  • Verizon tried to charge me 177.75 in oder to reactivate my cell phone. They added all types of federal taxes and equipment charges. Do not sign the electronic signature block. ask them to show the list of charges before you agree to any transaction. They are professional crooks.

  • Holy crap. $29.99 for 10MB in 2007!?!?!

  • I hate verizon

  • LMAO !!!

  • Solution? Don't get AT&T or Verizon.

  • Interesting seeing as how my mom went on her internet with Verizon back around 2005 and it never turned off. She received a 3000 dollar bill for (not) using the internet on her phone.

  • lol, americans

  • @BlakjeKaas Lol, they're the most powerful country in the world so suck it Eurofag.

  • @BlakjeKaas Lol, they're the most powerful country in the world so suck it Eurofag.

  • @VelaToNorma7

Still, if 93% of the poorer part of America doesn't know how to count, I wouldn't be proud if I were to live in America.

  • here is a scary phone number 1-216-333-1810 like this if u found it creepy.

  • @darktrooper1000

    It's from Ohio...that's creepy enough.

  • heres a tip...get UNLIMITED data. Especially if you have a smart phone.

  • @yakitoriPB Yea except Verizon's Unlimited plan IS NOT unlimited. You still have data caps and overages.

Big reason why I'm now a happy sprint customer.

  • In one part u put it wrong when they said 5 cents and it's = to 0.005 dlls

  • @valtierra10503 uhm... 5 cents does not = .005 dollars, .005=.5 cents

  • Thank God I'm with Tracfone and have been for years so I've never had this kind of nightmare! I get double the minutes I paid for, free incoming texts and same rate as US calls for overseas calls! Cheap to buy and cheap to use...saves me a fortune!

  • 25 cents a kilobyte, lmao a picture would cost like 400 dollars to download

  • Since you already knew the answer to the questions. You could give the rep the benifit of the doubt that they gave you the wrong verbage. Ask the rep again to make sure they gave you the correct answer. And if they stick with their same wrong answer then you can assume that they are to lazy to ask for help or to look for the correct answer. Last, if you have an inadequate trainer. You get inadequate rep. This happens with all companies not just Verizon Wireless.

  • Before you judge this video. You should call each carrier to make a comparison. Why be bias to just Verizon Wireless. Call ATT, Sprint, T-Mobile, Alltel, Cricket, and etc. in your Market. Plus, calling cust service in your market is handle in different region of the United States. Next time ask which call center handled your call. There could be a learning curve for that location and for you to assume to judge Verizon Wireless to be a bad carrier. Don't be an idiot make another video to compare

  • How did that one operator who answered both questions correctly slip past Verizon's strict policy of only hiring idiots?

  • I bet people'd kill for .002 CENTS

  • i didnt understand how bad verison is thank u this vid was helpful

  • maybe it's really .002 cents per kb

  • .99¢ = 99/100 of 1 cent (That's LESS than 1 penny.)

    $.99 = 99/100 of 1 dollar

    $.99 = 99 cents or 99¢

Why do people not know this?

.99¢ makes no sense anyway as numbers appearing to the right of the decimal point ALWAYS represent a fraction of 1. Whole number ALWAYS appear to the left of the decimal point.

  • @alianza1310 I think _56_ calls to customer service counts not only as research, but DILIGENT research. Whether or not they ask you for a contract, the point of the video is that the people they hire, train and put on the phone to dispense information are dispensing WRONG information, and they can't even agree on which wrong answer to give you.

  • @alianza1310 You so funny! You make no sense!

  • rofl .5 cents per kilobyte!? holy shit pure robbery!

  • lmao @ "they shut you off... actually"

  • @JStanz02 haha, that had me cracking up as well.

  • lolzz

  • ok so what was the point of this so what if you got so many different answers questions like you asked can just be easily looked up without havinig to call .

  • @Creepingdeathx81 The point is that the majority of people who call won't look it up because they won't know it's wrong, and then they'll be charged a rate different than they were quoted. Rather, the point is that it's dishonest unless Verizon makes a massive effort to train their customer representatives that "point zero zero two dollars per kilobyte" is the price, not "point zero zero two cents per kilobyte" (and consistent numbers would be good, too...I wonder where .15 comes from.)

  • dude who wouldcall these poor people at wprl that many times. please get a life u retarded ugly fat human

  • "dude who wouldcall these poor people at wprl that many times"

    @URIN He called a radio station? :-)

Seriously, the point was to demonstrate that Verizon is misquoting the rates for data roaming in Canada, and they aren't even misquoting them consistently.

Perhaps you didn't notice that the answers were different many times. Trust me, they are. :-)

  • was that a customer service guy calling a customer service guy at 4:00

  • @nickyperezz Lmfao, yea xD

  • OMG this is horrible. I already hate Verizon because they dont work at my grandmas house which is in Scurry, Texas and everyone else gets signal there.

  • lol $0.25 per kilobyte!!!!

say hello to your $10000 cell phone bill if you go over

  • This isn't just Verizon. Att, Tmobile, hell... you ever try to order something at McDonalds when the registers go out and they have to add and subtract on the fly? It aint pretty, folks.

  • @flicklefish lol, yeah, you ever see what happens when the computers go down and someone in retail has to make change by hand?? Heaven forbid. ;-)

Whenever I go to the store and pay in cash, I try to figure out the number and denominations of bills and coins I get back before I get them back.

Ooh, even better...every get something that's, say, $15.68, and pay with a $20 bill and a $1 bill, and have the clerk look at you funny and give you the $1 bill back?

  • wow

    lmao

    mathematical fail

  • wow thats terible, thanks for sharing

  • ya right verizon is great

  • That's because he said dollars not cents... dah!!

  • No they say .002 of a dollar which is 0.2cents . Do you work at Verizon or something.

  • My sister got new verizon service after moving across the country. They charged $600 for service and a phone line they never had. And Verizon was giving them a hard time...

  • If a cell phone company is failing you, contact the BBB and if that doesn't help your local District Attorney's Office.

  • I train customer service (not for Verizon) and I can empathize with all the negative comments everyone is spewing. I like to think I am doing my part to reverse this perception everyone has of bad customer service.

  • Your trying to trying to change the perception of customer service in general that's fine. But everyone's perception of "bad customer service" should be that it's bad.

  • wow, this is great info. I'm never signing up with verizon

  • Most people are not aware that most customer service is handled by companies like APAC in Utica NY, you are not actually talking to Verizon. Ask if they are really a verizon employee and they seem to get flustered. I asked to talk to an actual verizon employee and and all they did was give me an APAC supervisor and I still cannot talk to verizon.

  • Comment removed

  • There's no way customer service jobs will be subject to 'serious screening', because they pay shit and anyone with any education or actual skill will either not apply, or just work there while going to school or till something better comes along. You want accurate information, go to the website. If you want to bitch at someone, by all means, phone customer service.

  • Well I wanted to update my frustation with Verizon, after 14 times between phone calls, and store visit, I had to leave a bad complaint at the verizon/opinion website and I received a call in where my bill was fixed. Good for them, but why I have to do all these to get their attention and "help" them do their job?

  • VERIZON FAILS HARD.

  • ┌∩┐(-_-)┌∩┐fuk vzw

  • Verizon Has the best Reception, their phones are pretty fair at best but great reception.Sprint had the worst. I remember i ran my verizon bill up to about $600 bucks and they never cut my phone off, $20 bucks over with sprint and forget that phone, verizons associates may not be math kings but they do a good job taking care of their customers

  • That's exactly what I've been telling people. Verizon is a fantastic phone company. I love them. Customer service representatives however, are usually always bound to be reject fucks when it comes to knowing what they're supposed to, especially if it involves understanding typically basic math. Customer service reps anywhere aren't to be trusted. Need to dig deep for answers. It's a job that's simple to get and all over the place and is usually easy, so simple people will go for it.

  • some of those were right and u changed the number compared to what they say and these are ppl who answer phones they dont know math. And its different depending on were u live u could be getting people who live in another state.

  • OK so whats the best Cell Phone company?

  • clearly at&t lol verizon is the best wish the iphone went there

  • VERIZON IS THE WORST COMPANY. The associates on the phone doesn't have any idea of what to do and the ones at the store are the same. I literally had to read their literature to be able to explain to the associate on the phone what to do. Incredible!!

  • No. Verizon is easily the best phone company. This is why positions in customer service should require some serious screening, because uneducated reject fucks will give any company a very bad image, and that's completely understandable, because the customer shouldn't have to go to the head of the company to figure out what the fuck his rates are.

  • Your implying its the little people on the totem pole in Customer Service that are giving the company a bad name and not the actual company itself who trains these people and gives them all their info? God....ur so stupid it hurts me. U must enjoy being fucked in the ass by Verizon without ur knowledge of it lol. Im willing to bet ur one of the 70% of Americans who cant even locate the United Kingdom ona map lmao!

  • i got the new omnia and i got a simplr plan...i had to get internet with it tho....but still bill came and it was $530!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 1.99 per MB Overage, I know that with The black berry its $30 for the package there supposed to come with.

  • How does this company still exist!?!?!?!

  • I ask myself the exact same thing.

  • People cant read scripts thats all there doing i used to be a tech support rep for dtv

  • now imagine how many customers are out there with massive bills they didnt expect and they are trying to convince someone on the phone this wasnt the rate they were told- and they are basicly being called liars.

i guess anyone who ever calls verison should invest in a recorder or expect to be misled without recourse.

  • I know!!!! lol

  • are you calling the actual verizon wireless company 56 times? or 56 times to indpendent verizon stores...? cause if so .. this video is not accurate.

  • seems intentional by the company.

  • I have US Cellular, they don't do stupid shit like this, my god man, that is retarded they can't get that. I thought I was hearing it wrong at first when I first listened to one of these, but omfg, no way...I can't believe these people have jobs!

  • WOW

  • good thing I'm never gonna be in Canada

  • verizon should get sued for this. This should be totally illegal. it makes you wonder if these were actually on the screens of the customer serv rep.

  • Classic Verizon Wireless. My friend works there at the call center and told me that the reps are only trained when they are hired, along with everything else. They used to have Data people that trained this... he laughed when he saw this. He said this is the norm. lol

  • in case you havent noticed VERIZON SUCKS.

  • i am with verizon and i love it, thats all good bye

  • I am with verizon too, but honestly man this is fail. This is sad when it is their job to answer these questions. They most likely have the stats sheets somewhere close to them as well. Makes me nervous if they are screwing up my bill.

  • In all fairness to Verizon, the most common mistake that they made was .005 cents for #1 (correct answer being .5 cents), and .002 cents for #2 (correct answer being .2 cents). For both, it seems obvious that they mixed up dollars vs. cents; most of the correct answers on the movie were given in dollars, not cents.

For example, the second question had exactly half of the responses being ".002 cents/kb".

But even given that, it is pretty sad that they screwed up as much as they did.

  • This is true. It's disturbing to know that people can't deal with dollars below the hundredth place. This level of math should've been mastered by 6th grade at the latest. This just goes to show how horrible our education system is. I bet these people were the kids in school who used to say "I'm never going to need this stuff anyway!" Not only are they an embarrassment to themselves, they're an embarrassment to our country.

  • I'm HORRIBLE at math absolutely horrible, but for god sakes I know currency.... Jesus Christ that's just ridiculous

  • Verizon (and all cell companies, really; do a similar study of Cingular or someone else) should have a policy of informing their people what units are. Cents/dollars is confusing enough for some of their mouth-breathing employees, but the second I heard someone say, "kilobits", I knew there was a bigger problem.

Additionally, they should be using appropriate units in their monkey-scripts. If the rate is closer to 1 cent than $1, it should be stated in cents, so as not to confuse their retards

  • I got At&t umlimited data !!! for 20 bucks .. i am lucky i did not go with verizon... i dont have to worry .

  • they should outsource those jobs to india or somewhere that can do basic math lol. this is reaaly funny in a sad kinda way but when you think about it you know there's a boss who has completely confused most of those responders with bad training.

  • Feel free to make fun of others math skills when you write a proper sentence.

  • AHHAHAH you have to call customer service for that.

  • wow

  • Verizon stop offering these plans a while ago. This is ancient news. Verizon reps never get asked this question anyway. Basically if you get overage, you picked the wrong plan and you are a moron anyway.

  • sorry but AT&T is better...read each website and compare and AT&T is wayyy better!!!!!

    Travis W!

  • lol dude they're known for dropped calls

  • OMFG! how stupid can people be!?!? LOL!

  • i have a feeling that they say the charges are much less because they want you to use alot of whatever you where useing and then when the bill comes that's when it hits yah

  • I actually work in Verizon Wireless customer service. We have a source that is the data base for all of our information. Within that data base search the rate for going over your limit it specifically states .005 cents per kb. The information displayed specifically states that. We have no control over the incorrect information provided to us by Verizon Wireless. And as a side note, I hate the company, hate the customers but I have to pay bills...

  • and yet the person will get billed .005 DOLLARS p/kb because Verizon doesn't realise the difference. ---.005 cents = .0005 dollars, which is why the correct quotes were actually the .5 cents and .2 cents expressed as .005 and .002 dollars

  • thats obnoxious.

  • I was tempted to chalk this up to incompetence... after all, some of the operators didn't even know the difference between "kilobyte" and "kilobit." But only 2% of them quoted the right rates? Can that really be an honest mistake?

  • Verizon is guilty of mass fraud.

The whole company should be shut down and liquidated to pay back all the money they have conned out of people.

It is rotten to the core. My advice to Verizon stock owners SELL, SELL WHILE YOU STILL CAN!

  • wow

  • The sad thing is I'm pretty sure that it isn't just Verizon, but pretty much all companies have that badly trained employees. =/

  • customers:81

    Verizon:16

you do the math *no not you verizon please..*

P.S. Im happily an at & t customer

  • if you dont understand what just happened:

    they said

    0.002c

    when the actual rates are

    0.002 dollars.

    which is 100 times bigger

    which is a massive differance

  • "i guess it's .15 cents per kilobite" how do you guess when it should be right in front of you but hey i have AT&T. Fuck yeah!

  • Verizon is nothing but idiots. I tried to get them to hook up DSL service for nearly 3 weeks and they couldn't get it working, so I went to Comcast cable. Then they had the brass balls to send me a bill for $78 of connection charges.

If they follow through on their threat to call collections, I'll follow through on my threat to hire a lawyer.

  • You do realize that Verizon WIRELESS doesnt provide DSL right?

You are talking about Verizon COMMUNICATIONS which, while being ONE of VZW's parent companies they arent the same company. ....

  • Well, they have the same name, so in my mind it's a bad reflection on both companies. Verizon's horrid DSL service swayed me to go to Comcast cable, and it also influenced my decision to go with AT&T/Cingular on my mobile phone too.

  • We need the mil back.

  • im gonna have to say i would definitely not know what they mean.

  • dude that is so messed up

  • the verizon people must have a thing in front of them saying .005 dollars (notice how most or all? that say the right answer say it this way) and the retards cant figure out how that translates.

  • can someone send this video to Verizon plz?

  • Verizon has got to be the dumbest company to date!

  • wow.. FIRE ALL OF THEM!

  • they don't need to be fired, they're just reading the information given to them. it's not the CSR's fault that they are being given the wrong information. well, unless they are interpreting the right information incorrectly, but then it would probably because the right information is ambiguous in some way.

  • I've seen the paper, it says "$0.5" But what happens is they see that it's under a dollar, and it's a common reaction to then say cents. For example If I should you $0.25, you'd say "Twenty five cents" not "zero point two five dollars". What messes people up is the it's "$0.5" and not "$0.50", removing the last zero messes them up, or else they would easily say "fifty cents"... still doesn't excuse it though =)

  • oh... my... god...

  • okokokok... ppl, if Verison sucks, then dont use them. they certainly will not admit that they have costumer service problems, because their heads are to swollen to admit it. just leave them alone in their pretend little world.

  • But RKfans1, that's not any fun... :P

Humans always enjoy complaining about things that are out of their control. ^-^

  • they are deceiving people. lust leave them alone?

  • holy shit... lmao

  • Try getting a strait answer about costs from Emabarq

  • What is it with Verizon? How can they suck so bad at math?

  • If people aren't already aware of it, Google Verizon FISA.

Verizon and AT&T should be boycotted for turning everyone's phone records over to the Feds, without demanding a warrant.

  • You know they had both written down, but just didn't know how to read it.

  • i think it is .002 not .2

  • Verizon in my opinion is very confused. I canceled services in November..and they are still charging for services not rendered!

  • lol

  • you don't have to be an executive... just a third grader.

  • which is 0.5¢

  • You aren't REALLY that retarded, right?

    You're just joking?

  • Dudes... You can tell that some of the voices are the SAME, and the ones that are give the same answers as they did before. If you want to call this real, you need to ask for names.

Nonetheless, if you're buying a 10MB data plan and asking about overages, you're probably not the kind of customer that's going to be 1) using 10MB from your phone, or 2) the kind of customer that Verizon actually cares about. I found this vid by typing "AT&T FUCKING AWFUL" into Google--imagine.

  • I'd guess their screens say $0.002 per kilobyte, which is kinda hard to read. Should say 0.2 cents instead, really it's more a fault of whoever designed their scripts or whatever they read from.

  • That's not fucking hard to read, it's labeled DOLLARS ($), not cents with the little c with the line through it.

These people are retarded, they assume it's cents because the 002 is on the right of the decimal point.

The label is dollars. Thus it is read as "dollars".

0.002c is what most of them said.

$0.002 is what they were supposed to say.

  • OK, have it your way, I'm not defending them, just saying there's ways to make things easier to read and harder to read. Why make things harder if the people reading them are not that bright to begin with?

  • First of all, Sorry that I snapped at you.

    Second:

I think they should keep it that way and train their employees a lot better before they start claiming that they are selling service for 100x less than it really is.

For me it is completely easy to read because I payed attention in math class in the 2nd grade when we learned about labeling, LMAO.

  • If they price it in megabytes we wouldn't have this problem. It would be approx 2$/MB.

  • They don't want to make it easy to calculate... they just want you to make the mistake and think that the overages are more trivial than they actually are

  • I agree. that's what happened and that's what they should do.

  • i have verizon and i must say that they suck balls. their phones all suck and their service is terrible

  • my mom works at verizon answering the phones and peoples questions im gunna tell her about this video and see what she says lol

  • The thing is that each rep has certain statistics to follow. For instance average handle time *AHT per call for a general department is less than 500 seconds. Yeah right. Do you know how many diff cust senerios and questions we get? It is impossible to memorize all of the information. Infact, I have never had my AHT has never been lower than 700-800 seconds, on a good day, its more likely the 1200 range. I was almost let go because of it before my first 3 months was up.

  • you should do the same thing on at&t! I bet they will answer all the time correct.

  • what do you mean they're not like that....

    he just proved it!

  • You've proven nothing except the general public (and Verizon employees, it seems) don't know how to read $0.005/kb and $0.002/kb from their manuals.

If you added all the people who said a variation of the .005 and .002 cents/dollars, the majority would be correct (esp roaming in Canada).

    Ignorant, probably. Dishonest, doubtful.

  • go to the site.. its the difference between paying $71.00 and $0.71... which would you want to pay?

  • now why would u say that

  • i worked there, they're very good at pretending to know things; whether it's right or wrong. LMAO. it's quite the circus. they just started this goofy pricing b4 i left. needless to say, the management is quite complacent, stubborn, and lame. this last pricing fiasco was obviously well thought out.

  • also most ppl seem to hate the service they have.

  • LOL

  • I warn everyone STAY AWAY from Verizon, they are hands down the WORST! Bad service AND customer support that is actually mean to you if you have a problem. As long as everything is working you're fine, have a problem and YOU ARE SCREWED WITH VERIZON! You've been warned. I'll never do business with them again.

  • really? most of the people i know have verizon and everyone really likes it, and i think its fine. also i broke my phone twice in two months and i wasnt screwed...

  • what company do you have?

  • At&T cost a little less than Verizon and works better. However, these cell phones are still far to expensive. Nationwide high speed WiFi connectivity will wipe them out if they don't reduce their prices massively.

  • wow imikewillrockyou, i had sprint and they were the WORST hands down! verizon is amazing! never had a problem once. with sprint, i had calls drop! with verizon, not one call has droped yet!

  • lol the guy you think didnt know said cents the first time but i still think you make a valid point...
