Do you know that The Bright Side of Life is commonly played on the radio, and they CUT OUT THE PARTS "ALWAYS LOOK ON THE BRIGHT SIDE OF DEATH"? They took out all the irony! lol!
It's inspiring seeing Idle, despite his age, continue to participate so wonderfully in these stage shows. It just goes to show he'll be dancing, making jokes and laughing all the way up to his terminal breath.
Eric Idle, you have just secured your spot in my list of favorite people, even though I've never even met you. I love people that can make me laugh and smile. Life is pretty crummy, when you really think about it, so we might as well enjoy what we can, 'cus we've only got one shot down here as far as I'm concerned.
People always said these lyrics to me, and I always saw it written on walls and other places, but I never knew where it originally came from, until I saw the film.
I love this song. The kids have heard me hum or sing this so often that my daughter will simply break out singing it. Always seems when I'm having a down moment that she does that. :) I have corrupted the kids. They love Monty Python. :)
I was shocked recently when someone asked, "Who are Monty Python?" The first description that came to my mind was, "They were the Beatles of comedy." My friend knew this was the highest praise I could possibly give.
@SubmarinerAndroid Well said! I had a similar situation few weeks ago, quite a shock indeed! It's a bit sad that the younger generation is missing out on this. :(
@SubmarinerAndroid we'll be facing these oddities more often in the future... most pre-teenagers have no idea who the Stones or Beatles are. They're not that often on tv or radio anymore.
How quickly monuments like this fade into the background. Though I think to a degree, both Stones, Beatles and Montey Python will remain well known and respected

The thing that made Python so good was it was a bunch of funny, intelligent people out to make each other laugh. And you got to watch.
