  • I think this version is much better that the one on the CD, what a shame...

  • @Mathiube Totally agree!

  • @Mathiube , wouldn't it be nice if Black Dub released a CD of these studio sessions?

  • I just found out about this group through NPR's listen first program..they're great !

  • Freakin awsome!! Lanois is a Master...

  • Outstanding!!

  • Hmm not what I was expecting!!! Good Stuff

I wonder what "Tenor Saw" would think about this rendition

  • I can't wait for november 2nd, when this album gets released :)

  • I heard this @ Nuit Blanche Toronto last night :P

  • @canuckete The Nuit Blanche version was much better! Hopefully he releases it. Much more indie/alt rock than this version.

  • amazing!

  • Blazing stuff! Love the video footage!

  • I'm familiar with some of Dan Lanois' older music but never knew about Black Dub till today (hey, not bad) when I heard Dan & Neil Young together interviewed on CBC Radio's "Q" show. Neil said it was seeing & being impressed by Dan's Black Dub films that made him call up Dan about collaborating on Neil's new "Le Noise" album, & filming Neil's live performances used on the album.

  • heard trixie on public radio last nite,,,gosh..SHES WHITE

  • INSPIRATIONAL !!!!!!! This is the best, most hartfelt music i've heard in YEARS !!!!

  • What a song!!!

  • unamaza

  • guys you rock!

  • Wow this is the best number I have heard from Black Dub so far, damm.

  • Man the Snare sound is just too awsome!

  • What setup is Brian using here? vintage slingerland or ludwig perhaps? Soungs Unbelievable!

  • this track rocks

  • vintage D12 on the kick, cool

  • GREAT COVER!!

    RESPECT TENOR SAW !!!

  • Just caught the album cover for "The Beauty of Wynona" on the wall this time around. What a legacy this guy has left to the music industry. And he ain't even close to bein' done yet. Love all Lanois!

  • Im sitting here listening to Magnolia by JJ Cale and I found myself thinking, I wonder if Lanois could make JJ Cales Magnolia, magnificent, and then betting that he can, because Lord knows Im a vetting man. LOL I love that line. Should you take my advice Dan, and why not, have I ever steered you wrong, and Rent Hammond Castle, check-out the White House, thats where I stayed, in Magnolia. I think Black Dub could do Magnolia justice, and Crazy Mamma too, and Ill tell you why.

  • I think Black Dub could do Magnolia justice, and Crazy Mamma too, and heres why. Cause all you need do, is to choose one riff, and keep returning to it. Other than that, youre on your own. LOL I like that line too. Life need not be complicated.

  • this is awesome.

check out the original: Tenor Saw - Ring The Alarm. so different!

  • This song is too good for words, too good to be true, so what else is new? Bring me your love - a mother's son is crying - oh, oh, yeah - Leave me alone - another son is dying... Tommy D Professor of Smozology

  • um.. check out the original: Tenor Saw - Ring The Alarm

    and look up the lyrics!

still awesome though. one of the best things i've heard.

  • When is this due out? I thirst...

  • i wanna a drum like that!

great music, her voice reminds me joss stone, but i may be stone(d).

  • Does anyone else think that this sounds a little like The Doors intro to LA Women??

  • I CAN"T FRIKIN WAIT !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That drum track gave me chills! Sounded like a freight train with Lanois providing the horns. This combo wil be another solid gem in the treasure chest that is Daniel Lanois. He is the consummate songwriter, singer, musician, producer, who elevates music to such heights, very few others reach

  • Ring the alarm in deed! This was fantastic Daniel!! What a groove...

  • This is bloody GREAT!!!

  • Fu-Schnickens!?

  • YESS! Good call

  • Vinyl and live, this will be fantastic!

  • this is the best music i have heard in years. very heartfelt and honest. they are all excellent players and musicians. i am very much looking forward to this cd when it comes out. this is reminds me of bands like Can, Gong, Faust but more real and honest. Trixie Whitley's voice is amazing, Brian's drums incredible, Daryl's bass a joy to listen to and Daniel's atmospheric guitar provides a nice layer and background to the music.

  • Does anyone know if these black dub sessions will come out on cd??

  • Comment removed

  • spring 2010

  • Yes, the cd should come out soon

  • @Chrisser90 i cant give you a solid answer on that, BUT all i can say, is there are Microphones all throughout that room,...'recording' would be the only purpose.

i hope a CD will soon be available

  • that is one monster kick

  • He was jamming a predecessor to this last fall on tour. It was an instrumental jam, and a fantastic one with He and Nistor only.

  • what kind of les paul does daniel lanois play here? or is it another guitar?

  • Hard to tell because of re-issues, but it's probably an older one. It's definitely got P-90s and a Bigsby trem, though.

  • I believe it's a '53 Les Paul Goldtop w/ a Bigsby.

  • what do the neighbors think?

  • @earbender

Maybe they think WOW what a great music or they don't like it! Who knows???

But for me, i like it very much.

  • Trippy, This song is a nice change from the other ones yet remains in the style, good variety! Great Job Daniel, ya got a good thing going!

  • saw him play this at the troubadour in l.a, 'bout wet myself...

  • Is het Daniel of Trixie die het lied schreef? :) Inderdaad, zolang er leven is, is er geluid, is er muziek. Heel essentiele songtekst. Bedankt, als altijd heel deugddoende energie! Liefs met een kliedertje gele verf, C.
