We live in a great country. I think we are losing some of our greatness because people look to the government so much for assistance. I teach junior high math and social studies and have 3 kids of my own. We teach our kids about God, and we help them become independent. My goal is that all of my kids, use their talents, work hard and become self-sufficient. The government trains people to be dependent on the government. This is how they get their power.

If you want to talk about waste, why don't you mention the $965 billion that is budgeted for current military, which is 54% of the total budget?
Are you a lawyer in your spare time? You sound like one. Bush proposed a 3.1 trillion dollar budget, I guess those democrates kept him in line! The current fereral debt is 9.3 trillion. You can have all the creative accounting that you want and that is still an unreal amount. But why should the feds care, most folks don't seem to mind. And what the heck, lets through in free health care, an i-pod, a tv, and maid service for all!!!
