A quick clarifcation- The closed beach is in Middletown, RI, as it says in the caption. The adjacent Easton's Beach in Newport (seen in the background)remains open to swimming. -John Torgan
Right on! I smelled this a few weeks ago-some buildings across the street are dumping directly into that stream-maybe not on purpose but they are! Dyes should be put into every places septic system to track which ones are responsible.
Thanks for your comment. Save The Bay first and foremost wants more people aware of the true impacts of this problem. This beach closure is just one example. An immediate way to take action is to FORWARD THE VIDEO. We are working to make sure people know about any upcoming hearings or forums on Aquidneck Island pollution. Your voice will count and at the approriate time we'll use our online capacity to help you turn up the volume.
this a great video that helps outline the massive problem we face, and, yes, communities need to help. but can you please inform us of how we can we help? the community needs to know *how* to help, not just that they should help. please offer us some solutions and options.
