The lights in this video are working correctly, you want the gate lights on and gate down in case of a train on NS. The lights on the other side of NS need to be off because there is no train on NS. If there was a train on NS those lights would come on. When driving a motor vehicle signs are above or on the right side of the road unless your passing in which that is illegal to do over a railroad crossing. The crossing - lights and gates are adequate and working properly.
I think you may have misunderstood what I meant. The gate lights should be on, as you stated, and that gate should be down. However, the rear lights on the gated signal should be off, because there is no train on NS's track. The rear lights on NS's gateless signal should be on, because it is facing oncoming traffic to the train. To sum it up, there shouldn't be any lights flashing in the direction towards where the train is, but only towards oncoming traffic that is heading to the train.
Yeah, that's why the lights should be fixed to flash correctly for what track the train is on. It doesn't make sense to have the lights flashing for the approach lane going away from the train...
Yeah, the front lights only. The rear ones do not need to be flashing because the train is not on the track near that signal. It confuses drivers if the lights are flashing when your going away from the track the train is on...

Awesome video! I love trains! The lights looked like they confused the driver.

I think Michigan has a law to have bells ring while the gates are down.
