  • this is fucking INSANE, really you are a monster xd

  • For those big robots that give hit+5s I always destroy them where the pillars stay up, whereas I get hit+1s a lot easier by hitting the pillars.

  • damn and i thought i was king nvm. Well i learned alot from the whole ground shooting thing

  • can u get this on a mac computer

  • DO A BARREL ROLL

  • wow.. this just shows me how much I suck at this game, didn't even know there was expert mode. Still an epic video gamr tho. I think I'll go home and free the Lylat system, once again.

  • Hey, at 1:29, did you rapidly charge it that robot behind the building to get that second Hit+5? I have never done that before.

  • Holy shit in a cup that was brilliant, even if you WEREN'T putting your all into it.

So shooting charged shots into the ground makes an explosion that takes out multiple enemies? I saw "HIT + 5"s popping up like crazy, I didn't even know you could make combos like that...

  • Yeah I use a technique called the CUS which stands for Charged Unlocked Shot. All the SF64 highscorers use it as a way to get absurdly high scores on each planet.

Basically it is the same principle as when you lock on to a group of enemies and you get a Hit+ x-1 bonus, with 'x' being the number of enemies in the group.

With the CUS strategy coupled with good braking or hitting an obstacle near an enemy, it is possible to get Hit+ x with 'x' being the number of enemy/enemies you are hitting.

  • wow very nice awesome f@#ing cool

  • I can't even do that in Expert...

  • Never mind, I can now!

  • You did miss some enemys with charged laser. You could get one or two hits more if you practise a bit longer I bet! How often did you do this to do it so much good? O_O

  • Yeah, I know I did but as I said in the description, I wasn't trying for a highscore. This was just a test to see how my videos would look on YouTube when I recorded through my Mac. If I was really trying, I could get in the 320s.

Also, it is hard when playing directly through the Mac because there is some lag between what you press on the controller and what happens on screen so that makes it more difficult. Oh, and I must have practised this level many times!

  • does hooking the n64 to the mac give you an advantage? cos im playin it on a N64 n the CUS sometimes doesnt work

  • Nah don't think so. If anything, it gives you a disadvantage because of the lag. It should work on the N64 fine. Just make sure you are always holding Z and R and there will be no lock-on shots.

  • ah ok didnt kno bout tht cheers for all the help man, i'll try to get to your level someday lmao

  • ah ok, i tried earlier today n got 211. i picked up on tht a while ago (the CUS) but i didnt know bout those enemies appearing if you fly through those gates, cheers for the advice man (y)

  • HOLY SHIT 309, god your an elite man, fuck, the highest i got on tht level was 200, how the hell did ya do it?

  • Thanks! Before I found out about CUSing, (Charged Unlocked Shot) the best I got was about the same as you. If you can master the CUS, (which is what I do with practically every shot in this video) then your scores will improve by ALOT!

  • @ the description:

No wonder I can't get crazy scores on SF64, I only have the VC version, and the highest overall score I have ever gotten is 821 hits, on Hard mode, got a game over against Star Wolf on Venom, so 0 hits on Venom. (my high score on Corneria is 98 hits)

And Is it just me, or does the N64 version have better graphics than the VC version?

  • Yeah, the VC version is very hard to get highscores on. If you want to get serious about highscoring on Star Fox 64, use the N64. The controls are so precise and much easier to use. The only exception to this is Titania and possibly Macbeth and Fortuna where the VC is the one to go for.

And I don't think the graphics are better on the N64. The VC runs the game at a higher resolution so it looks sharper but there are graphical glitches. I do personally prefer the look of the game on the N64.

  • I am starting to get serious about high scores, but I'll stick to trying to be a crazy VC version high scorer.

Well, I just beat my high score on Corneria and in the game today.

    Corneria: 129 hits

    Overall: 985 hits

I used the hard path until Zoness, I decided to go to Macbeth, and then to Boise and Venom 1 on purpose. That's how I got my 2 top scores.

  • well done man! in my opinion, the best path to take is through the meteo, then to katina, sector x, macbeth and area 6 and onto the hard venom. (if your wondering how to get to katina via meteo just fly through those blue warp gates. you may kno already but yeh just tryin to help)

  • I'll try that path out. I didn't really know what those blue warp gates were for until now, Thanks for clearing that up.

Oh, and a few days ago I topped my Corneria score once again.

    Corneria: 151 hits

    Overall: 1067 hits

That time I went on this path: Corneria, Sector Y, Aquas, Zoness, Macbeth, Area 6, and Venom 2 (hard Venom).

I had to watch a video on here to figure out the best way to kill Andross's brain, it was so freaking annoying!

  • aha i kno, i used to keep gettin killed by his tentacles. what you have to do is destroy those weird eyeball things. once you've done tht, you have to keep shooting his cerebrum or cerebelum dnt kno which is which, its the part of his brain tht looks like a lump and its right near his tentacles

  • I already knew how to kill him, but didn't know how to trick him into showing that weak spot, all's you have to do is shoot him until he disappears, then lean to the right and turn to face him, his weak spot is showing every time.

  • ah i see, yer its synch once you get used to it eh?

  • If I understood what you said correctly, yes.

Good thing that there is a trick like that to beat the final boss easily, otherwise the fight against Andross's brain would never end.

  • lmao yeh, hey did you kno if you somersault just after he says 'only i have the brains to rule lylat' you can go slow enough to lock onto the eyeball thingies and hit them both with a charge shot (hold a), ull get an extra point (HIT +1)

  • No, I didn't know that.

I didn't know that you could do a somersault after a Brain-Monkey thing says a stupid pun.

  • For a beginner, those scores are pretty good.

  • I was even surprised at my scores. For a noob who knew nothing about the game, I'm surprized I got that 1000 hit score, that was my first try at trying to get high scores.

  • in my psp itd be cool

  • did you play this on the wii?

  • Nope. I hooked my N64 up to my Mac and played it through there. There was some lag so it made it hard to aim sometimes.

  • amazing O.O

  • Cool...in your description it says there is a small amount of latency...what's that?

  • it just means there is some lag. So when I press a button on the controller, there is a small delay between pressing it and what happens on screen. It's only very small and doesn't stop the game from being playable. Actually I'm really impressed with the quality of the picture so I think I'll upload videos using this method from now on.
