I remember hearing this song in a dream. It was the part after the first chorus that I had heard and it made me quite sad when he sang "you led a life worth living, but this hole in my heart's giving me some trouble". It reminds me of someone passing away (which I am assuming it is about) and the pain it brings to those who loved that person.
