  • Wow, Andy Bey is smoking. I only know him from the last 10 years, and this is such a wonderful insight into his more aggressive self. Thanks.

  • T he name of the album is the "The United States of Mind", by Horace Silver, released in 1971.

  • Did this band record an album? Under who's name? What's it called?

  • Who's in this band please?

  • think about these things. for your own life.

    Fazz Black

  • back at this time (circa 1972) jazz like this used to come on uhf channels all the time it seemed,I took it for granted,it seems precious now cause you don't see jazz on tv too much anymore.I vote for more jazz on tv.

  • Oh Horace, Amazing as always, and Mr. Bey's

vocals, so natural like your playing, what a

    combination!

  • I saw Andy Bey a couple days ago!

  • A rare chance to see and hear the amazing Andy Bey during this period.

  • The singer is the great Andy Bey - beautiful!!

  • Who's singer?

  • THANK YOU for posting this. This period of Horace Silver is criminally slept on, by me as well. It seems like Bobby Hutcherson (sometimes with Harold Land) was in a similar bag in this time period. This music is great. Any guesses or knows who the musicians are?

(Also: No Lee Morgan evident in this clip unfortunately, if he is included.)
