  • No accent? Say dog.

  • Thank you..this was very helpful.

  • Good Job Doctor

  • @mihailolord

-.- shush. No one will die. Sheesh.

  • Ohhh, and also, the career would be in Florida.

  • If there are any surgeons, or anyone that knows about knee and hip surgery, is this a good surgery as a career, please comment back, thanks.

  • Ihad mine done two years ago after suffering for years , had hardly any discomfort and was walking without crutches next day

  • i've had 4 major knee surgeries in the past 18 months and two more on the way, all mine have been open procedures along with the arthroscopy. this procedure is nothing and can be pain free if u know how to manage your pain.

  • Had mine done a few years ago on my right knee and now im having my left knee done in a few weeks. Seriously guys there is nothing to worry about at all and i cant stress that enough as your in good hands. I wont lie to you, there is some pain after but nothing major. The more you move the knee then yeah there will be more pain, just relax take it easy and do as your Doctor tells you and you will be fine. I'm going for my second and I have no worries whats so ever.

  • i had this done 3 days ago it was pretty bad and painfull. im only 13

  • Had the op 3 days ago. I opted for an epidural rather than a general anaesthetic and very glad I did. I have not had to take any pain killers at all and even watched the screen to see what was happening inside my knee. It was much better not having to come round after and I was able to walk and go home very soon after.

  • @juliemit ive had the samething, i took the general, woke up after, didnt have to wait 2 hours. Felt like 10 minutes of sleep.. Woke up and they injected something in my upperleg while i was sleeping so i didnt feel any pain for the next 24-30 hours.

I have not taken any painkillers .

  • i have this done yestarday, and im in so much pain now :(

  • Wow. Omg I going to have this surgery next week, and I'm very afraid of it. How much time do you need to recover from it ???.

  • @robercik5678 I'm getting it done tomorrow and according to my dr....you will need about 3 days..That's including the surgery day...But if you want I can come back to this page after the surgery and tell you what they told me lol

  • I'm having my ligaments arthroscopy under general anaesthetic done next week: worried sick any advice?

  • @Paglaraja I'm having the same thing done...I am freaking out and trying to find some info on this cause I have only had a c section.....Oh I am seriously nervous

  • @Paglaraja how's everything passed, you feel ok now? sports?

  • Are there any vids of bone being removed from the knee. I wonder because i am having that procedure in about 3 weeks. Thanks

  • I'm going in for partial meniscectomy tomorrow and this video has given me great confidence - thank you

  • dam im going to the doctor tommorrow and i am a soccer player i am afraid and dont know what to do what should i do

  • Hi im a soccer player..and i might get a surgery. How long those it take until i can start playing again

  • Hi im a soccer player..and i might get a surgery. How long those it take until i can start playing again

  • what if youre gay, will you still do the procedure?

  • wat do they put in ur knee as a replacement

  • The very bottom of your femur bone is cut to a certain shape so that will fit the prothestic, which is metal (replacing the bone that was cut off). The very top of the tibia is cut as well, to shape/fit into the new prothestic (same procedure as femur). On top of the new piece of metal [glued] on top of the newly cut tibia, they place a plastic platform. The new platform is where the newly placed femur [prothetic] will rest/put weight upon once the patient uses his/her leg.

  • how long was ur therapy and i have a tear in my ACL and alot of tightness in the knee restricted movement

  • i have to get knee surgery and im really scared about it arthroscopic by the way

  • i had mine operated on 8 years ago. i injured it skiing. i wont ever ski again, but i can walk without pain.

  • was it repaird or removed?

  • repaired. it was just never the same after i injured it.

  • but now your 100% ok right?

  • i can walk, lol. i cant do anything that shocks my knee, like jump, run, or ski. maybe if i were a pro athlete and spent all my time re-habbing my knee, it would be different but even for many pros, they are never the same. its diff. for everyone...for me it was the end of a lot of things. most important to me was that the everyday pain was gone. recovery, for me, took months.

  • well i got this surgury 3 weeks ago and still cant put weight for a month but it still wont keep me from not playing sports

  • if you are young, that helps. i was on crutches for 4 weeks, so that sounds about right. do what the doc says and GO TO REHAB. good luck to you!

  • yeah im 20 and ive been in crutches for 2 weeks and a half already and got a call that ima go to rehab soon so ima be there for shure , well thanks alot and hope sometime you get back to skiing! take care!

  • Hey man Im 24 I m getting medial meniscus surgery... how long until u got back to sports? thanks man

  • your still young so insted of removeing it they are just going to repare it, i was in cruches for 2 months and when i was on my feet it took me another 3 months and a half till i got the green light to play again! good luck hope it all goes well !

  • Hey man im getting meniscus surgery in a couple of days... are u back to playing sports?

  • i am getting that op done next thursday does any1 no how long it takes or if there is much pain after it?

  • I am having my cartilage operated on. 12 of Feb, i have also torn my Cruciate ligament, and broken my foot in three places, i still currently non weight bearing and have been this way since 12 Oct 2008. Am having physio at the moment, but as i am a single parent without any family living in Cheltenham they are 300 miles away in Edinburgh you can imagine it has been pretty lonely. I usually work 6 days a week to support my Daughter who is fourteen.

  • i had my medial meniscus repaired today!

  • how long does it take to heal??i think mine is damaged...

  • It is different for everyone. But the Dr.'s make it sound like it is no big deal but it is. They told me that after about a month I can start jogging and do some higher impact exercises. That was not true for me. I may have re injured it by following the those orders. I would say give it about 3 months, and make sure you do the therapy they give you.

  • ur knee will not heal by itself

u will need to be operated on to shave and remove the damaged medial meniscus (cartledge)

i tore mine playing aussie rules football and had surgery

trust me it was the right decission, because if u dont then u will have problems in the future

  • it varies on the person and there pain tolerance if that makes any sense. it can range any where from 1 month up to 4 months depending on how quick you can rehab it which falls under pain tolerance.
