that you describe as bigoted and hateful are simply not so."
A neo-Nazi who was interviewed said, "Look, we don't want to hate anybody. All we want to do is get people to realize that the blacks are dangerous and we need to preserve our white race." You say, "oh, we don't hate anybody. We just steal sacred objects from churches and desecrate them and ask others to do so because we are simply protesting the delusional beliefs of theists." Sound a little similar. Think.
Not really, not to each other and not to reality. The nazi wishes to impose his beliefs on others, opposing mixed relations and resorting to violence. Myers did nothing of the sort. Furthermore, you forget that the protest was not against your beliefs, but against your *actions* against Cook and Myers. You keep getting your facts wrong.
"...to an atheist, you are essentially an SW fan"
And you are now still blind to your own prejudice. Now think very very hard. Do you think that maybe, just maybe, calling a person a fan of some science fantasy because they believe in God might be insulting? And do you think that maybe people before you said such things as this (people like Marx, Lenin, and Stalin, as well as Napoleon)? And do you know history and what these people did to Catholics and Christians? Do you not see???
It is not a prejudice when it is factual. You believe in a supernatural creator, right? I consider this creator human fiction. I would consider it an insult to lie to you and let you believe I don't consider your beliefs ridiculous.
As you the "ancestral sins" argument, do I really have to enumerate all the atrocities done by people who thought they had God's ear and that God whispered in theirs?
Just what the Nazis said: "it is a fact that Jews are an inferior race and really sub-human. It can be established by science." Fast forward to now: "It is a fact that there is no God, therefore it is a fact that all those who believe in God are delusional. Thus we have a right to steal their sacred objects and desecrate them because it is a fact that we are more reasonable than they are." Do you know how silly you sound?
"I'm not guilty" is a phrase said by many guilty men. By your rationale, anyone who makes the claim can be considered guilty therefore, without any attempt at finding the truth. Thats the kind of argument your post conveys and that in fact sounds silly.
It is a fact that you CONSIDER this creator to be fictitious. It is YOUR OPINION (not fact)that theists are nothing more than SW fans. It is YOUR OPINION (not fact) that religious people are delusional. It is YOUR OPINION (not fact) that the stealing of sacred objects from churches is defensible.
So in your opinion, expressing MY opinion of your opinion is hateful? Is your opinion above criticism? Are your actions based on your opinions above reproach? When your indefensible opinions are the cause of real world harm, we should stay silent because you are offended? You claim this to be so and still you are not the aggressor here?
The irony in that statement is stupefying, as the only people engaged in hateful actions against living beings in this event are Catholics. You are advocating hate, while shouting down your victims to 'stop being hateful'!
And please don't respond..."oh, hosts aren't living beings." Even if you believe this to be the case, the action is still designed to foster hatred against living breathing human beings.
No it isn't. It was proposed as an act of protest, and culminated as both that and a claim that 'nothing is sacred'. How does manhandling a cracker foster hatred against living human beings? Tell me from the rationale Myers expounded in his post, how does that lead to hatred? And if you offer no analogies to Stalinists or Nazis, I won't compare Donohue to the Inquisition.
I have a good case that the being described in the bible is the product of fallible human minds that has not been refuted to my satisfaction. Whether a creator exists is an open question, with scant evidence for and no positive way to falsify. Your god concept however is as likely as the FSM, so if you want me to stop talking about it, either preset proof or, like Donohue, try to bully me into silence, which speaks volumes for the evidence he has to offer.
I know people believe that our beliefs are fairy tales. And there are people who believe that Hitler was "misunderstood" and that Israel should be wiped off the map. There are people who believe that blacks and whites must always live separately. Some people just write about these things. But others turn their beliefs into hateful actions, like painting swastikas, stealing sacred objects and desecrating them, burning crosses, and so on.
Good job, PZ!

No, you're not getting my drift at all. I don't think the banana can hurt you, just that you should run it by your physician first. You don't have the migraine now, do you?
Telmanyi 3 years ago
enhances, my good fellow, why are you going on about chocolates, when you can easily see we are talking about bananas.

I would also argue that the majority of Christians and most certainly Catholics believe evolution to be true, a fact the article appears to ignore.
christian7052 3 years ago
The UK is not as religious as you think. What are you quoting for that 84.5%? Less than 10% of the population attend church services regularly in England.
kintarocrab 3 years ago
I don't know where your figures are coming from. I'm relying on the work over the past thirty years of the National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago. They show that numbers of believers in Western Europe are very high indeed. Church going, of course, is a different matter. Last polls I read maintain that well over 90% of people in the West believe in God. I have reported this video, is is absolutely disgusting. I will pray for you!
redpainter2 3 years ago
PrinceAntonVoytek, I don't know who you're trying to defend, but it's people like you who give people of faith a bad name.
Kintarocrab, Atheism has as much negative impact on society as religious belief does, to turn into a society without belief and hope in a better day to come would be a terrible thing.
You're both self-obsessed.
Atheists need to have a good look at who they're criticising, for the most part right wing fundamentalists who do not deserve to be called Christians anyway.

What we don't do, however, is cling to unproven fairy tales of of an afterlife no one alive has ever seen.
forger42 3 years ago
I don't get why people of religious faith are treated the way they are? Whether you agree with them or not is of absolutely no consequence, as long as they aren't hurting anyone I don't see the need for this hatred.
While personally being of Catholic faith I am more than willing to accept that you may have no belief in God, I'm not going to evangelise you-that just aint cool, but I'm more than willing to sit down and have a sensible conversation with you about belief, both yours and mine.
christian7052 3 years ago
Dude step out of your box, religion has a major negative impact on society. Why do you think there is so much opposition to gay marriage, stem cell research, contraceptive use, and abortion?
kintarocrab 3 years ago
Because atheists are mentally dishonest with everyone, especially themselves.
They cannot bring themselves to bow the kneee to their Creator, because of their overwheening self-importance,not to mention poisonous pride.
''I'd rather spend forever in a self-created limbo, than a Hell or Heaven created by an actual God to Whom I owe all fealty and gratitude.''
Atheism is the ultimate in selfishness and self-worship.
Satan has a fresh crop of recruits for his army of the damned right here.

Christian, while always open for a discussion, as I suspect we won't have many differences anyhow. CRIME = TIME
Mr. Myers will be able to explain himself to 12 of his peers before a Judge when the State of Minnesota vs. Paul Zachcary Myers gets to trial.
splee9e9 3 years ago
splee9e9 3 years ago
Incitement is the Legal Terminology for that.
splee9e9 3 years ago
Although you and others are attempting to have this framed in the court of public opinion as a free speech issue. That is a false framework for it; especially to any and all who choose to disregard the real presence in the Eucharist, and claim that the host is (by their own admission) a piece of real property... with an owner, who has property rights protected by the state.
splee9e9 3 years ago
Those property rights were violated when Mr. Cook misrepresented himself in order to fraudulently obtain the "property". The Catholic Eucharist is offered only to people satisfying very specific qualifications, and accepting very specific conditions for handling.
splee9e9 3 years ago
Most noteworthy, is that each recipient must verbally assent to the conditions of this contract (covenant) when the host is held up before them and described as "Body of Christ". The recipient must speak publicly the word "amen", which is no less than their public, verbal agreement that they understand and accept the contract and it's conditions, and that they will honor it. It is only then that they are given a host.
splee9e9 3 years ago
Unqualified individuals can only acquire this particular type of property through deception and perjury. Once received into the hand of such a perpetrator, the property status changes to "stolen". There are criminal statutes in force in all US states that prohibit misrepresentation, fraud, theft, transport of stolen goods, and destruction of property. What was done in fact breaks several laws.
The secular law of the land applies here as well as it does to any physical location in the US.

chrisman737 3 years ago
Yes, it's THAT kind of hysteria that religion is built on.
ScarranHalfBreed 3 years ago
Well, actually I was referring to a persecution similar to the Marxist-Leninist hysteria in the old Soviet Union -- which was primarily atheist, of course.
chrisman737 3 years ago
Explain to me how a humorous YouTube video campaign is akin to killing all religious people.
ScarranHalfBreed 3 years ago
This is hate speech. Only one who supports the hate speech would find this humorous (similar to the way Nazis treated the Jews). So it is clear where you stand. And this is how persecution starts. Oh, all in good fun, they say. Then they take a little more, and a little more. Then, like in the USSR, we are imprisoned for believing in God, because theism is seen as such a horrible sickness that we need to be removed from society. Would you want to imprison us?
chrisman737 3 years ago
You're the Jew and I'm the Nazi? Very dramatic. Hitler, of course, was the pope of his own little "religion".
Of course we don't want to lock you up or kill you, but then, according to you guys, I'M the one who's going to burn in the fires of Hell for all eternity.
ScarranHalfBreed 3 years ago
I'm very lucky - I live in Britain, a place where the very religious are thought of as slightly silly by the majority, even those who are religious themselves. But in the US, the religious run the country, seemingly priding themselves on THEIR God (not the hundreds of other Gods) dictating their actions.
Everyone can live their lives without believing in magical nonsense. Religion is simply wishful thinking. All you need is a belief in people. And how much faith do you need for that?
ScarranHalfBreed 3 years ago
"But in the US, the religious run the country,.."
Errr...not quite. Those with the most power and influence are secularists. That is one of the reasons so many American despise Bush so much, because he doesn't accept the secularist agenda.
chrisman737 3 years ago
ScarranHafBreed, Thank you for saying you dont want to lock us up or kill us -- you have successfully distanced yourself from the atheists who ran the USSR, and the Maoist atheists who currently run China. chrisman737 3 years ago
"...You have successfully distanced yourself from the atheists who ran the USSR..."
Yeah, shock news: Atheists can be just as deplorable as people who believe in some mystical garbage. It gives me a migraine just thinking about it.

Some atheists and theists can be horrible people because some people are horrible people.
This is why it bothers me when Christians point out the good things that Christians do as if they're the only ones who can do them, or as if it's because of their beliefs that they do them. Most Christians are good people because most people are good people.

Wow, that has got to be the single most useless citation I've ever seen. The link 'provided' isn't on his user page, it isn't on this page, it isn't on his 'flagging campaign' video, and there's no way I'm sifting through all 115 of his videos to find it.

Hooya2 3 years ago
He wasn't a crazy atheist. He was a crazy person who happened to be an atheist. His being an atheist has nothing to do with his actions. Atheism has no teachings, no tenets, no dogmas, and no doctrines. There is no holy book by which to justify any action. Blaming atheism for what that guy did is like blaming mustaches for what Hitler and Stalin did. You have to establish a causal link between the belief and the action before you can blame the action on the belief.

Cafeeine 3 years ago
And just who the hell are you to decide which beliefs are irrational and which arent?
Some superior atheist paragon who knows all?
You trample under foot beliefs and faiths which you yourself are incapable of comprehending, let alone coming to an undrstanding of,and then mock the people who can and do.
That, sir/madame, is called BIGOTRY,no matter if you believe in God or not.
It's ideological racism of the most venomous kind, and you and Myers,Dawkins and the rest are as bad as Hitler ever was
PrinceAntonVoytek 3 years ago
Atheists are obviously free to think what they want. To verbally attack people for their beliefs is hateful. To encourage and participate in the stealing of sacred objects from churches is hateful and, hopefully one day, criminal. Atheists, please respect our beliefs and stop promoting hatred and bigotry. Thank you.
chrisman737 3 years ago
"Atheists are spawns of Satan" Remove that from every preacher's mouth and then come back to me about atheistic hateful speech.
When you talk about Myers and describe the incident as hateful you are either being obtuse, or deliberately mendacious.
Cafeeine 3 years ago
I have never heard anyone say that atheists are spawns of Satan. I have not heard many preachers (protestant??) and I have heard many many priests, and none have sad that. If it is true, it wounds like hate speech. And this, of course, does not automatically cancel out the hate speech and hateful actions of PZ Myers and other militant atheists.
chrisman737 3 years ago
preacher was meant as a generic term for clergy. I have heard it from Greek orthodox (moreso those, due to location), protestants, catholics, evangelicals, and some nondescript firebrand preachers.
Cafeeine 3 years ago
"When you talk about Myers..."
For my part, I forgive you for your part in fostering hatred.
chrisman737 3 years ago
You have declared Myers' action hateful without showing why it is so. When explained otherwise you ignore, evade and inundate me with pleas to 'stop the (imagined) hate'. You want me to acknowldge that expresing my POV in word and in lawful action is inheretly offensive and hateful to you, which is absurd. I offer evidence, you offer emotional pleas. In defense of your transsubstantiated deity you defend death threats. The actual hatred is all a scroll away in black pixels.
Cafeeine 3 years ago
"...established his personal fictional world as a reality,..."
Your prejudice is unrelenting, and so is your ardent defense of Myers who has been attacking theists of all kinds for years. Even when it seems that you have finally gotten the point you dip back down into hatred and prejudice. I have tried to reason with you. And I thought atheists treasured reason? Incredible. I beg you to renounce the hateful actions of Myers and renounce hate from your life.
chrisman737 3 years ago
My prejudice? A prejudice is a preconceived notion, usually used for false notions. Are you telling me you don't believe in a god you have no evidence for? (and no, faith is not evidence) I keep hammering the point to you and you keep coming back with straw men accusations about hatred, almost as if you don't have an actual answer to my arguments. you invent hatred for Myers and defend it on your side. Your continuing hypocrisy is frankly all that keeps me responding. Matt. 7:5 comes to mind.
Cafeeine 3 years ago
All we are asking is that, if you are an atheist, please do not invade our churches, steal our hosts, and desecrate them. If you don't believe, then why go into our churches anyway??? I would never presume to simply march into an atheist's office somewhere and start tearing up books and papers. C'mon, atheists, show some decency and maturity. Stop with the hate crimes.
chrisman737 3 years ago
Why are you doing this? I'm really shocked. You hurt the feelings of faithful Catholics and Muslims. Do you think this is a way to peace in our world? I tell you, it isn't. Do not to your neighbor what you would take ill from him. Stop it NOW!!!!
RoemKathVerteidigung 3 years ago
"The law, unfortunately for you, does not recognise your right to not be offended..."
We are not talking about a right to not be offended. We are talking about a right to celebrate our rites in peace without having atheists invade our churches, steal sacred objects, and desecrate them. That you say we have a "crazy mental illness" is hate speech. A radio host says one nasty comment about blacks and gets fired. Catholics are trampled upon and no one cares. Double standard.
chrisman737 3 years ago
it is a double standard, and a just one.

To receive as a non-believer in order to walk away with the host is stealing.
chrisman737 3 years ago
"The crackers are given to the nonbeliever. Hence it is not stealing." - I agree.
Godlesscod 3 years ago
Atheists are free to dissent and free to disagree. But to advocate the stealing and desecration of objects sacred to certain religions is hateful and ought to be punishable under the law. No question about it. I hope all atheists will try to foster peace and understanding instead of supporting hateful actions.
chrisman737 3 years ago
I don't agree with stealing. I think that's possibly one of the reasons I criticize religion. After all, the amount of money they have stolen from gullible people who are influenced by untestable threats of hell, must be enormous. I also have difficulty respecting a religion that vilifies those who don't believe by comparing them to what they believe to be the epitome of evil - the anti-christ. Before you lecture others on being hateful, perhaps you should look at your scripture.
Godlesscod 3 years ago
We understand that you hold certain things as sacred. You do not seem to understand that we do not, with all that that entails.
Cafeeine 3 years ago
"We understand that you hold certain things as sacred. You do not seem to understand that we do not, with all that that entails."
I do understand. So here is the deal (as I have said before)...if you do not hold the host as sacred, then don't go to our churches. Don't go to Mass. Don't get in line to receive the host. Don't say "Amen." When the priest says, "The Body of Christ." Don't receive the host. It's that simple. At long last, do you get it now???
chrisman737 3 years ago
"Dont'..."
Cafeeine 3 years ago
"I don't do any of these things."
Good for you. Hatred and prejudice smokescreens? I think not. Hatred and prejudice clearly comes through with every word from Myers and every action that he and his army of atheist friends inflict on us and our beliefs. Do you think painting swatztikas on Jewish homes is "worth doing?" Do you think burning a cross on the lawn of a black family is "worth doing?" I urge you to change your thinking on this and embrace tolerance instead of hate.
chrisman737 3 years ago
This is rich! That you place crackers on equal ground as human lives saddens me. Here I am talking about smokescreens, and you go and bring up swastikas and burning crosses (some of the finest examples of bigotry by the religious) in comparison with manhandling baked goods in protest against an act of violence by the religious. Spin, spin, spin your straw men, they no longer work. I urge you to look at the hate inherent in your own religion and change it for the better.
Cafeeine 3 years ago
"...lives saddens me."
Just as your defense of host desecration is more than just "manhandling baked goods." Now, at long last, do you finally understand???
chrisman737 3 years ago
And that you have the gall to say that the actions you so ardently defend are "worth doing" prompted me to ask you if other hateful actions were "worth doing." Apparently you see very well the hatred in others (for example, in those who are racist and/or anti-Semitic) but you fail to see the same tendency in yourself. I will ask you again to please do not invade our churches and steal sacred objects AND please do not defend people who do such things.
chrisman737 3 years ago
And, of course, our concern as religious is quite profound, since the history of atheists persecuting, imprisoning and killing theists is quite bloody indeed. This is what happens when atheists set the tone for a society. Please convince me that I am wrong. Please convince me that you are reasonable. Please do so by giving up your hate and your defense of those who do hateful actions.
chrisman737 3 years ago
Please stop the propaganda chris, you are truly not doing your side any favors. The facts are that Cook, a catholic took his eucharist with him, wrongly by religious terms but not illegal. He was 1st assaulted, and then campaigned against by the CL for a "hate crime". Myers heard about it and made his initial proclamation in protest of this outrageous behavior, and having been sent the thing did the deed. If there is any hate it is towards the misanthropic behavior shown by catholics.
Cafeeine 3 years ago
"Please stop the propaganda chris..."
These are facts.
chrisman737 3 years ago
And I suppose Donohue's efforts against Cook and Myers, as well as the menacing letters and death threats they received are figments of the imagination, are they?
And "full scale attack on catholics"?? Really Chris? A bunch of youtubers make videos and its a 'full scale attack'? No wonder you can't get it that eucharist abuse has no relation to swastikas and burning crosses. You really enjoy the drama don't you?
Cafeeine 3 years ago
Repeating your persecution fantasy will not make it any more tangible. Agan, you confuse active dissent with hatred. If you are attacked, bullied, threatened out of a job, out of your livelihood, or about your life, I'll be on your side, whether the culprit is atheist or theist. Thing is, the only people in that position are Myers and Cook. What Myers did was akin to destroying a Star Wars DVD in front of rabid SW fans. Not even, in his own front lawn. Not in hate, but in protest.
Cafeeine 3 years ago
"Repeating your persecution fantasy..." And once again, you fail to understand. Someone who paints a swastika on the door of a Jewish family is not actively "attacking" the person directly or "threatening" them "out of a job" or "out of their livelihood." (your words). And so, I invite you to THINK once again...would you support the painting of swastikas on the doors of Jewish families? When will you understand that, yes, Catholics ARE being attacked (and Muslims, too).
chrisman737 3 years ago
I do understand, I also disagree that your examples have anything to do with this situation. Tryin g to draw a parallel does not mean there is one there.
Cafeeine 3 years ago
"What Myers did was akin to destroying a Star Wars DVD in front of rabid SW fans..."
A sentence which clearly indicates, once again, that you have little or no understanding of the situation. Is burning a cross on the lawn of a black man's house equal to making a star wars fan angry? Think, Caffeine, why did Myers do this? To make a star wars fan all upset? Oh really? Is that why Richard Dawkins wrote an entire book attacking theists? Think, Caffeine, think.
chrisman737 3 years ago
I understand chris, I just don't buy into your delusion that atheists are hateful bigots. You keep talking about swastikas and burning crosses while those are actual instances of bigotry.
Try to realize that to an atheist, you are essentially an SW fan that has established his personal fictional world as a reality, and then is outraged when I throw a SW poster in the trash. You are imagining ulterior motives because you can't handle that people consider your beliefs fairy tales.
Cafeeine 3 years ago
"I just don't buy into your delusion that atheists are hateful bigots..."
Then you do not understand or refuse to understand. And, obviously, I do not believe that all atheists who ever lived and ever will live are bigots. But many atheists are bigots. And those who attack others merely because they believe in God are being hateful towards others.
chrisman737 3 years ago
Obviously some atheists are bigots. But the actions that you describe as bigoted and hateful are simply not so. You refuse to see the real situation here, the reasons behind people's actions. You view Donohue's attacks as justified self-defense and Myers' actions as unprovoked, out-of-the-blue knee-jerks, and since you refuse to acknowledge the provocation, you attribute them to hate.
Cafeeine 3 years ago
"But the actions that you describe as bigoted and hateful are simply not so."
A neo-Nazi who was interviewed said, "Look, we don't want to hate anybody. All we want to do is get people to realize that the blacks are dangerous and we need to preserve our white race." You say, "oh, we don't hate anybody. We just steal sacred objects from churches and desecrate them and ask others to do so because we are simply protesting the delusional beliefs of theists." Sound a little similar. Think.
chrisman737 3 years ago
Not really, not to each other and not to reality. The nazi wishes to impose his beliefs on others, opposing mixed relations and resorting to violence. Myers did nothing of the sort. Furthermore, you forget that the protest was not against your beliefs, but against your *actions* against Cook and Myers. You keep getting your facts wrong.
Cafeeine 3 years ago
"...to an atheist, you are essentially an SW fan"
And you are now still blind to your own prejudice. Now think very very hard. Do you think that maybe, just maybe, calling a person a fan of some science fantasy because they believe in God might be insulting? And do you think that maybe people before you said such things as this (people like Marx, Lenin, and Stalin, as well as Napoleon)? And do you know history and what these people did to Catholics and Christians? Do you not see???
chrisman737 3 years ago
It is not a prejudice when it is factual. You believe in a supernatural creator, right? I consider this creator human fiction. I would consider it an insult to lie to you and let you believe I don't consider your beliefs ridiculous.
As you the "ancestral sins" argument, do I really have to enumerate all the atrocities done by people who thought they had God's ear and that God whispered in theirs?
Cafeeine 3 years ago
"It is not a prejudice when it is factual."
Just what the Nazis said: "it is a fact that Jews are an inferior race and really sub-human. It can be established by science." Fast forward to now: "It is a fact that there is no God, therefore it is a fact that all those who believe in God are delusional. Thus we have a right to steal their sacred objects and desecrate them because it is a fact that we are more reasonable than they are." Do you know how silly you sound?
chrisman737 3 years ago
"I'm not guilty" is a phrase said by many guilty men. By your rationale, anyone who makes the claim can be considered guilty therefore, without any attempt at finding the truth. Thats the kind of argument your post conveys and that in fact sounds silly.
Cafeeine 3 years ago
"I consider this creator human fiction..."
It is a fact that you CONSIDER this creator to be fictitious. It is YOUR OPINION (not fact)that theists are nothing more than SW fans. It is YOUR OPINION (not fact) that religious people are delusional. It is YOUR OPINION (not fact) that the stealing of sacred objects from churches is defensible.
chrisman737 3 years ago
So in your opinion, expressing MY opinion of your opinion is hateful? Is your opinion above criticism? Are your actions based on your opinions above reproach? When your indefensible opinions are the cause of real world harm, we should stay silent because you are offended? You claim this to be so and still you are not the aggressor here?
Cafeeine 3 years ago
"So in your opinion, expressing MY opinion of your opinion is hateful?"
You support hate when you support hateful actions against those who believe in God.
chrisman737 3 years ago
The irony in that statement is stupefying, as the only people engaged in hateful actions against living beings in this event are Catholics. You are advocating hate, while shouting down your victims to 'stop being hateful'!
Cafeeine 3 years ago
"The irony in that statement is stupefying, as the only people engaged in hateful actions against living beings in this event are Catholics."
You might want to refer to the video above (click the little play button) to find out how wrong you are.
chrisman737 3 years ago
And please don't respond..."oh, hosts aren't living beings." Even if you believe this to be the case, the action is still designed to foster hatred against living breathing human beings.
chrisman737 3 years ago
No it isn't. It was proposed as an act of protest, and culminated as both that and a claim that 'nothing is sacred'. How does manhandling a cracker foster hatred against living human beings? Tell me from the rationale Myers expounded in his post, how does that lead to hatred? And if you offer no analogies to Stalinists or Nazis, I won't compare Donohue to the Inquisition.
Cafeeine 3 years ago
"living beings" chris. The closest thing to life in that video was the remains of the banana.
Cafeeine 3 years ago
I have a good case that the being described in the bible is the product of fallible human minds that has not been refuted to my satisfaction. Whether a creator exists is an open question, with scant evidence for and no positive way to falsify. Your god concept however is as likely as the FSM, so if you want me to stop talking about it, either preset proof or, like Donohue, try to bully me into silence, which speaks volumes for the evidence he has to offer.
Cafeeine 3 years ago
"...your beliefs fairy tales."
I know people believe that our beliefs are fairy tales. And there are people who believe that Hitler was "misunderstood" and that Israel should be wiped off the map. There are people who believe that blacks and whites must always live separately. Some people just write about these things. But others turn their beliefs into hateful actions, like painting swastikas, stealing sacred objects and desecrating them, burning crosses, and so on.
chrisman737 3 years ago
