  • Why do they keep getting away from this basic concept?

This is the way to build an affordable performance car!

  • Yes...the "6 pack" is three 2-barrel carbeurators mounted on the engine.

  • @diecastdeluxe Sometimes, but if I had the money, I'd buy one and that would be my only car like the rest of us...

  • sweet!!

  • I like this!! Real stealth looking...

  • @godsword4u1 the black paint really does give it and aggressive/ malicious look to it. "badass" if you will :P

  • 426 hemi!!! beautiful car also

  • 426 hemi!!!

  • six banger

  • awesome car, love the ol Mopars

  • the 440 with a 4brl wasn't offered until 1970 with the road runner. The only way you could get a 440 in a road runner in 1969 was half way through the year and was the special R12, trac pack and 3 two barrel carbs.

  • @bigtorquehemi It was the M-Code / A12 not a R12

  • @ljdgm oops...

  • @bigtorquehemi Actually the only way to get a 440 4 brl in ANY roadrunner was the Superbird in 1970...There was no way to get a Roadrunner in U-code or L-code (the single 4 brl 440) It was only available as a 6 brl...To get a single 4 you had to get the GTX, Coronet R/T, or Charger R/T

  • @carguy8022 You could get a 440 4bbl in 1970 in a road runner.

    383 V8 335 hp

    426 Hemi V8 425 hp

    440 V8 375 hp

    440+6 V8 390 hp

  • @bigtorquehemi My modern 345 Hemi makes 375 horse's power

  • actually the tests were done t lower rpms i believe to fool insurance companies in to thinking the Hemi especially was a much lower horsepowered engine then it really was or they wouldnt insure the cars

  • Mopar or no car

  • I love this car, the sound of its V8 is music.

  • they did NOT add a 440 4bbl to the road runner lineup until `71. in `69 and `70 you could get a 383, 440+6, or the 426 HEMI. The GTX did come with a 440 4bbl standard with the optional 426 HEMI.

  • Many of these cars were underated in the factory recorded 1/4 times because the tests were done with factory street tires. Even with slicks back then the rubber compound still could not compare with the grip that todays tires have.

  • in my 20s i had 2 with 3x2 power a 70 Runner 'vert & a 70 Charger RT. Both were complete pain in the asses to keep running correctly, plugs would only last about 2 weeks & then foul. i remember winning street races & when the loser would ride away i would pull in behind a garage, get out the hammer & bang those shitty 4-speed link rods straight to go home. i prefer to keep my $ & let sombody else sidestep the clutch.

  • how much at auction?

  • It looks like the devil's car...

  • That car looks like it's up to no good.

  • My brother had a 70 chevelle 454 4 speed, to me that was the fastest car on the road at the time. On a warm spring night in 1979 an orange road runner with a full black hood and a scoop rolled up next to us at the local cruze strip. When we pulled off the light i could hear it was a four speed. Next light on green wide ovals were fighting for traction, i could hear the driver crack off full throttle up shifts gets rubber in 3rd. and next thing you know we were staring at his tail lights.

    MOPAR!

  • @2bad440 ..You weren't the first Chivvie guy to get his ass kicked by a 440..and dam sure not the last...we ran High Riser Fords against the 426 Hemis in the sixties and 70's...whenever you staged with another Ford you better be on your game..but when it was a Hemi Mopar...you were in for the fight of your life..those MOPARS WOULD RUN!!!...HOLY CRAP....THEY STILL BUILT A BADASS RIG...

  • just for the record ,Plymouth never made a SIX_PAC anything , those were Dodges, Plymouth were Six-Barrels.Iknow I owned a new one and sold a bunch of them.

  • Very nice and rare Roadrunner, They were A12 on the option sheet and only 1,432 ever saw the light of day, 615 2dr coupe and 817 hardtops. 440 c.i. 6-bbl V-8 3x2V Carburetors C.R.10.5:1

    Horsepower 390@4700

Torque 490@3200 and for the record, the Roadrunner except for the 440+6, was never offred with the 375hp 440 4v carb. That was the exclusive engine for the GTX, as well as the 426 HEMI. A lesson they forgot in marketing todays cars.

  • Those tires and engine are sick! Hell, the whole car is! lol

  • "a puresst muscle machine. a no frills straight line street cleaner" these aren't words, this is a PLYMOUTH motto! Hey Chrysler, I know how you can pull yourself out of your rutt, reintroduce THIS piece of AMERICANA MUSCLE!!

  • @HongKongFooy1 Chrysler was planning to revive the Road Runner

using the 300 as a platform.I guess they could'nt drum up the support

and the economy is'nt helping either.

  • @AnnaAnnaYes NICE, just hope they weren't planning on bringing it out like the re-introduced the Charger!if so, sure glad it never happend, I can't picture a 4-door RoadRunner. Well I guess the PLYMOUTH fans as myself have nothing to worry about these days...LOL

  • @HongKongFooy1 I belive it was going to be a 2-door, i forgot

the magazine in which i saw the artist's concept drawing, mabye

you can find it on the web somewhere,if you do, send me a message

    Take Care!!

  • @AnnaAnnaYes I think they should make a new frame for the challenger once tyhey start making a lot of money again and then add cars like a dart or demon, roadrunner or superbee.

  • @TheDodgeChallenger I hope they don't abandon the idea alltogether either

  • I once owned a '68' GTX, it was awesome!

  • dam thats a bad ass car

  • cool

  • This thing is so Tuff.....

  • Very nice

  • ur a turd i wanted to hear it

  • Sure, it was cheap then... what about now? I can't touch one, I know that.

  • I want that car (T_T)

  • Im a diesel guy, but god the classic American Muscle cars are AWESOME!!!

  • very nice

  • fantastic..very tough looking production car...

  • I have one of those....mine has bucket seats!

  • FLOOR CARPETING!!

  • Best car ever!

  • six pack was just a nickname for the 6 barrels on the intake manifold

  • Nicely done video, and than you for knowing that Plymouth called the three two bbl option "6 Barrel" NOT "Six Pack". No mention of this option actually being referred to as a 1969 1/2, as it came out after the 1969 models had been introduced.

  • Plymouth for 69, did not put a 440 single 4 barrel in their roadrunners.

  • My baby

  • YES there was THREE engine options for the Roadrunner in 1969. Better go get a Mopar Production book and read up on it!

  • The roadrunner for '68, '69, and '70 did not get the 440 4 BBL option. The '68 had two engine choices, the 383 4 bbl or the Hemi. '69and '70 had three choices, 383 4 bbl, 440 6 bbl and the Hemi. If you wanted the 440 4 bbl in '69 or '70 you had to order the GTX.

  • There was three not engines available on the 69 plymouth Roadrunner.

    1. 335 hp 383 standard roadrunner/superbee engine. only the GTX came with the 440 4 barrel engine.

    2. 390 440 6 barrel. was a mid year option from june till october.

    3. 425 hp 426 hemi. cost to much for most and was hard to tune and keep tuned. nice m code roadrunner.

  • @andybuzz2u --------> you mean three, not, "not three" don't you?

  • that car is IT!!!!

  • I love this one...

  • A12 has an Awesome stance!

  • Badass.

  • cool!
