  • but if its an assessment then it is kinda all about you..

  • I agree that having a larger picture what'sin it for them...the value is more pwerful to thenthe fear.

  • ou make a great point that oursociety may have influenced the high lvels of anxiety that people feel simply by bringing so much attention to the fact that so many are scared. Do you feel it would help the stats and the feeings that people feel if we spoke about the fear less?

  • There are some actually good tips here. I've been searching for other ways to overcome fear of public speaking and found a free report on this website. Its pretty cool. Check it out. I dont think Youtube allows me to post links so i'll have to show it to you in this format:

  • i have to present an oral about Braveheart on wednesday. Luckily i managed to do it in front of only 5 or 10 instead of 50 but i still get nervous. I think it's because im self concious. No matter how much i tell myself to be calm, my hearts beats realy fast. Stupid body...making me appear nervous

  • Good job, I always get nervous before I speak to a group. It would seem I am not alone.....

  • I believe our over bearing fear of Public speaking is our greatest fear because we feel separate from our audience. We want to be part of a community and accepted. The perceived judgement is in our own head. Our audience actually wants you to succeed. We fear being abandoned from our audience and it can be deep seated in our sub conscious. A Presenter is the source of the energy and needs to put their whole attention on the audience to give them an experience.

  • I agree with Patricia. People are terrified to speak publicly because they are hyper focused on themselves. It's interesting to me that shy people are often self absorbed people. They don't appear that way on the outside. In fact they appear humble . . . nope just the opposite! All roads lead to them, and that terrifies them.

On the other hand, type A people like me seem over confident. Nope, just really passionate about what I'm trying to share with you. Thus, a great public speaker!

    simple!

  • @robesondesign hey i'm no self absorbed! I'm just really self concious and I'm not confident at all. I hate when non-shy people pick on sh people even though they have no idea how we feel. You've never been shy and u don't know wut ur talking about!

  • though i make videos..i still get nervous about public speaking or performing..lol..i mean, i break out into a sweat just at the very thought of it..the irony ;) thnx for posting..lets peeps know they're not alone.

  • I hate speaking in public, and avoid it at all costs! Great video, very informative! Thanks!!

  • "Concurring" your fear???? Try "Conquering".

  • This is very valuable information presented pleasantly and efficiently. I thought highly enough about it to post a link to my Facebook page!

  • thanks for sharing this informative clip... best wishes...

  • I love an audience and public speaking. However, many don't. Good topic. Note-if you're coaching execs on public speaking - although you might want to keep it comfortable - I would dress like an exec

  • Coming from someone who is afraid of public speaking, I found this video informative. Patricia made an interesting point about viewing the speech as giving away something of value. I think this change in mindset, for me, will ease some of the discomfort when speaking in public.

  • i saw ur link on the facebook youtube page and im hitting 1 star just cuz ur advertising
