I used to have this guy as a kid, and Where as even as a child I thought he was a bit odd, I still loved him. I must get myself another one. Great review as always.
The mode name you're looking for is Rocket Propelled Lazer Pistol! I remember from the previous review of this guy :D Ever since then I've used it to describe EVERY gun that is in any way sci-fi :D on one hand I miss the old vids, but on the other, It's AWESOME to get to see more of you!
LOL I love your reviews Ray you like playing with your transformers on camera just as much as giving us good reviews and that's makes your reviews really fun to watch. :)
Ahh, Quickswitch. You have to give them credit for designing and marketing a sextuple Transformer in 1987. 25 years later and we're recieving NO sextuple changers in modern Transformers toylines. Ambitious, nostalgic and silly - Generation 1 still has more imagination in their toys than most other Transformers toylines. Sublime review Ray - you did the toy justice.
Quickswitch always had a Cornflake look to him, and he is brick. But he is a nice looking brick if ever there was one, and I still don't know how Sixshot could ever have a son. Transformers defies logic when it comes to children & parents.
I'm not impressed with any of the botcon offerings either, sadly I had high hopes for octopunch. I'd pick him up for a fiver but couldn't justify much else.
Poor old quickswitch, where sixshot is large, long, angular and expressive this chap is a squat an odd little box of a bot that just bulges in odd directions and calls it a mode. I still love him though.
he really is bees knees hahah it would be great to see some more paint on one to bring out the details but i wonder if it will only distract from the other modes ....would be very interesting ;)great review as allways!!
Thanks for the review, Ray! Your reviews are always fun to watch bearing in mind that with every review, my "bots to buy" list grows by one bot. I can only agree with Vigadeath: "Stop making me want toys."
NBNA100, made an interesting observation in regards to the bot-mode, in his review he made millions of years ago (aka, a year ago), that he believes that the figure was originally designed as a headmaster. He draws attention to the large, square head and the chest where the "spd, str, int" meter would be, is filled in with a detailed blue plastic. A few simple modifications, such as placing a puma head that flips out in the passenger compartment, and viola! He's a six changer! (to be continued)
@pathosis Whether or not if this is the case, I do not know, but it certainly adds some support to such a notion, I think.
As for the figure, he's okay and some of the modes do require a bit of imagination. Hasbro said they needed a Autobot six-changer to compliment Sixshot and we got one.
I'm on the same boat with this years Botcon toys. They're just okay. Nothing really that makes the jaw drop. I do like the RTS G2 Prime repaint. Ultra Magnus in Diaclone colors. That's clever.
Peppermint green Ray!!! PEPPERMINT.....GREEEEEEEN!!!
*ahem*
You're more fruity american accent makes my belly rumble with laughter.
I think I'll review his daddy soon so don't you be doing the same!
This is possibly one of the most fun reviews of yours I've watched recently. Personally I'd say the puma mode is the best but then robotic beasts are a favourite of mine.
what is the oldest transformer toy?
