Nice trick to get past 'em and all that, but I personally wouldn't do that... seems kinda cheat-ish. Well, maybe not cheating but it seems like it wasn't MEANT to be possible to shoot the portal 45s. Personally I destroyed 3 of the 4 turrets by jumping through the walls onto the platforms. The 4th which I couldn't destroy, could be crept past half way on the platform by crouching, then running/jumping next to the button before it killed me.

at the end, if you're having trouble getting spun around in the air while you're traversing to each platform. Make sure you look back down - as you land back down on your portal. It makes it TONS easier.

I know a better way :3. once you get to the turret room, place a portal near the turret to the left from the view of the spot where you get the cube. grab the turret, and go back to the button. angle the turret so its leaning on the door. go back to the button. press it momenterily. The turret holds the door open for you :D

One thing I did differently was when you're jumping to the button thing. If you jump through the portal and immediately make a portal once your through, you don't have to jump to the lower plateform.

Oh man Ive got over the first pit, but didnt know how to get on the second. I even took a Watercan out of Ratmans room and gone over the first pit again. From there on I was holding the watercan while jumping again forward over the pit to land on the security cam. THEN I tried to place the can under me on the cam, and tried t ojump on the can, just to sneak a peak of the ground of the second plattform. Well it didnt worked, the can always felt down once I gont on it XD

BUT I came pretty far! XD

@mattferrett what happened was just before the blue portal landed on the wall he pulled back thorugh the orange one, so that his body wasnt inside it. The portal doesnt change warp destination until the new one connects to a surface.

...it`s posible to take down turrets, you also have to be quick, take few shots, spend more time and that`s all. I actuali played portal few days ago for the first time, and when I reached this room with turrets, I wasn`t looking for some other way...i just went for solution that includes bringing them down.

Read: blue = first platform shot,

Orange = first jumping shot

Orange = second jumping shot

Blue = 3rd jumping shot

Orange = 4th

Blue = 5th.

Basically, The first part is just a gravity jump, then you shoot the portal you shot down the long chamber at the next platform, then the other colour, then the other colour, then the other colour. It's alternate except for the first one, which starts with the colour that you shot down the first chamber (In this case, orange.)

although there's an easier way in the sentrys chamber. one portal in the opening gate, then go back where is the red button, jump down and shot the other portal, :p

this is advanced chambers, you cant take them out they are caged. its advisable to take the turrets out on the normal mode.

If you had taken the time to actually watch the video to realize what level it was before opening your mouth in a futile attempt to seem more intelligent than you actually are, you would have realized that in this level they are NOT caged on advanced mode. Instead the small lethal globes being projected by portal guns have all been removed. It IS possible to take them out on this level still, it's just a lot more difficult and takes a lot more time.

You have a pretty inefficient way of going through the turret room.

If you hit the button and put the portal on the angled wall, you can go back by the big button and fall enough to fling yourself to the cube. You can then walk off the edge and back up onto the lower level with the button to get out. Takes about half the time.

Wow... A walkthrough for this game is really lame (walkthroughs for most puzzle games are lame, particularly for short puzzle games).. And this is most definitely not the easiest way to do this level.

No, I meant this is not the easiest way to do the advanced mode. It's semi-speedy, but generally as a walkthrough you want to show the easiest way (there's a fairly simple manner of taking out the turrets).

I'm sorry, but I'm pretty sure tharbrick knows what the hell he's doing. Look up some of his other videos, maybe, and you'll see what I mean. Portal is not linear in the sense that you can complete a puzzle in different ways. To each his own.

And actually, I was disappointed in how linear portal actually is. Though it's still one of the best games ever made.

Maybe Portal 2 will be more non-linear...this IMHO would be a "good thing." This is speculation, of course, that there will be a Portal 2, but seeing how popular Portal is, I figure it to be a sure thing.

Yes, I very much hope there is a portal 2, and I very much hope it's a bit less linear. This game is a bit less of a tech demo than narbacular drop, but it's still mostly a tech demo. Half the game is a step by step process of teaching you how to play...
