  • Goku?

  • A very inspiring visual effect! If they could make this kind of visuals in the next Superman while including an inspiring plot that could overpower the Batman trilogy and show what a superpower and shining Knight is, that would be awesome! Though, I don't know why I am trying to insult Batman which is my favorite heroe and movie, equally to Superman.

  • video is not buffering

  • thumbs up if you too kill depression with the sun like that

  • I think Bryan Singer was doing a very bold thing with Returns, he was trying to kinda pass on the torch, he was trying to move Superman on to this new era, showing him in a world that has changed alot. Look at Louis, how shes started a family, I think he left things for others to build on, its just ashame they didnt. Returns is a very underrated Superman film. I think Reeves wud have been proud of this movie, maybe even more than the Smallville series. Im not a fanboy, just my opinion lol.

  • @RaikenXion its also a shame that the sequal Superman: The Man of Steel was unproduced. i read that it was gona sumhow dealt with the kryptonite landmass that he picks up and pushes out of the earths atmosphere and into space. who knows what other stuff Singer had in mind for the film :(

  • @13LuciusArchangel Yes that wud hav been really interesting, I also luvd the Idea of him having a son, every1 goes on bout Singer was stuck in the past, but he was moving forward right there, going in a new direction. I think we just hav to go through this era right now and let this generation hav thier "Superman" cus every1 wants Realism in everything now today. But years ahead I think Returns will grow on people and many will hav a fondness of it, like Shawshank Redemption.

  • @RaikenXion Yeah exactly. I was really looking forward on what his son was gona play a role as in the sequal if anything. But i understand y ppl want realism, i guess cuz it helps our reality connect a lil more with it. i used 2 b all over the old batman movies but then as fictional as i realized they were wen i got older, i kinda drifted from them, but when Nolan showed the realistic stuff, i got bak into them, so NOW im looking forward to Man of steel :D

i never heard of that movie

  • @13LuciusArchangel Yes we're much more cynical and realistic about everything today. I admit I do prefer realism in many films now, like with James Bond where hes more tough, gritty and actually gets hurt now, trouble is trying to b too tough theres the risk of straying too far away from the essence of that character. I liked Daniel Craig in CR, but I think he was trying too hard to b gritty in QofS and came across as more of a thug than a Spy. Nolans Batman I really like.

  • @13LuciusArchangel I think with Superheros bieng more realistic and is good, these recent Batman films r awesome, and they still keep that essence of the character. I think Batman u can really b very realistic, cus in essence he doesnt actually hav no Superhuman powers, and he is a very complex character. Now that they're trying to b more "realistic" and take the same approach with Superman, Im optimistic about it, so I am also looking forward to Man of Steel.

  • @13LuciusArchangel Its ok going more darker and grittier with Superman, even the comics hav done this, but as long as they keep the essence of Superman in-tact. No matter how much they change and modernize this new Superman, "Man of Steel" movie, I think shud still hav the same music from the classic films. It wont b the same if they change the theme music.

  • @RaikenXion o i know & thats what i like, when hero movies hav a darker & serious tone, ppl take it more seriously rather then b 2 humorous. & yeah i was thinking the same of having the same theme but who knows, theres this guy that made a fan made teaser for the new 1 & i swear 2 god if he hadnt put fan made, i would of thought its real, he used a different theme & not the original but it literelly works! look it up, its under "Man of Steel (Teaser Trailer)" by ITHoTMKProductions

  • @13LuciusArchangel I'll try it and see what I think, but hav to say the original music is just class, its wot we all recognize as "Superman" now comics, movies games of him everything. I understand modernizing, changing with the times and all that, but do we really need to always change absolutely everything wen we do this??

  • @RaikenXion alright. yeah i know, im hoping they keep it but then again nolan and goyer said that the new 1 will have not have any relations to the previous films. but well see

  • Superman's #1 solution to every problem: throw it out in space! lol

  • Cool! I thought that scene with the sun was significant.

Speaking of the sun, here's an outstanding video on solar mythology titled, Zeitgeist part 1 watch?v=oZgT1SRcrKE

  • This is a very rejuvenating scene! Wish I could just fly like that!

  • How could he still do all that when he still had a bit of kryptonite in him from lex

  • @bigwhopper6501 power of the sun! YELLOW SUN GIVES HIM HIS POWERS. A little Kryptonite, no problem!

  • Ohh soak in those sun rays. Ok, that's enough. Hey, hey! Stop enough I said! Wait!

ohhh..well now you have skin cancer. Enjoy.

  • Bizzaro should have come out of a worm whole and knocked Superman down to Earth. The End. Next Movie? Superman vs. Bizzaro!

  • Tom Wellington ruined Superman. The kid didn't even want to do it, and turned the role down several times.

Brandon Routh on the other hand--- Mm, mm, mmmmm.

  • my favorite scene from the movie...and after when he lifts the island...boo yah!!

  • Goku doesnt have the saiyan balls to do that.

  • Haha chill dude life's to short to be angry @Replicante777

  • @TYLER APE I SAW YOUR MOM IN YOU PORN FIND HER LIKE: BIG BLACK FAT BITCH TAKE IN THE ASS SEVERAL TIMES PLEASE DONT SEE GLEE ANYMORE AND SEE YOUR MOM IN ACTION, LOL!!!!

  • You know, Brandon Routh was a great Superman in the finest Christopher Reeve tradtion--he had that same warmth. I think Warner Brothers really screwed Routh, so while I don't have anything against Henry Cavill, I won't be watching the new movie.

  • best scene of the film

  • man of steel will be better

  • Comment removed

  • @ultimatecomic69 He doesn't even wear the red undies. Man of Steel's just going to be The Amazing Spiderman of Spiderman, and any Marvel fan would not watch The Amazing Spiderman.

  • @geekette99 What's your problem with ASM??

  • @Joecbg100 It's a remake of a recent remake.

    I just don't understand.

  • @geekette99 Forget it.

  • "Yeaaaah so I guess I'll go tunnel into the surface of the Earth for a while. Why what are you doin' this weekend?"

  • SO FUCKING GAY MY GOD WHY THEY MAKE THIS TO THE MAN OF STEEL? THIS MOVIE ITS MORE LIKE "SUPERGAY THE MAN OF GLEE" OR SUPERMAN RETURNS(IN A SISSY WAY)SUCKS X-b

  • @replicante777 Shut your ignorant ass up.

  • @tylerap OH NO I GUESS I BROKE YOUR LITTLE PUSSY HEARTH YOU FUCKING QUEER SO TRY THIS SIT ON YOUR FATHERS DICK UNTIL HE COMES INSIDE YOUR GAPED HOLE WHILE YOU SEE GLEE AND SUCK YOUR BROTHER DICK YOU MOTHERFUCKER YOUR WHORE MOTHER IS THE IGNORANT ASS UP CAUSE SHE FUCKS WITH DRUNKS AND LET THEM COME IN HER VIH PUSSY THATS WHY YOU BORN YOU LITTLE SISSY.

  • Its called "Power of the sun" by john ottman :) your welcome

  • what is the sound track called

  • my god, the quality's so low at 0:37 Superman flies/dives so fast you can't even see him - only the water splashing... EPIC

  • I love it when he hists the sunlight, gets charged, then goes on an ass kicking bender with that determined look in his eyes. These scenes make little boys want to be heroes for the rest of their lives.

  • @sucktheSAUSAGE that's why the superheroes are here for btw i don't anyone wud wana go against superman lol

  • I created the visual that inspired this scene!

  • Chuck noris fly kicked superman out of the clouds and into the volcano at 300,000 miles per hour

  • Dude did you not see watchmen? The world wouldnt nessarly be better. Just more complex than it really is now.

  • nice!

  • The world would be so much Better if superheroes existed

  • @MrVideogameaholic but then villains would also exist, but it would still be cool

  • Indeed. That is one of the reasons Jor-El send young Kal-El to Earth. Under a yellow sun, all Kryptonians exhibit these powers. It is kind of hokey that Superman flies up to the sun and gets "recharged" in seconds, but it is a superhero movie, so no reason to look too far into it. And if you want to, you could probably use the same reasoning that was used to bring him back from the dead in the comics. His body had soaked up so much solar energy over the years, and it just needs a "kick start."

  • why fly into the Sun?

  • @ARC1313 most versions of Superman get their power from earth's sun and absorbing more sunlight with closer contact makes him stronger

  • @ImmaKenpachi thank you

  • wow :p Supermans batteries only need 20 seconds to reload! ;)

  • @GemanAussie100 but the k shard in his back keeps him from getting that BIG K rock with just his finger!

  • without context, this video looks like Superman is committing suicide by traveling directly to the core of the Earth

  • @JonRoyalty Yeah especially cos superman cant die and all xD

  • @JonRoyalty, Brandon Routh in "Superman Returns" was infinitely invulnerable to the Earth's core heat just like Christopher Reeve was in "Superman:The Movie" when he went into the Earth to stop those dangerous Earthquake disastors. Brandon Routh's job was to prevent almost the entire North American continent from being destroyed by Lex Luthor's plot to create a new dark Kryptonian continent in the Atlantic Ocean.

  • Id love to be able to do that but id freeze to death not forgettimg the radiation part :(

  • I hoped in the cinema that when he recharged in the sun that his suit would brighten up and be more like the superman suit we all know.

  • @richardmoores, I would imagine Superman's famous suit would glisten with the Sun's bright solar energy. Superman is a human solar battery that can recharge and produce infinite amounts of power. He is in some cases similar to Hulk who can reproduce infinite amounts of gamma radiation from his accidental exposure when he was Dr. Robert B. Banner. Hulk is like Superman in the ground Hulk can run up to 300 MPH because of the Gamma Radiations exposure that gives Banner amazing abts.

  • 0:29 is so damn beautiful epic, I love this scene.

  • @gigan997, This is my favorite scene in Bryan Singer's EPIC!!! blockbuster. The scene with Superman flying directly in front of the sun is just fall in love imagination. When you see Superman doing what he does you want to have hope, heart, and heroism like "The Man Of Steel". I can't wait to see actor, Henry Cavill play his best as the new Superman star. I love his costume and Brandon Routh's was nice too a little futuristic along with Christian Bale's Batman costume.

  • So, he goes from the heavens to the underworld?

  • 0:29

    Jesus?

  • I wish I could fly

  • @JonRoyalty play dc universe.

Flying there is like man I'm fucking AWESOME.

  • i wish I could fly

  • Christopher Reeve = Epic..... nuff said

  • i dont remember this part

  • This is one of the most amazing scenes I have ever seen

  • chuck norris like this thts why theres 0 dislikes

  • Brandon Routh did a brilliant job. can't see why he wont be in a man of steel he did nothin wrong. altough i'd love to see reeves superman with todays graphics

  • Now thats what I call a torpeado.

  • @ amperro. Superman is a living solar storage battery. He doesnt need to be in the direct line of sight to the sun, moon w/ reflected sunlight etc. As long as he uses less than he has stored. He's fine. Its in instances where he has to use more energy at a faster rate than he can replenish that he has run into issues.

  • ONE OF THE BEST SUPERMAN SCENES OF ALL TIME!!! MAKES ME FEEL GREAT!!!

  • Gods music..honestly :D

  • @dadu925 Agreed

  • Looooove this bit! :D

  • @PhantomStella Me too!!! :)

  • Does this mean that Superman loses his power the further away he gets from the yellow sun? I don't mean he gets near a red sun, I mean he gets away from any sun.

  • @amperro i don't think that applies seeing as his powers are all in tact at night time due to the reflection of the suns rays off the moon :)

  • @amperro he only gets his powers from the yellow sun

  • so what the hell is he doing???

  • @diddymuck He gets his power from the Sun.

  • @heavymetaldeath4life watch?v=mNAx7yIjSRg

SELLING SUPERMAN RETURNS MOVIE COSTUME !!!

  • One of my favourite Superman moments.

  • can't stop coming back to this video!!

  • very supermanesque

  • someone explain what the sun does to him

  • @MyTattooedBowlsack It is his source of power. He is solar powered. The sun increases his strength to near limitless levels. Plus it heals him if he is injured by Kryptonite

  • @DougMcHead when Superman qoes into the sun his strenqth is limitless . all for the exceptio of Silver aqe Superman who's power was limitless alreadyy .

  • he just get some vitamin D haha

  • TOM WELLLLINGGGGGGGGGG!!!!

  • how is this to the sun?..it looked like he penetrated through the earth towards the core or something

  • @jualkyn He flew near the sky in the beginning to get energy from the sun.

  • WHEEOOW...looks like hes know what he is doing...

  • honestly, i liked the film but i still find the parts with Lex (kevin spacey) annoying and rather irritating. Lex sounded crazy to me more than malevolent !

  • I'm not sure why a lot of people didn't like this movie. It's pretty damn good.

  • got the goosebumps watching this in the cinema lex is gonna get it lol

  • i agree best part of the film

  • The power of the Yellow Sun.

  • I loved this bit , shame about rest of the movie

  • no doubt in my mind that faint sound like crasssh is the sonic boom of him going faster than the speed of sound

  • This movie could have been real good if it was an actual reboot starting off a brand new series just like 'Batman Begins" had with Batman- except that it did not need to completely retell the origin story. I always thought they could have covered that in just 10 minutes with a narration explaining things and then started it off when Clark Kent arrived in Metropolis after leaving home in Smallville. He could have become Superman for the first time within the first 30 minutes and gone from there.

  • this movie sucked. another singer master piece. wouldve been funny if he flew into a mountain and got knocked back and out.

  • what?? did he just kill himself?

  • @the5DGX

Nah, he went under the earth to lift Lex's Kryptonite island into space.

  • @rehzon oh! thanks :)

  • @the5DGX

    :)

  • @the5DGX

Type in: Superman Returns: Mountain scene

  • @rehzon yup, ive seen that scene, thanks :D

  • Search 'Jor els Wisdom' on iTunes for the Superman Soundboard App. Featuring Marlon Brando!!

  • they really like the atmospheric re entry in this movie, lol

  • I loved this underrated film and I have to say this has the most convincing flying I have ever seen - it looks so effortless/real.

  • @iloveicarly84 yea i dont know why it was underrated smh I actually loved it it was more an emotional side of the movie like understanding superman. I think some people wanted all that gory fighting already i mean he just got back smh cut him a break lol

  • @asperlando I wanted little action myself and the movie was still weak. Here are two major points:

    1. Clark is gone for 5 years, and Superman is gone for 5 years. They suddenly both return. At this point, Lois and everyone else are really stupid if they don't see the connection.

    2. This was created as a sequel to the second film. So having Lex try what is basically another huge real estate scam 2 movies after Superman: the movie felt like recycled plot.

These two things hurt the story.

  • @SweetZombiJesus

And no opponents he could punch it out with.

  • RECHARGE

  • i love this song, even though it's so short, what is it??

  • superman is a battery he needs the earths yellow sun to be strong. hahaha

  • @lubricus94 : Little Secrets/Power Of The Sun

  • Does anyone knows the name of the song?

  • At 0:38, that dive defines the phrase "faster than a speeding bullet."

  • @AMNlinkinparkfan115 Seriously, even on the big screen, I could barely see him dive!

  • very peacful

  • I wish i could find a good quality image of this on Google..

  • lol at 0:28 mother earth gives birth

  • I LOVE this scene!! <3

  • Great scene of full of symbolism. Though the movie could have been better, it is still underrated.

  • @tiberiius I agree

  • frank miller did it better

  • I wish they would make a movie called "Birdman". This seems like something he would do.

  • Daaaaaaaayumn!

  • I wanna see Doomsday!!!

  • @ionthegravity i hope the new superman in 2012 does well so maybe the sequal or the third movie has Doomsday. That would be sweet.

  • next film id like to see him pushed in battel and see him to get mad

  • man in this whole movie i thouqht he was fina qie up ...

  • Us fans watching were like, KICK THAT BIG ROCKS ASS SUPERMAN!!!

  • When Superman uses his heat vision, I love the sound it makes. Really unique.

  • i hope clark will do that in smallville season 10 :D

  • I have a question. How does superman's power improve and when does it improve? Another question I have would be how does his hearing work. I'm pretty sure with the fact that he can hear everything on earth, but when he's in space how does that work.

  • @jmguyver1 The longer he stays under a yellow sun as the years go by, the more his powers improve and not only does that slow down Kal-El/Clark Kent/Superman's aging even more (his kryptonian genes already make his aging slow as it is), but his body also will develop a natural resistance to Kryptonite and magic.

In a nutshell, he's destined to live for centuries if not a couple of millenia (as long as he stays under a yellow sun)

  • @MMZERO9 yeah in the comics he lives even past the year like 82500 or something like that

  • Lex is about to get one hell of a foreclosure notice on his new pad.

  • @WillRennar I choked on my own spit from your comment. Made my day. XD

  • @RavenandKidFlash Umm...your welcome? Sorry? One of the two, not sure which really.

  • @WillRennar You should be happy. I never laughed that hard in my life.

  • Awesome scene..... terrific music...... cannot wait for the next Superman movie! its 4 years already since this one...c'mon la la land, there is money to be made here !

  • This was the best part of the film. Gives me chills and the music goes so well with it.

  • Agreed. I just could feel the electricity run from head to toes! Very inspirational!

  • best part in film without a dought?

  • i think it is.....awesome music score to back up a goose bump inducing scene.

  • @nagee76 absolutely agree!!

  • @mrcloudftw ...you mean without a DOUBT

  • @mrcloudftw - no that would be the scene where Superman flies with lois

  • @mrcloudftw DOUBT*

  • @mrcloudftw no the plane scene was THE best part of the movie

  • @mrcloudftw ....doubt.
