Yeah...have to agree with most of the responses below...quite a useless video here...far too simplified!
Here, when you tighten the toilet bowl down you want to tighten in a series of tightenings. First, squish the wax gasket down by using your weight on the toilet bowl...tighten bolts, wait a few minutes and tighten again. Then, wait a few more minutes and tighten again being careful not to over do and then cut the bolts and give a final 1/2 turn to the nuts and then cap the bolts!
I think bob street sux, his flange is below the tilesurgace, used a standard wax ring . Didnt grout the floor yet set the bowl with no plaster. And i think your a shmuck for video taping this handyman tighten bolts
a video showing how to tighten nuts. how very usefull. how about showing proper wax ring installation, THAT would be something usefull. this whole video is completely useless
Have you ever gotten plaster wet? Try it and come back here and let everyone know how great of an idea it was to use plaster in a bathroom on the floor under the toilet.
nice video. When I did this the problem I had was having the bolts " stand up straight" . Lining up the holes with the bolts was tuff. You did it very easily.
If you are talking about a height difference because of a new floor, there are extender rings that bring the flange up to the level of the new floor. I just installed 3 because of a 3/4" height difference.
to you all... the best way to avoid not the toilet to move eventhought you tied the screws is..to .put plaster around the toilet .i did that and my toilet is solid like a rock i am confident that a 400 lbs person can sit on it and my toilet will not move..
no hes gona do it the hard way, pushing grout in with his fingers and taping the edege of the bowl to prevent scratching. all in all, this leads to not so great grouting in the end and poor sealing for the grout afterwords, water gets on the floor and eventually makes its way to the to bottom
I can also agree with the comments below that's what you get for hack handyman

Buy a double wax ring (not 2 separate ones), there for unflush setups like yours.

Aren't you supposed to sit on it before you tighten it down to ensure the wax seal seals properly?

and what about the wax seal ?

if u hand tighten then put the tank on, you can tweak it so its 100 percent flush with the wall. then go ahead and tighten the bowl down
