  • Which is around 20%

  • @Xternal47

Yes bid they are very messy! And produce lots of waste.

I the tank is 360 litre I change around 60 litres a week. Always keeps my water good!

  • heya bro.. just curious how often do you have to change the water ? =] turtles cause alot of mess when eating and poo's alot so just curious how often do u have to change the water to prevent ammonia build up.. =] thanks

  • I'm not very experienced at all when it comes to turtles but do the jewel cichlid not pose a real threat to the other fish if not also your turtle. In my experience of keeping them they are ridiculously aggressive even in larger tanks. I'm just interested in getting a turtle and am interested to see how you've fared upon mixing the two. Thank you =D

  • @MRDaviii89

Hiya No, Jewels can stand there ground but there are on the placid side of the cichlid world. They will squabble now and again and attack a fish that is much smaller than them if it's weaker. Malwais will fight to the death, These are not Malawis albeit from Africa the jewels are not from one of the great lakes

  • heyy just wanted to ask about something. i have aquarium and i have turtles in it but the problem in my aquarium is that its very deep and i cant find a way to make a home for my turtles like the one u have plz help if u have any idea thx :D

  • @MrFaisalmalak

?? Why don't you just do what i did??

  • @ImAturtle369

    Hi

While I kinda agree that mores company. It's been proven that turtles are individuals and enjoy there own company. And do not need other turtles. But still another turtle would be nice.

  • Get a nother turtle he is very lonly... :(

  • Love howthe turtle follows you every where you go.

  • @theleMBeleht Im not sure if you got what my comment really meant

  • @theAArmstrong

Yes mate it's all money. Count yourself lucky once you upgrade and got a decent filter that's about it. I just set up a marine tank and there's ALWAYS something to buy.

  • @Cj49013

Sorry mate thats too small. Ok for the first month and that's about it. It's a waste of money. It's just easier and cheaper in the long run to house a young turtle in at least a 50G (USA)

  • i have a 10 gallon tank and i have 3 tiger barbs could i put a turtle in my tank

  • @cj49013 an adult turtle needs at the very least a 50g tank - and they grow very fast! So, to answer your question, No.

  • LMAO@ To much water. Yes yes turtles hate large bodies of water they much rather swim in a puddle.

  • He's not to bad about 6". You sure yours isn't a female if it's big?

  • @walsallcrew nah m8 defo a male by his fat tail and long front claws, wanting to upgrade him to a 5 by 2ft tank wid cabinet and adopt a cuple more but the tanks r stupidly expensive, then you have to buy a powerful external filter, just too much, he in a waterland tub at mo but thts too small.

  • how big is tht male turt?? have a cooter, fookin massive.

  • @0riginalginger

Hi depends on age mate the younger the more carnivores they are the old they are the more herbivores they are. But mine would never turn down a meaty meal (omnivores). What mine does now he's older. If he spots a new fish he will chase it for a day or two. Then he doesn't bother with them at all and they all get along fine. But some don't get away from him in the initial few days!!

  • @0riginalginger

Depends on age mate. The younger the more carnivore they are the older they more herbivores

  • @0riginalginger

Hi when there young there mainly Carnivores and eat lots of varied meat so naturally they will go for the fish as they age most turn to more of Herbivores. But I would say most are omnivores as mine loves his veggies but would never turn down a meaty meal. What mine does now he's older if he spots a new fish he will chase it for a couple of days. Then after that he doesn't even look at them and they all swim together. So really it depends on age of the turtle.

  • Don't your turtles eat the fish?

I'm getting a reevs and a stinkpot soon together... and i wanted fish to eat the rubbish in the tank but i was worried that my turtles would eat them! x nice tank! :D

  • @7Italianstallion

    Hiya

The fish at 28 is a turquoise jewel cichlid. From Africa but not a Malawi. From the rivers of Africa. The acrylic is all one piece And just cut and siliconed in either side. Silicone holds it in very well. As its the same silicone that's holding the tank together.

  • badass male turtle at 2:50 , love the claws. how'd u install the plexi glass and how many peices did u use and if u used more than one piece of plexi glass how did u attach them to eachother?

  • hey wut kind of fish were the ones at 0:28 ? (=

  • those jewel cichlids will kick ur turtle's ass

  • Your turtle tank is very pretty do you want to upgrade your turtle tank if you do look at my video . turtle and koi fish are having so much fun. you will see what I mean. good luck and have fun

  • @Dlthompsr

There's some turquoise jewel cichlids in there which are quite hardy. And there was some Bala sharks in there at one point but there too docile.

  • also, btw, what type of fish is in there other than the barbs?

  • @Dlthompsr

Hey thanks for the comment yeah the tiger barbs do well. Bit keep them in a group of at least six else they will start fighting with each other. Have a look at my other video where the turtle eats some chicken and the tiger barbs try to get the the chicken of the turtle.

  • Man, I wanted to comment and say this is one of the better set ups I've seen on this site for turtles. It's ideal for a basking area and for more swimming, as turtles love to swim. I was surpised to see the tiger barbs in there with the turtle, do he ever try to eat them? Because I was thinking of getting tiger barbs and sunblast platy's for me tank as well? Awesome, pure awesomeness.

  • @nukanukanuka Hiya. Not sure on song as I do most replys off my phone and it only has limited access. But I will have a look got you it should say it somewhere. Thanks for your comment

  • the turtle needs a place to rest on , on the surface

  • @shanrizzel

And too much water??? I'm tired of people saying this. How can you possibly have too much water? The more water the longer the water will be non polluted. = happy turtle and fish

  • @shanrizzle

Hi If you watched all the video you would have clearly seen him get out onto it! I can only apologise for my crap videoing skills. But please watch till the end.
