Have to admit I was surprised at which country the Croatia tourism ad was for, considering how recent the wars were (and that the bombing of Kosovo was still to come) - of course, "an old friend" alludes to the popularity of the region among Western tourists back when it was part of Yugoslavia.
p.s., before anyone comments, I know Kosovo is quite some way from Croatia and was no longer connected politically to it at all by this time - just commenting that the turbulence of the 1990s in the former Yugoslavia, one of the very few areas in the world to be more turbulent then than in the 2000s, wasn't over yet. Well-made ad, though, clearly referring back in its style to those old Yugoslavia tourism ads which so rapidly seemed tragi-comic.

I think I'm going to continue calling that announcer "black Channel 4 lady" if it's all the same with you.
God damn those Nescafé adverts sucked.
