It's just like watching tv, if you don't like it, change the friggin channel, nobody forced you to watch it! Maybe there's a little miniature hunter in you that you don't know about. You have the right to free speech, the same that hunters have, I'm using my free speech to say get the hell off the video if offends you and find a daisy puffing tree hugging leaf eater channel, I'm sure there's one on YouTube somewhere and I'm sure you won't find a single hunter bashing that channel!
All I can say is wow.....some people have no clue. I have a picture a buddy sent to me of a coyote with a small deer in it's mouth. Not to mention how many chickens and small livestock they kill.....rabbits, and squirrels which many people eat have been taking a beating by them and foxes as well. I come from a farming family, large farm, and to us coyotes are pests....also to shadows, if you have dogs, watch out, coyotes will attack them too! They are animals of opportunity!
shadowsandheart you suck. shut up. this animal rights bull crap is getting old. as little as 100+ years ago there was no whole foods to buy nuts and berries in.. you needed to hunt to get through the winter. hunters hunting is why the human race exists today
How close have you gotten them to come in with that call? How come all anti hunters are either vegetarian, cat people or vegetarian cat people? They would rather have us kill other people than a pest. How demented are those people?
A lot of people need to understand that, historically and traditionally, are not native to a lot of the country. At least for where i live, they have only been around here for around 60 or so years, and were introduced by fox hunters. They pose a threat to livestock and native wildlife, so hunting them helps more than it hurts.
BTW, I and many of my friends eat deer, which displaces the amount of beef we would eat, so it SAVES cows. If we have more than we need, we donate it to food for the hungry, which services soup kitchens for poor people who need assistance. If your an animal lover, you should think beyond the first level and understand the POSITIVE benefits that go beyond the taxes and fees used to benefit conservation.
@dmger14 Well I also don't eat meat, so that is all irrelevant to me. It takes a lot more crop and such to raise a cow than it does to raise a human if you were to look into that, but that is something else altogether. What you say just furthers my argument really. Less coyotes is not about maintaining a healthy population for their sake, but so that people have enough deer to hunt and kill.
@dmger14 Also, like I said the whole "by killing coyotes, we actually donate money to their well-being" seems to be a little back-ass, but that is just my opinion. I can appreciate hunters a lot more when they do kill and use all of the animal, but you have to understand that a huge portion don't do this.
Those are who I've found to be most vocal against hunting. In any case, meat from hunting displaces demand for other meat like beef and chicken. So less cows and chickens are killed when the deer meat is eaten. I want to know from anti-hunters why they favor protecting wild ranging deer instead of penned up cows and chickens. Maybe you can answer that for me? And if you are not vegetarian, why is it ok to pay someone else to kill your meat but not do it yourself?
@dmger14 I am a vegetarian, so I do not value the life of a deer over that of a cow. So I personally don't believe in eating cows or deer, or for that matter protecting deer over cows. All I was saying was that because of the fact I do not eat meat by no means states that I will only eat organic, pesticide-free foods. Regardless of the fact that argument isn't valid as we use most farm land to grow crops to feed cattle.
You aren't trying to foist your vegetarian views on meat eaters, are you? I wonder how you don't believe in eating meat, and find a hunting video and post a criticism unless you are going out of your way to look for trouble. My brother's wife is a vegetarian, but she even cooks meat for family get togethers and doesn't say anything to me about hunting. BTW, I agree organic takes much more land than normal farming/pesticides but the bottom line is..... to each his own!
@dmger14 As I saw it, you were trying to "foist" your anti-vegetarian views on me. Everyone's different, I see something like this and if offends me, I can't help but say something about it. I'm not going to shut my mouth to make the world a more comfortable place for people like you. If you must know I heard a coyote call outside of my house that seemed different from any call I had previously heard from them. I searched "coyote call" on YouTube to find this video, which really bothered me.
@dmger14 And people don't usually "not eat meat to look for trouble". I must say, I try not to be stereotypical but all of you hunters have very much the same uneducated but argumentive answers. You could probably benefit from doing a little research on the world before so avidly defending your biased standpoint on it.
I didn't suggest people don't eat meat to look for trouble. Only those who go to hunting videos and post anti-hunting comments. I donate meat to feed hungry, have taken a kid hunting whose father was killed in Iraq, paid my hunting fees and Robertson Pittman act taxes so the money can be used for conservation, the whole nine yards. And I never once went to someone's video and blasted them for what they do.
@dmger14 Well you by no means have to reply to anything I have said. I saw this video, it disturbed me, so I made a comment. I certainly do not look for these videos, as it seemingly always puts me in a position where I feel I must say something about it and there always are people like you justifying what they do in all the same ways. Like I said, I know hunters. They all hunt for the thrill of killing something, not to better the world.
hunters do do there research. we track stock and kill this is our way of life and we stay within our rights to legally hunt game in its season. if you dont like the video dont watch if you do watch and dont like it other people do like it so dont comment. hunters enjoy watching hunting so why try and tred on it?
we hurt no one and the curious desturbed people who watch our vids and comment stir the pot and because we are hunterss who use guns and bows and kill for sport we end up looking like murdering bad guys but in the end you can watch what you want if you like football watch football if you dont dont voice an negative oppinon to fans of the game right?
cont: this is our sport its our game so please next time you stuble onto a hunting vid will a killshot or a harvested animal dont react negative just remember its our sport
Okay so i bought the pm-4, i would like to know if you could maybe give me a good calling method for it,, i have called in a few, but it seems like what your doing is working.. i enjoy helping those dirty dogs out, so they don't have to spend any more cold winters and hot summer days outside.
If it wasn't for meat, you or I wouldn't be here. I've fielded arguments like these before from people who blast hunters, yet eat meat themselves and therefore pay someone else to do their killing for them. If you don't want to hunt, DON'T, but keep your criticisms to yourself. Hunters I know don't go around blasting vegetarians for eating non-pesticide organic foods because their lifestyle requires timbering many acres of forests to grow crops because yields are so low without pesticides.
@dmger14 you eat coyotes? For the most part, hunting does nothing to contribute to the meat industry. Most people eat farmed animals. I can't say I agree with many methods used in that industry either, but hunters playing themselves off like they do it for the better of the world gets really old.
I eat deer. Coyotes eat deer. Less coyotes, more deer. 1 + 1 = 2. Clearly, you don't hunt, and had to sound off on someone's hunting video instead of minding your own business. I don't go onto organic farming websites and bitch about how much forestland has to be cut down to get a decent yield, given they don't use pesticides and much is lost as a result. I could, but I keep my mouth shut and respect what other people do legally as well.
The cottontail call works great on fox to. Set it down, walked about 50 yards. replayed the cottontail for about 20 minutes and had that fox. Coyotes like the cottontail and yelpin pup calls.. well worth the money on these calls. plenty loud imho.. those beasts got good ears..
@huntrboy22 they dont come in every time, and if your a rookie you could go a long time without calling your first one in. it probably took me a good 35-40 stands before i called in my first. but ive been hooked ever since. dont give up.
what rifle were you using. i know you said .223, but was it a stevens 200? i am looking on geeting either a .223 or .22-250 for coyote and varmints. any suggestions?
There are a billion things people do for no betterment of the world, so why do you put coyote hunting to this standard? BTW, it just so happens that people pay license fees that go to conservaton, so this DOES happen to be for the "betterment of the world." I'm sure he bought those clothes to keep him from freezing out there, and the proceeds of purchases like his keep people employed and allows investors like regular Americans in 401k's to earn money for retirement.
@dmger14 Personally the words conservation and killing really don't go hand-in-hand for me. I do know that the money made from hunting permits and such goes to conservation, whatever the obscured definition of that may be.
This is not what I meant though. All I am saying is that I find it hard to believe that hunters pay good money for all of this equipment, make no income of it and sit out in the cold strictly to better the earth. These hunters certainly don't hate what they're doing.
It's been a while since I saw the video and I responded because I saw in my inbox that someone responded to my post, but I don't know where the "better the earth" comment comes from. Everybody has something that they like to do. Whether these guys like the thrill of the hunt or are asked to cull the coyotes who are killing deer or other animals or livestock, it's nice to see that they have the freedom to do what they enjoy and share with others who like to hunt.
@dmger14 I say that because you all say the same things- it's about population control and keeping the healthy numbers so that they do not kill too many other animals. To me, all I can think when I hear that is bullshit. You're doing it simply because you enjoy it. I know and live around hunters, and it never gets easier for me to hear that people enjoy hunting. For what reason, killing? Is it such a feat to you to be able to gun down an animal with no defense that you lured in with a fake call?
@dmger14 If you really feel the need to wield weapons, why not join the army? Except most of you would be unable to handle someone on the other side having a weapon too. It's just a very cowardous "sport".
dont put down our SPORT i you ever picked up a newg gun you would understand its not just point and shoot its hundreds of rounds learning and learning about range wind everything. the single shot kills here took alot to make happen

And many hunters think they need a 600 dollar foxpro. On one site a hunter said he didn't call in a coyote since he got rid of his attractor....
