Are you talking about Phil Carey? OLTL didn't let him go, he died....he died quite a few months before they killed Asa off on the show. I think he was on less frequently at the end , but that had more to do with age and health.

@JasmineAurora100 No, prior to his death, he left the show because the show was going to put him on recurring status for no reason. He made a few guest appearances after he left.

Viki so rarely loses her cool...but I love that she did with Asa. And Asa was, as always, so freaking awesome. Great scene.
