This video is contributing to the illegal trade of slow loris all over Indonesia!
People find it cute and sweet only because they are ignorant!
Slow loris are becoming rare in the wild, due to the high demand to buy them as pet.
Once more, humans can just look at things superficially.
If they only wouldn't be blinded by their on stupidity and desire to control everything.....slow loris wouldn't be seen so adorable but on the edge of extinction.
As cute as this is, I implore you to watch the documentary: "The natural world - Jungle Gremlins of Java" The loris is fast becoming an endangered species, and we should help to save them from their worst enemy... Humans. Leave them in the wild and if you want cute, get a puppy or a kitten. :-)
It is actually becoming reeeally endangered because people wants them as pets. Locals now hunts them because the market are asking them for pet. Please help us discourage them being pets. There is no slow loris breeders, those who claims that there are are liars. If there are breeders, they won't be endangered. :) and do not be mistaken, hundreds died before they even meet their owners... because of stress or infection to their teeth that were plucked or crushed or maybe malnutrition..
@EshtarWind I agree that these animals are best left in the wild. And I do not know whether or not it is possible to breed slow lorises in captivaty.
But just because an animal is endangered does not mean that there is no breeders of said animal. Many tortoises and lizards which are endangered can be purchased legally from breeders with CITES-papers. Your logic is flawed.
@Crotaphytus112 They're quite hard to breed, with low reproductivity. Tortoises and lizards lay multiple eggs at one time but lorises only have 1 infant every 1-1,5 years. Just imagine how many lorises you need to have to use it for commercial use (not to mention other costs) there is just no way they cost as much as they are now, unless they are taken from the wild. They're delicate, unless with vet supervisions, I don't think you can actually keep one healthy for a long time.
