Thanks for the return answer. Ya, I know how it is sometimes. You have to alott your time with other interests, i.e. family, work etc. But in the end it's all worth it. I'd like to make the NAFA meet this season but doesn't look like I will either. Anyways, it's going to be interesting to see how your new charge will be in the coming season. Also, that was really cool what you did with that little hen Kestrel. Very impressive. Take care and good hawking. Hope to talk to you soon.
@rvz18 Great footage of your gyr/peregrine kickin' on ducks. It looks like a peale's cross. Do you always fly your Aplomado at bolt? Seems to be pretty effective at any rate. Are you going to the NAFA meet this year in Dodge City? If so, bet you'll do great there. Keep killin' them. I'm a Master falconer myself. Good to see your success.
@Prairie7777 That bird was a Peales cross. He met his end from an impact with a gadwall that ruptured his spleen. He was a damn good bird. Now I'm flying a Anatum cross that is shaping up pretty nice. Another year will tell how good he'll be.
The aplo was flown by my friend Raul Ramirez of Washington. They usually are flown off the fist.
No Nafa for me this year. Its my wife's turn for Thanksgiving break and it looks like we're visiting with the inlaws. Utah next year.
excuse me i have a question. i would love to join falconry but i have one little problem. well actualy 2 my mother has a dumb ratdog and i was wondering if a falcon would attack with out say so. also how much training dose it take to train a falcon to be around humans?
the answers are maybe and quite a bit. If you would like to know more about falconry there are some good books out there. Most libraries have one or two.

how much do these birds coast out of curiosity?
yoyoma102 1 year ago
They are not cheap. Many falconry birds are legally trapped from the wild though. But one must have the proper permits first.

Glad you are interested. You need to look up the falconry club in your state. Try to google your state and falconry. Good luck!
