no he's just one of the people who go "mad" near the end of the show. When they make the squiggly lines and one person in each curve of the squiggle comes out and acts "mad"
National BAMASO 2010 - Saida Malagueña browse YouTube and will see me playing a bit, I'm the first tuba player appearing at the tip, note that the camera of a czoom me.
My name is juninho'm 20 years old know how to read bass clef tuba play for about six years old my English is not good but I think I can tune into the group and can be a piece to add to those who are paying off
about the English think that one day travel to your country I can adapt fast and can speak English a legible where everyone can bore me.
Well I ask only one chance to show my work with great musicians who love drum corps
I live in Brazil and would love one day can be part of this group
Here the staff is nice and is also a nice touch
Our band is called tetra bamaso are champions Brazil in the juvenile category and are state champions in senior categoriaq (youth and senior categories that are divided by age bands for each member) inta would like to know how to one day fulfill a dream? ? tuba in the Cavaliers can you help me?
My first year In my high school marching band. We use contras and having a hard time with any pedal notes any tips? I've been playing tuba for 4 years now
@CorpNorth we do that type of drill too...but def not at 208. but i guess that's what you get from a director and full staff that's from the cavies :P
loved the video, thanks for posting. i'm a tuba player and i always wanted to march in the cavaliers.
@CorpNorth holy crap man! my HS indoor line had the same deal, but we had it a 180 or so, i didnt think it was possible to get that big of a step that fast.
i remember being at one of the shows. Oh it was the one with that stupid hill on the field. Must have been a ten foot difference from front to back field. any way. After my corps performed we went to see you guys. and one of your contras got hurt pretty bad. who was that?
@cphslax yeah, dude. i auditioned on contra for cavies this year, and everybody'd be practicing movements all in one big room. almost bumped into everyone there haha. didn't make it, unfortunately, but at least i got to know all about their expectations for next year!
If you watch this show from another angle, you'll see that a couple people drop out of the lines, but only because it's apart of the show. They're supposed to drop out and act in an "insane" state. Hence the title of the show. :)
@silentbob348 i believe it was part of the show, or he did actually pass out, but he had green shorts, and after that whole thing, i saw him back in there, same green shorts. so i would assume, it was a part of the show
What happened to the contra beside you at 9:07 ? did he pass out, cause he just dropped out then in the reflection he didnt look like he was doing to hot and someone said "breath" at like 9:11
@CorpNorth Are they easy to play on the contras Im wondering because I want to be in a dci soon and im wondering it would help me out a lot? :D Thank you.
@CorpNorth do you think it'd be hard to go from a sous to a contra? because i've been interested in doing some sort of corp but idk if i could cus i've never played a contra.
@falloutboy7778 My high school director made us switch from the lighter yamaha fiberglass sousa's to the jupiter contra's (if you know anything about marching instruments, it was basically switching from one side of the spectrum to the other in terms of weight) and for the first couple weeks, i'm not gonna lie: it was pretty intense, but after a couple long rehearsals it wasn't half bad. But a lot of it was probably psychological. In my marching band a lot of emphasis is placed on attitude.
@falloutboy7778 What? did i make it seem terrible? its really not. I've never had a chance to play a metal sousaphone, but since switching to the contra I've never looked back. It really is just much more practical for a high-intensity show (which is why my director bought the contras) there are so many more things you can do, and for me at least they are easier to play, look better than a sousaphone, and overall are just a better experience.
@holagrey no you didnt make it seem terrible you made it seem like you had to adjust which i understand my freshman year i couldnt feel my left shoulder lol
@falloutboy7778 oh haha. Well i guess it partially depends on your body type. the Jupiter brand ones that we use at my school are about 35 pounds, but Yamaha's weigh MUCH less. (If I recall right, its about 17 pounds? I'm probably wrong though.) If your looking for comfortability in a contra your going to want to go with yamaha. I remember the first few weeks with my contra, it was hard, but I enjoyed every minute of it. But that's just the way I am i guess haha.
