I can't believe this. Thanks to whoever was involved in posting this. I was there and have this day in my mind ,but wow to see this.... I remember Ace being drunk and them staying at Peaches just a short time. I ran around to that wooded lot and saw them up close when they left. I still have a picture of Genes hand in the back window of the limo. THANKS !!! ASH
@zetamoon We were teenagers driving from Tifton, GA on the way back to Nashville, TN. We heard about the record store Peaches and wanted to visit. We couldn't believe the sign read KISS in store appearance today! I happened to have my Super 8mm camera with me and bought a new roll of film and fresh batteries across the street from Peaches. 3 out of 4 of our partners from our podcast, Concert Blast, happened to be there. A friend transposed this to DVD for me. Thanks, Mike A.
I was there and met KISS inside and my brother and I got their autographs on a Peaches flyer.I was so hoping to see myself in this footage.Glad to see it anyway.I almost got fired from my job for going up there to see KISS,because I was over 2 hours late to work. The idiot I worked for said he would not let me off to go to the concert so when I knew of KISS appearing at Peaches I went and didn't care if I lost my job.Luckily I didn't and got meet earth wind and fire wehn they stayed at my motel
@Vaekkrinhart They were cutting through a Kudzu trail behind the shopping center where Peaches records and tapes was located, but looks like somebody let the cat outta the bag ahead of time.
I love how they have KISS go into the trees, to then make a dramatic entrance all together later coming out of the woods. Probably another genius idea of Bill Aucoin's.
This is so great. It brings back so many memories. I cant believe how old I am now. Looking at the cloths and cars and bad video. I am nearly in tears. I am now dating a woman that was at the same concert from the'77 tour here in ATL. We were both about 10-12 at the time.Things were surly different back then.
They were on top of the world, and what's better they knew it. That has to be some kind of feeling.
@cherfan01 Ace wasnt good @ walkin in those boots, he'e failin many of times on stage, then he acts like its part of a show plus he was drinkin a bottle of wine wen he gotten out of the car. heheheee
Possible the coolest KISS clip I have ever seen man! Downright trippy almost...and Ace's stumbling about is as rock & roll as it gets, coming out of the woods? Wacky! Like a time warp man, thanks!
30,000 tickets is cool though understand that the show started at 3 p.m. and ended around 1:15 a.m. Additionally it rained on and off throughout the day so by the time BOC hit the stage around 10 p.m. many people had bailed so the crowd had thinned considerably possibly because it was the night before school was due to start the next day. So when KISS hit the stage around midnight there was definitely fewer people.
Wow, Peaches Records. My mom used to drive my friends and I when I was a kid down to the one in Ft. Lauderdale, about 35 miles from our house. I actually bought my first KISS album there back in early '76. Memories :>)
cool. I went to the show at the stadium but didnt make the instore appearance. The show was a bit odd. Kiss hit the stage at midnight because of rain delays. Openers included 38 Special, Bob Seger, Johnny & Edgar Winter, and Blue Oyster Cult (who got the most rain during their set)
well the stadium held about 50,000 though I would say there were much less than that. maybe 20,000. the field was open so one could hang out on the pitcher's mound. It rained a lot that day and pretty much ruined BOC's set. Kiss hit the stage at midnight !
Peaches was located on Peachtree St (duh). If you were heading down 85 south, got off at Peachtree, turned right it was down about a mile or so on the left. It was sad when they tore it down...even worse was the fact that they destroyed the "walk of fame" handprints/footprints/autographs set into all those concrete slabs. You could see a few of those in this video.
ohmigod. This is unbelievable. That's me and my friends in that first limo. I can't believe you have this.
I have lots of photos from that day. Me and my friends in those costumes before we went to Peaches, and me and Gene, and Ace at the hotel, etc. Wanna trade? I'd love to have a copy of this film! And I can sure prove it's me because I have loads of photos.
This took place on August 14th 1976, fifteen days prior to their Braves Stadium show. Kiss flew into Atlanta in between shows in Houston on the 13th and El Paso on the 15th. There was a costume contest and girls could pay to kiss their favorite band member. I knew about this event but have never seen film footage, only pictures. There's Ace with his ever-present champagne bottle, ripped.
very original from early on in thier careers. It has a social documentation aspect to it as well.More people should film stuff like this and look back in 25 years.
