If they didn't capitalize on an oil opportunity, then there are dozens of foreign oil companies who would jump on the opportunity. We wouldn't have any of these problems if Chevron released the electric car patents they (mysteriously) acquired from GM ten years ago. Once returned to GM we can all drive pure electric cars like GM's EV1 that go at least 120 miles on a charge and have no gas engines. I said no gas engines no gasoline.
